Of all the large department stores I think Nordstroms has the best selection...and a great kids department too...

Well girls I could chat about shopping all night but DH is taking me out to dinner...no cooking tonight:)

Hope you all have a good night:flower3:

How nice!

Have fun!:goodvibes

Ugh....I just saw that RPC is available for that 7 for 4 deal for my spring break dates.........

Channing:)

MARE! So Macy's really IS on 34th Street?!?!!?!? I LOVE "Miracle on 34th Street"!!!:goodvibes :rotfl: :rotfl: LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

Chan

OMG Chan, you're joking right! OF COURSE IT'S ON 34th ST!!! That's why they named the movie "Miracle on 34th St!"

I adore the movie, hate the store! It's way too crowded for me and it's such a tourist mecca. You seriously can't shop! I'm always stuck behind 20 asian men in the lobby staring at a huge xmas wreath.:rotfl: Get out of my way!! Thankfully, I do know the store well, and know where the elevators are and how to get there quickly. For some crazy reason, the higher the floor you're on, the less crowded it is. There is a Starbucks in there too ;)

I have to make DH a store map whenever he goes there to the Claiborne section. Once he called me and didn't realize he was in the young men's Claiborne section! He had no idea why they were in such small sizes! :)

Of all the large department stores I think Nordstroms has the best selection...and a great kids department too...
:

I LOVE Nordstroms too! But only go there rarely as it's in NJ. I LOVE their shoe dept!! Enjoy dinner out! :)

DH just called and he's spending the night in the Poconos with DS4. He wasn't sure if they were coming home tonight. They're going to some Nascar restaurant that opened up there. I have no idea. I just told him to call me when he hits Walmart. We need a few things and the only Walmart we have access to is in the Pocono (none in NY). I swear DH and DS4 in Walmart can last 3 hours! They hit every dept. :)

So it's just me and the munchkin this evening. He's quietly playing with his Thomas trains.

If Macy's doesn't carry Liz Claiborne and limited RL what do they carry then? Their own brands? I think they stopped carrying CK too. I don't shop in Macy's too often as it's all the way down on 34th St. I have Bloomingdales 3 blocks from our building, I practically live in Bloomies! :goodvibes They carry everything! RL, CK, Burberry, Lacoste, etc... All our favorites. Plus I love their kid's dept. The sales are amazing! I got DS4 Rock and Republic jeans that were $150 for $39!! :woohoo:

I wish we had a Bloomies near here. I think there is only one in the whole state. There aren't any Nordstroms near here either, there are a couple, just not close. Macy's has Jones New York, Style &Co, and a lot of Charter Club.:rotfl2: Not much, it is mostly junky stuff. I don't buy much there any more.:sad1: I'll have to take a look at Bloomingdales and Nordstroms on line. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Macy's has Jones New York, Style &Co, and a lot of Charter Club.:rotfl2:

Style & Co and Charter Club are their house brands.

How about a Lord and Taylor? They have nice stuff, too far for me to walk to also. They're near Macy's. The furthest I'll walk to is Saks

Maxie, that is nice to be able to have your groceries delivered. :thumbsup2 We can't even get a pizza delivered.:rotfl2: Well....we can now...but for years we couldn't. I make killer pizza anyway.:goodvibes My pizza skill was born out of necessity.:rotfl:

Chan

Do you deliver?:lmao:

Do you deliver?:lmao:

For you I would, Maxie!! For the longest time NOBODY would deliver to us here....my son (when he was like 8) said their delivery cars just wouldn't make right turns. That was his little joke.;)

LOL....Ummmm no..not joking!:rotfl: I live in the sticks of the Midwest!!! :rotfl2: OK...I can put two and two together and figure it out....but I didn't.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How cute is that movie though.:) I even love the remake. ADORABLE.:goodvibes

Channing :)

They have Lord and Taylor and Saks in Boston. It's really not that far, but I don't get into the city much. I do not drive in Boston.:rotfl2: Think Test Track. Just like a ride through Boston. You drive fast and get to test your AL brakes often.:rotfl2: Everything they say about Mass drivers is true.:rotfl2:

That's cute :) So how do you make your pizza? My MIL used to make really good pizza, then again she was from Naples  I have two pizzerias on speed dial ;)

LOL....Ummmm no..not joking!:rotfl: I live in the sticks of the Midwest!!! :rotfl2: OK...I can put two and two together and figure it out....but I didn't.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The T-giving parade goes down Broadway then ends in front of Macy's. Technically, the parade doesn't hit 34th St, so I guess they could have called the movie "Miracle on Broadway" but 34th St has a better ring to it :rotfl2: (Santa's in the parade)

Macy's is the largest store in the world. It takes up one entire city block. It's on 7th Avenue, 34th St, 35th St and Broadway.

You can actually feel where all the previous building were joined as you're walking in the store. They didn't build from the ground up. The floors are uneven in the center of the store. That doesn't bother me, it's the original escalators that scare the cr@p out of me. They're made of WOOD. I prefer the elevators!

I've never been to Boston. I have relatives in Marlborogh (sp) but they come to us  Sounds like driving in Manhattan :)

I usually go to the malls in NJ, about 20 mins drive from NYC. I like that I can get all my xmas shopping done in one place rather than run store to store in the city. Plus getting the stuff home is easier. I can pull the car up to the building and have the doormen unload it. If I shop in the city, I'm stuck carrying the bags! :rotfl:

... I do not drive in Boston.:rotfl2: Think Test Track. Just like a ride through Boston. You drive fast and get to test your AL brakes often.:rotfl2: Everything they say about Mass drivers is true.:rotfl2:
She is NOT kidding! You know how much I like public transportation??? I take the subway in Boston...the roads scare me! Hubby will drive right into the city center- it terrifies me!
Boston = Test Track! Definitly!!!

All my Christmas decorations are up (except for table - I left the the turkey and the fall placemats alone). 3 weeks from today we will be driving to WDW. I'm so excited, my DH kept asking me why I was decorating so early. I kept telling him we will miss 2 weekends in December and I want to enjoy our tree now - he did say it was pretty after I finished with it :goodvibes .

I had a lot of decorative boxes I bought last year after Christmas to use to put gifts in. I put them under the tree, so now it looks like I'm been shopping - but I haven't. :rotfl2: Have a good evening. I'm tired, going to take a shower and hit the couch. - Lisa.

Evening Gals :)

I actually got alot done today :thumbsup2. I got the house cleaned and did a few loads of :laundy:......so tomorrow will be a relaxing day :goodvibes.

Chan.....I have a question for you since you are a frequent SWA flyer . Do you know when they will release dates for June :confused3? I think right now you can book through May 8th.....so I'm assuming the next release will be for June/July time frame . Speaking of flights......have you had any luck with your February ones coming down??? Did you and Dawn ever decide what time you're coming back on the return? February will be here before you know it :).

Kristin.....I hope you enjoyed your quiet day :flower3:. Get your rest so you don't get sick for your trip ;). Only 20 more days :woohoo: :woohoo:.

Hi to everyone else :wave2:.

Deb :upsidedow

Oh you chickens about driving in Boston! You crack me up! :rotfl2:

Do you know what scares me more than driving in Boston, Wrentham on a Saturday!!! OMG:scared1: I said it before but I will say it again, Aren't we in a recession? Seriously, I went into Gap and walked out! I said 30% isn't even worth this! The line was wrapped around the entire store and everything was a big old mess! Kids was the same way! My DH came back to get me and I said "lets go". I should have taken a picture of his face...talk about priceless! I bought 2 shirts in Lacoste, a backpack and and wait for it....a utility pack! :rotfl2: You might know them better as a fanny pack but I cant use that word!!! :rotfl: I am the one that gets stuck carrying the back pack all the time in FLA and frankly, I am sick of it! So I bought this thing and I actually think it is very cute....Black and flat and just the right size for my passes and phone! Some lady tried to take it from me too! I was like oh no I am buying this! I cracked myself up going through the register! :rotfl:

And I got a new coffee pot that I really didn't need but wanted!

Happy day to everyone!

Morning All :)

Siobhan - That's too funny about the shopping . Any time we pass by our mall here DH makes the comment "Yeah....we're in a recession" :rotfl: :rotfl:. There are tons of restaurants around that area and every single one of them has packed parking lots constantly.........surely not a sign of a recession here :rotfl2:. I can't take the kind of madness you described either.......I would have high tailed it out of there too :rolleyes1. People get CRAZY......especially this time of year :sad2:.

Kristin - Hope you're feeling better today :flower3:.

Well gals.....I've started thinking (again :rotfl:) about going back to work :scared1:. What I'm thinking about doing is substitute teaching at the middle school :confused3? Not sure I want to do high school . The one nice thing about it is that I can make my own schedule.......I can pretty much tell them how much or how little I want to work.....plus when the boys are off school I would be too :thumbsup2. AND.....there's no problem getting off work for all my Disney vacations :rotfl: :rotfl:. Has anyone ever subbed???? Dawn......any suggestions for a newbie thinking about getting into subbing??? :rotfl2:

Hi to everyone else I'm missing :wave2:.

Deb :upsidedow

Siobhan...you are my kind of shopping gal! :worship: My mom and I are power shoppers....

My DD went to the mall yesterday and she said everyone in the stores are either newbies getting trained and dumber than a box of rocks --or-- nasty and yanky as H**L! :headache: Oh I think I will be doing alot of internet shopping this season.....

LOTS OF HOMEWORK AND HOUSEWORK to catchup on today....

Less than 1 month and I will be graduated! :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :teacher:

Its not Christmas without Miracle on 34th St, Christmas Vacation, and of course White Christmas! Plus for all of you Chicagoians Hardrock, Coco and Joe and Suzi Snowflake.......

Morning!!

OMG....Mare, I make it totally from scratch. Flour, salt, yeast, water, oil, egg.....but the secret is in the sauce. Yummo. I make all kinds. We did order last night because Lucy had a friend sleep over and I was feelin' lazy...lOl...and the kids were like, "This is so greasy"....:rotfl: :rotfl:

Kristin! I am sorry ....in all my gabbing I passed up the fact you were feeling kinda crummy. YOu guys have had a rough fall. Get it all out of the way before your trip. Feel better soon.:)

Dawn! OMG...I used to sit at the kitchen counter watching Ray Raynor before school!!! Now you stuck that song in my head for the day..."Here comes Suzy Snowflake....."....ok..don't tell me it wasn't Ray Raynor...was he the one with that Goose?? :rotfl: I was YOUNG!!!! I know....we sure don't see any "recession" here. I am the mega online shopper though. Much more enjoyable. Congrats on the ALMOST graduation!!! That is awesome. :) Oh yes...I need some Bing and Rosemary Clooney!!! I LOVE THOSE MOVIES! I am the mega retro queen....you know me..."Flipper".."My Three Sons"...and "I Love Lucy"...over and over again....haha...my kids know what's good.

Siobhan! Holy Cow....it must have been bad for you to ask to leave the mall!!!!! I bet your husband was stunned. :rotfl2: That's how our stupid LnT was last weekend!! CRAZINESS! And for WHAT?!?!?! Kitchen and bathroom crap?!!?!?:rotfl: That was oddness. OK...I can see it at Gap or at a Coach outlet....but come on...at LnT?!?!?! Peeps are weird......

Deb!
My neighbor subs. She subs only high school. Our schools are broken up in two districts....so she does HS. She enjoys it. Last week she actually worked 4 out of 5 days but some weeks none. That's the only thing...it's so irregular. Now how it works here is that if you say NO you can't do it, you get put to the bottom of the call list...so it's much better to always be ready to roll. She enjoys it. The hours are great. Sometimes she doesn't even have to do a full day. On the SWA...well...I lost track but as far as I know they just released the spring break dates pretty recently. I don't know when they relase summer fares. I don't buy our July trip until May ish. Unless they release something totally fabo from the start. Last year though....I did pay more for July then EVER EVER before. I think I paid twice as much.....but who knows what's around the bend for this summer. UHG...FEB!!! Well...I got my flight to MCO down $20...so I got a deal....and then bought my return on Feb 9 for cheap....I might stay til the 10th with Wendo depending on what everybody else is doing. I figured I'd just snatch it for cheap and take the credit or whatever if I changed it around. Right now D and i have a Feb 5 9:10 am flight to MCO...it arrives at about 12:45 I think. I paid $109 for that and was HAPPY! The return I bought is Feb 9 at 6:35 pm. But..nothing is set in stone. Kinda waiting for the putzes to get their heads in the game.:rotfl: :rotfl:

TTYL!!! Have a great day all! I will be around. It's soo cold I don't want to leave my house....but Jojo wants to run to Target and spend some money.....:rotfl2:

Chan

Good Morning everyone, 124 days til spring.:goodvibes

Siobhan  I hate shopping in crowds too. Maybe that is why I never went to Wrentham, especially at Christmas time.:rotfl2: I wore a utility pack, much better word for it, when DS was small and I needed to carry extra stuff. I don't think they look that bad.:rotfl2: I kept telling myself that anyway.:lmao: I hate to carry stuff. Now I only take what will fit in my pockets.:thumbsup2

Deb Sounds like a great way to earn extra money for Disney. :thumbsup2 That is why I work.:lmao:

goofygal There is one very big difference between driving in Manhattan and Boston, in Manhattan the streets are straight and are in blocks. In Boston the streets don't always go any where. Have you ever heard the saying "you can't get there from here", well that is Boston.:rotfl2: There isn't very good signage either, and there is no easy way to give directions. Getting around Boston is probably why they invented GPS.:lmao:

:goodvibes Chan....It was Garfield Goose...Ray Raynor had Cuddly Duddly :thumbsup2 Do you remember on Garfield Goose "the Funny Company"????

Im Hard Rock Im Coco Im Joe..........:santa:
Here comes suzi snowflake dressed in her snowwhite gown, tap tap tap on your window pane to tell you she's in town, oh here come suzi snowflake.....I wont sing the rest!

Goofygal......We order pizza out sometimes but I do make homemade as well :goodvibes. I got the recipe from my MIL a LONG time ago and my boys and DH just love it......but sometimes it's just easier to use the phone and go pick it up :rotfl:. I can't believe your trip is so close.....how exciting :dance3:. Have a great trip :cool1: :cool1:.

Chan......From what I hear, subs are pretty hard to come by in our district so they are just happy to get you whenever you will do it :rotfl: :rotfl:. I've heard that some of the middle school kids are pretty wild (8th grade in particular) and some of the subs can't handle them too well :scared1:......but I figured I'd give it a try and see what happens :rolleyes1. I do like the fact that I can sub as much or as little as I want......and telling them no isn't a big deal I guess because they're so desperate to have people :rotfl2:. But that stinks about your neighbor that if the school is told "no" that you go to the bottom of the list :headache:. Thanks for the SWA info ;).

Maxie.......I always told myself I could never sub (especially after hearing horror stories from my neighbor who does )......but I really can't beat the hours and the fact that I'm off when DSs are off :thumbsup2. Plus I would still have my summers free :). I'll probably go over to the administration building tomorrow and see what all needs to be done ;). But you're right........more money for Disney.....what else is there :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Deb :flower3:

TRACI_ Those are the hair things I have been looking for for Lily's tumbling competetive team. Where did you get them?

Well I am sad to say no one will tell me where these things come from. It's not like it's top secret, but they are treating it as such. The lady that orders them has ignored my email. I am sorry I couldn't find out for you :(
