Evening all

Does anyone know how much prescription glasses cost.
I had the day off today and went to the eye doctor...I've been having more and more trouble reading things close to my eyes....it happened so quickly too...
Anyway I was told i have a touch of Astigmatism and using the computer at work all day really strains my eyes soooooo

I have no insurance for eyeglasses and was a bit surprised about the cost.
They showed me a pair of frames that was $800!!! I didnt get that one but i will say it fit really nice and looked good.
I pointed to one pair to try on and before i could say anything the girl behind the counter said "those are old man frames, pass"

Im curious if anyone has had to pay for thier glasses and what it cost.

OMG -- I'm having the same issue and it just started in the last few weeks. I've always had perfect vision and suddenly one morning, I couldn't read the fine print on a motrin bottle. I really need to get to the eye doctor as well...

BTW -- I think you'll love that tree. The other one just seemed a little off being blue in my opinion. I felt like it was more suited for one of my Jewish friends who puts up a tree to use because of the blue. I guess I just associate blue with Hanukkah...

Sibohan-- congrats on the Tahoe! I love mine, but it certainly took some getting used to, to park it. Mine has 220,000 miles on it and we've been thinking of replacing it. I'd love to keep it for my son to drive when he starts in three years, but I really can't see him being able to park it!

Jake's last soccer practice is tonight. Yahoo! Andrew's last game was this past Saturday, so now just one game left for Jake on this Saturday and we are finished for a few weeks until basketball practice starts. At least that is indoors and only an hour at a time.

I'd like to ditto what some others have said. My candidate didn't win, but I'm praying hard that the new administration can work together to get us out of the financial mess those greedy idiots on wall street created and fed. I also pray for Obama's safety and that of his family. Have you guys heard about the disturbances on Baylor University's campus? Very disturbing...

I hadn't heard about that, Marci, but I just looked it up. You're right, very disturbing...It is really sad that people still have such strong sentiments against race in an age where we are more multicultural than ever.

It's actually the opposite here.....DH keeps telling me to go get a new Yukon......but I'm perfectly happy with mine so I'm sticking with it . I'm constantly given a hard time because there has never been any eating or drinking of pop allowed in my truck.......only water....and never food . Yes....I'm a freak.....but I can't help it . DH and the boys think I'm a total nut case but they deal with it . The Yukons and Tahoes are great for the room . But the Acadia is a nice SUV too . New vehicles are fun......good luck choosing one and have fun looking at everything and test driving .

From what I read a noose was hung in a tree on campus on election day. Several Obama signs were also burned on campus

I just read the brief version of the story. Things like this make me . Dislike and opposition are one thing, predjudice and outright hate are entirley different

WOW........220,000 miles . My Yukon in an '02 and it just turned 60,000 so hopefully it has alot of life left . My DH told me it should run for 200,000 miles easy......and seeing your's is over that, it gives me hope . I just love my truck and really have no desire to get a new one until I'm forced to .

I have been busy today! Trying to plan spring break trip if that deal is true. And then maybe June, lol.....

Jojo was home sick....and not really sick...so demanding. I just dropped her at school. Enough is enough.

Marvel, I think Dawn meant $400 ish total...that was for designer frames & lenses though. She is chi chi foo foo -that Dawn. If you have Costco in NY..check it out. I take Lucy to a ophthalmologist at UIC and the optometrist at Costco I took her to just because I felt like her prescription had changed was really REALLY good. And that's comparing her to UIC mega world renown super Dr. She actually had studied with the UIC Dr. Not sure about all of them....but I am like Dawn and don't particularly like the chain gangs....had a terrible TERRIBLE experience at Pearle Vision and left with the guy YELLING at me!!! I wrote a nasty email to their corporate...and never heard boo back. THEY SUCK. But Costco eye exam for glasses will run ya about $60? I think or about.

It is days like today that I really wish I had a laptop!!!

My meds aren't helping and yet I can't drag myself away from the computer with all this code talk!

OK, girls (and Marvel ) here is my dilemma,

If the rumored deal is true (and availability is good for my week), I can stay at Pop for under $500 for the week (pre tax of course). I was prepared to pay close to $900 at rack rate. To upgrade to AKL would be $1160 for the week (or $44 more per night than rack at Pop). Obviously, if Pop is not available (and I will NOT stay at any of the All Stars), it is a no brainer for me to take the upgrade. But if both are available, how do I justify to myself (forget DH for the moment ) to spend almost $700 more for a hotel we won't spend too much time at

1) AKL has a better pool, but I am not sure we would do much swimming (we would be more inclined to at AKL than Pop however)
2) AKL has sit down restaurants and since we are doing DxDDP, it would be VERY convenient to have Boma on site for breakfast...
3) Both resorts have their own bus
4) We really were surprised at how much we enjoyed our stays at BOTH hotels.
5) AKL has inside corridors, and you know how I am about that!! Plus, it might be nice to have some added security since I am travelling without DH
6) If we chose AKL, we probably would spend more time at the resort than if we stayed at Pop just because AKL is SO MUCH cooler!!

I hate hard decisons!! All opinions are welcome!!!!!

I've stayed at both and i might sound crazy but I liked POP more.. i think that place is fun!
In fact Im sure im wrong but the rooms didnt seem that much bigger at AKL.

Kristin- My reasoning is based on only the fact that you are traveling alone. I think having all the rooms in one location would be a great benefit for you.

I know you are not a fan of WL but maybe you should give it a try. It really is a beautiful resort and pretty convenient to everything. Just a thought! You would be so close to MK and can still see the higher fireworks from the resort. The pool area is very nice and relaxing.

I just ran the full numbers and it would still be $2100 for the week at AKL after taxes, DxDDP and the assumption of needing 1 day passes for DS and I. I just can't justify that cost (Especially if Pop ends up being $1350 for the same stuff!)

A lot!!!!!!!! It was $2821 for DxDDP (They also had RPC for $3637 for 7 nights- no Dining)

I emailed Kel and told her to take the Pop deal. Now I will wait and see if an AP rate comes out. I had to buy 1 day passes for $138 (pretax) to get the package. If an AP rate is lower than what this is, I will change it. I really don't want those tickets! But this saved me close to $300 even with the tickets, so I can't complain about that!

At least you can take those one day tickets and put them towards your next AP purchase so not a total waste. You liked the Pop and are familiar with it so I am sure you will be fine. At least it is another trip!

I'm really OK with my choice. AKL isn't worth $2000

I am still hoping an AP rate will come out later that is at the same price point so I can drop those tickets (That was almost $150 right there ).

Kristin! So...what exactly is the deal???? Was that RPC the 7 for 4 nights??? Did kelly get thru?!?!?!!?!?!? THAT is INCREDIBLE rate for 7 nights for RPC!!!
