Good Morning All.....what a beautiful weekend here in Chicago. Really Fallish! Feeling better than last weekend...just a little lingering cold symptoms but nothing major.
3 DAY WEEKEND!! WOOHOO! Gonna just chill.....

Ok, I'm Back!!!! (Ie: My computer is BACK!!!) Not fixed at all. Sony customer service stinks!!!

Ok, it was my fault (a little.) Seeme like at some point I dumped coffee on the keyboard. I remember it happening, so I know that part is true. BUT...I didn't think a broken case part and a broken button had anything to do with a spill. I WAS WRONG! (obviously.) Because, according to Sony, if there is any water damage it completely voids the entire warranty. Despite the fact that th water is not the cause of the break, there is still nothing they will do to cover the computer. Whatever! They can kiss my butt!

Then, for the icing on the cake, they sent it back to me with the keyboard not working. When I called to tell them I sent a functional machine to them and received a $1200 paperweight back from them they called me a LIAR! They said the water damage shows that the keyboard was damaged and it was not working because of that. After 90 minutes (93 mins and 48 seconds...gotta love cell phone call timers!) They came up with...too bad, you broke it, what do you want us to do! (Insert swearing here!!!) So I gave the computer to my 15yo computer geek and in under 13 mins he found that they did not reconnect the keyboard to the computer. He attached the wire and now it works fine!!! (Insert more swearing!!!)

Sony stinks, I will not be buying from them again. I never had problems with Dell, why I switched and tried a different company is beyond me. Don't spill on your laptop! The water detection tape on a Sony Vaio is in the top left corner of the keyboard. A small drop is all it takes to set off the water indicator. And it viods everything. Sure it's common sense, but really, water at the keyboard ruins a button not on the keyboard??? NOT!!!!


GRRRRR!!!!

I am grouchy at Sony, But I have missed all of you! I will be here again now that the house is clean and spare time is increasing. (Good news: No computer= cleaner house!)

Marvel....ok...so you mean the suite withOUT club access is that much more than two PBH rooms WITH club access??? If that is what you're saying I think I would do the PBH 2 rooms with the club access. JMO.....That is a lot of difference....and I hate paying that much money for the unknown. It never fails and I am bummed and have regrets & buyer's remorse. I always expect MAGNIFICENCE for that kind of money...and then it doesn't live up to my expectations. PBH is nice....that style is just not my favorite. It's dark heavy Italian, tapestry like stuff but the club lounge was large and had good food...*shh.....* better then the Disney hotels...including GF. We only stayed there one time so I am really not the best at giving advice on UO or their hotels.

Actually i had my numbers a bit confused.

the 2 portofino rooms on club level come out to $4900.
the two bedroom suite is just about $5000 for those 4 nights.
so the price is about the same just no club access.

Now what do ya' think?
Club level sure makes things easier for us but i dont like that the lounge is off the lobby too. Im afraid you could be a nice distance away from it.

Both of those prices include park tickets by the way
I don't think $1250 a night for a 2 bedroom with 5 park tickets is that bad...
What i do think is bad is that i don't think that number is bad

APs for Universal are pretty cheap... If we love it I might get APs and do some more split stays from now on.

I just cant decide on when to check in there... on the 30th or 31st. I mean the only thing keeping me is those nye fireworks but who cares right? If im going to already miss the the GFs NYE party then who cares about just fireworks on the 30th.
And since i already had to pay for the LV room on the 30th and the RPC on the 31st i can use that money for universal and feel like im only spending $3700 for those 4 nights instead of the $5000. lol

I was a little under the weather after all my Bday drinks on Thursday night. (way too old to do that!!) Thanks Evie- I had a blast!!

M&P- What are the costs of the rooms over at Universal. Right now I am paying cash at the Beach Club Villas for two nights because there is no availability on points. My cash rate is around $600 a night. Just trying to see if there are any cheaper options out there over New Years. I thought about moving over to Sea World area. Anyone stay there before?? Any other thougths anyone??

I wish i could drink like i used to but one drink can put me to sleep now...heck, no drinks and i can fall asleep in 3 minutes

The prices i have include tickets for 5 so i dont know the breakdown but
$600 for portofino club level. and $500 for standard. I have no idea what the prices are without tickets.

I feel like such a nue with this. I looked al over and read as much as i could about the HRH but there just isnt the same amount of info that there is with disney.

I am suffering right now with neck/shoulder pain. Does anyone frequent a chiropractor? No OTC meds seem to help and I don't want to be taking muscle relaxers or pain killers.

it is still very warm and humid here which means lots of mosquitos!!!

I only like those pain killers when im sure the kids wont wake up and i can relax in bed ahhhhhhh

Gob is hysterical! I love Will Arnett! I didn't know for the longest time ,that him and Amy Poehler were married. They are both so funny!
I love Arrested Develoment. I saw it for rent at Blockbuster and I need to rent it for some laughs!

DD wants to take a friend to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" tommorow - sounds like a winner! The guys went to the Auburn game so DD and I are going to shop!

Boy that sucks!! you should call back and curse abit more abut the wire but that won't do anything so...

Ive used dells my whole life until i had 2 laptops get the blue screen of death and they couldnt help me fix them so this time i bought 2 HPs. so far im happy.

Marvel- I booked HRH for the end of our Spring Break! We liked the Portofino but it is really spread out and HRH is all in one building! I was surprised that we prefer it to PBH ,but we do! One of the only weird things about HRH is that the pool doesn't have a deep end. Your kids are younger, so that might be a good thing!
That's a tough choice about the rooms! I would want the Club Level for the food but a 2br would sure be nice! I've never heard of a suite not having concierge access!? weird! Can it be added? Not that you want to pay anymore!

Your package is probably cheaper, but we always do the $94 "unlimited 2 park access for 7 days" tickets. Sometimes they go as low as $79 or as high as $99. Right now, they're $94. We have 4 in our family, so its a good deal for us!

On universal's website where they list the rooms there are spots where they will list a room and say that you can add club level to it...
and if it comes available i can add it later. I guess if someone else cancels a room that they added it to.

thats a great price for 7 days but and thier APs aren't much more..

As of right now i think ill check out of RPC on the 30th and then do 4 nights in the 2 bedroom at universal and drive home on the 3rd.
I guess i can survive without club level for a few days

Hi, all!! Well the girls got their butts kicked again. THe team (and parents) are demoralized and beaten down. We have the nicest coaches and kids but they aren't aggressive enough.

Marvel....If it's just that difference in money I would do the suite. PBH is VERY VERY HUGE and the concierge lounge is about as inconvenient as it can be. It seems like a mega after thought to have it and the CL rooms so high. That hotel had no WOW factor for me. Personally..and YMMV...I thought it was "uppity". I have heard that used about the GF... BUT PBH...that is uppity.

HRH is probably more to my taste but I wanted the larger "deluxe" concierge room at PBH....live and learn.

I did buy myself an AP at UO. You get discounts on dining, and souvies, and room if you have an ap. MIght be worth it to just buy one. Problem is...I kept forgetting to use it for the disounts! I THINK it's 20% off dining and 20% off souvies...and that might be a good deal if it's the same still and works during that holiday period.

I would leave WDW after your rpc stay. I bet UO does a fabulous NYE celebration.

Andrea great to see ya back! Sorry about the pain!!! Sounds like it was contagious....Marvel had it a while back. Go to the chiropractor....I don't *LOL* but my mother does and he works wonders on her back.

Afternoon All


Shelli.....sorry about your computer....that stinks . We bought a Gateway 7 years ago and it went out just ONE YEAR after we had it.....just a week or so AFTER the 1 year warranty ran out (we didn't buy the extended)...and Gateway wouldn't budge on helping us . We then decided to try a Dell and we've had the same computer for 6 years without one bit of trouble (knock on wood) . DS wants a laptop for Christmas so we'll probably go with Dell again.....hopefully it'll hold up the same as our desktop .


Chan.....It's not my birthday......mine was in August.....sorry for the confusion . We're going out to dinner tonight with my family for my brother and sister's birthdays and then tomorrow we're doing lunch with my in-laws for my MIL's birthday . Sorry about the soccer game . We had football last night.....we lost.........but I know how you feel about a team that just can't do it . Our defense is awesome and has been all season.....it's the offense that just can't get the job done . It was bad enough that we got beat.....but there was a loud mouth right behind us in the stands that just wouldn't shut up . We sat and listened to him for the first 2 quarters just knocking the coaches and the plays....finally I couldn't take it anymore and turned around and let him have it....I was sooo mad . Needless to say there were ALOT of people staring at us . Then DH turned to me and quietly said "that's enough". Well...I was done at that point but OMG........I don't even think the guy has a kid on the team....but we really don't know for sure.....nobody seems to know who he is . I told him nobody there wanted to listen to him degrade the coaches or the team and that he should support the team....not slam them!!!! Then a few others got into it with different fans as the game went on over the same thing.....it was quite a heated night in the stands . It's a good thing the season is just about over because things could get ugly fast .


Marvel.....We've never stayed at any of the Universal resorts so I can't comment on either of your choices, but we have walked around HRH and it looks like a neat place to stay . We are considering adding 2 nights at HRH at the beginning of our Disney trip in July. Good luck with your decision .

GUESS WHAT WE HAVE LIVING IN OUR HOUSE.....I thought they were just wasps but I was schooled by the bug man and they are hornets. OMG!! HORNETS. I am freaking out. I have swatted, smashed or stepped on atleast 30 today. IN MY LIVING ROOM. The kids aren't even scared anymore. They just say, "Hey Mom there's another one." We think they have came in though our fireplaces and now they have made nests. Yes nestSSSSSSS!

We are bombing the house when we leave. Which, by the way, can anyone tell me how many days I have left ?!?!

Gotta go be a wasp killa now. I see 3. I am not kidding you.

LOL while I'm typing this my daughter is saying theres one crawling mommmmmaaaaa! I think they (the hornets) are kinda loopy from the poison we have been spraying up our chimney. They still buzz and fly around, but they run into walls and windows and limp around a lot. They are the nice hornets - they haven't tried to attack us

Deb- I think you are right to get a Dell. I have had 4 of them in the past 10 years and every one has been great. 3 are still in service (the oldest of those is 7 yrs and going strong.) My mistake in trying something else.

Traci- You are so calm about the hornets, I would be freaking out. We had a small nest in the shed this summer and I was freaking out about that. In my livingroom??? I would be at a hotel before the first one hit the carpet. (I am a total chicken!) Enjoy your trip! How many days left???

Chan- I can't believe your on-again, off-again trip is almost here. How fun! I hope you guys have a great time. WooHoo

Marvel- Just think about New Year celebrating being warm instead of frozen...who cares which fireworks you see...it is not sub zero

I just got my kids and wasps to bed. The nice thing about my hornet family is that at night they sleep (or hibernate whatever) they don't fly around when it's dark. I have my swatter ready so tomorrow morning I'll be smacking them! I may take a pic and post so you can see how serious I am

Traci ~ OMG.....HORNETS . You're so brave.......I'd be running out of the house so fast I'd be knocking over everything and everybody that was in my way . I can't stand bees, wasps, hornets....you name it and I'm gone . I hope you get rid of them soon . And your trip is getting closer....how many more days ?


Shelli ~ I've thought of trying a different computer brand but having such good luck with our Dell, I keep telling myself that's the way to go for a laptop.....so we will most likely stick with it . And about the hornets........put me on the chicken list cuz I freak everytime I see one even if it's outside......so put one in my house and I'm a raving lunatic . I don't get close enough to kill them.......half dead or not...I just run the other way .

Honestly I am deathly afraid of wasps, bees, scorpians and spiders. The hornets have truly tested my fears. I have no choice but to confront those little suckers. We just built our house (moved in few short months ago) and live in the country. There is just no escaping them!

Traci......WOW....only 12 more days !!! It will be here before you know it . We also live in the country and I know all too well that there's no escaping those things . They haven't been as bad this year as they've been in past years, but they are STILL around with this warm weather we continue to have and I hate it (the bees/wasps...not the warm weather ).....but I guess I'll take the little suckers over our COLD Chicago weather because I am NOT ready for winter .
