I'd really like to just put them in the car and start driving...

I want to audition so bad but I will tell ya, I honestly could not imagine working right now. This is the ONLY gig I have ever wanted to do at WDW.

That would be so cool...do it!!!

Oh ya....I was gonna tell ya Deb, I have no problem taking tons and tons of pics and posting til your head spins. I wish more peeps would!!!! (BS and HCTS...hint hint) I will make an annoyance of myself and you'll be saying NO MORE NO MORE.....

Traci! Yes, Amy brings up a good point. If you want a nice doll for DD...they have gorgeous ones in Germany that she can "make"...well more like plan how she wants it to be made and then watch the dollmaker make the doll. They aren't cheap though but they will last and not look like some trashed prom queen after 24 hrs. I need to take a pic of our Aurora dolls...you guys would laugh. ALso...disappointingly they did away with the Disney dresses in Germany!!! I don't know why!!!

Kelly, I am sure you've seen that Alice doll in Germany....she's gone! They don't do those dresses anymore....I am so sad. I always hoped the girls would choose a disney outfit but they never did.

Oh ya...one week from today I will be panic packing. Those Ebayers haven't even sent me the cute Disney outfits yet! I have the bows though.

Mandy!! Try out!! What a wonderful thing to make you feel good....singing with a wondeful choir and in the Candlelight Processional. I say GO FOR IT!!!

We've never gotten a Germany doll either. DH said he could get one for a much better price when he's in Germany. For some reason, he's never gotten one - I need to ask him- that would make a good Christmas present!

I think the "My Disney Girl" outfits fit the American Girl Dolls. I need to go up and try one on one of DD's AG dolls!

Anyone buy DVDs from out of the country?

i recently bought a tv show on dvd but i bought from Europe because the american edition didnt have all of the music in each episode...something about not paying for the rights for the music for dvd collections.
I guess the law is different in europe cause the episodes are not cut nor is any of the music replaced..
anyway......

The discs are coded for region 2 ( usa is region 1) and won't play in our dvd players although they will play on my computers.

So I bought a dvd player on amazon where someone posted a code to make that particular dvd player play any dvds from any region.
Got the player last night, puched in the code and it worked!!

i think im more excited about this than i should be but....

Princesses....we have several of the German dolls and the Disney Girl outfits fit on them and the AG dolls!! BUt the Disney Girl doll clothes are crappy too aren't they? I have been kind of disappointed for years in Disney quality....their merchandise is terrible. I have as much or more fun when the girls have their German dolls made. They are expensive....but it's fun. I never buy much in Epcot becuase I think it's all WAY overpriced and WAY overrated. I live in the sticks and we can still get much of the same stuff here or online. I am kinda sick of the same old stuff they have in those shops, too. I buy my Dale sweaters online directly from Norway and they are sooo much cheaper...I cringe at what they charge in Epcot.

OK...I am off to do some errands.

Marvel, it's funny you mentioning DVD players. Ours died about a month ago and I have been looking at adds and stuff trying to decide what to get. WE have a plasma HD TV and we want a better player but there is NO way I am getting a blueray player. I think we are gonna get one the up converts but it all sounds like the peanuts teacher when we are front of a salesman! Whaah Whaah Whaah! I Just want a DVD player I don't care about all the technical mumbo jumbo!

BTW: Thanks for all your on auditioning. I am still thinking about it and of course I gotta get DH opinion. I just don't know about heading off to work now.... a few more years and a few more kids in school and I could. We will see I am gonna talk with my friends and just find out what I would need to sing for the auditions. The good thing is when I do decide to try again I have 3 friends that sing in VOL and they have been trying to get me to try out so they will all be able to give me lots of help!

Amazing how you can get a bare bones dvd player for like $30 isn't it?
I bought a dvd/vcr combo that we put in the kids tv room since we still have tons of vcr tapes.

the new one i bought is supposed to play all types of discs... dvd vcd svcd divx and picutre dics...mp3 jpeg...i dont even know what all of those mean KWIM?


Advice time...

I know the kids are going to love universal... I have to start driving home early on sat jan 3rd so do i stay 3 nights check in on NYE and give myself 2 full days (jan 1 and 2) or 4 nights check in on 12-30 and have 3 full days (dec 31, jan 1 and 2)?

im already going to miss the NYE celebration at the GF... if i go for the 4 nights i'll also miss the NYE fireworks on the 30th.

OK, I feel like a pin cushion!!

I took DS to the Dr. today to get a flu shot (also had them peak at his throat for strep and they said he is fine so far ). Since DS and I see the same Dr. I asked if I could have a flu shot too. Well, I haven't seen the Dr. in almost 2 years so I needed a physcial first. Since he had time, he gave me one.

So I had a flu shot, a tetnus shot (mine is about 15 years since my last one) and they drew blood to check my cholesterol et al since that has been about 10 years since it was checked.

I almost passed out when I got on the scale!! No wonder my pants are tight!!! I guess I need to stop baking so much!!

Mandy- I think you should try out for the Voices of Liberty- I love listening to them at CP!!!!

Marvel- see if Universal is doing anything cool for fireworks either of those 2 days

First time it was 300 and the second was 240 i think....

I bet there is a spot on here for universal but i just jump from resorts to park and back..ill have to looka round and see what i can find.

One more question

Would you take 2 Portofino bay rooms that are club level

or fit in one 2 bedrrom suite at Hard rock that is not club level?

Afternoon All

Just got back from lots of running and DSs will be home soon . My how the days fly by .


Chan ~ You can't take enough pics for me......I'm a picture freak . Everyone in my family just shakes their head at me because I am CONSTANTLY taking pictures of something.....especially when we're on vacation . I'll be your partner in crime for taking pics as I can never take enough . I've gotten better about having pics out around the house but I used to be so bad that I wouldn't even cover up old pics......I'd just buy more frames . But eventually it got SO CROWDED that I ran out of space to keep putting more out.....so I decided it was time to reduce them around the house . But that just meant buying more albums to put them in . So bring on as many pics as you can....I'm ready to see someone as crazy as I am since everyone around here thinks I'm nuts .

Kelly.....You've got another picture-crazy person around here .

Mandy - does seasonal mean just for Christmas? If so, mabye that would be a good way to ease back into working! I know part time is even a big commitment with kids!

Marvel....I wasn't thrilled with Portofino....the rooms are dark and the furniture is large scale...it seemed tight IMO. And the fact that the lounge is off the lobby...VERY INCONVENIENT. The food was good but it was an OLDER crowd....lots of middle aged couples. REally.....kind of strange vibe.

I would love the suite! Are ya sure it doesn't have concierge service?? That seems odd..... I liked the look of HRH. If we do UO again I would do HRH.

JMO...YMMV.

The suites that are on the club floor or have club access are sold out.

Since I need 2 regular rooms... the price diff is about $1000 more for the suite over 4 nights....so $250 more a day for the suite.

Marvel....ok...so you mean the suite withOUT club access is that much more than two PBH rooms WITH club access??? If that is what you're saying I think I would do the PBH 2 rooms with the club access. JMO.....That is a lot of difference....and I hate paying that much money for the unknown. It never fails and I am bummed and have regrets & buyer's remorse. I always expect MAGNIFICENCE for that kind of money...and then it doesn't live up to my expectations. PBH is nice....that style is just not my favorite. It's dark heavy Italian, tapestry like stuff but the club lounge was large and had good food...*shh.....* better then the Disney hotels...including GF. We only stayed there one time so I am really not the best at giving advice on UO or their hotels.

Morning all!

I was a little under the weather after all my Bday drinks on Thursday night. (way too old to do that!!) Thanks Evie- I had a blast!!

M&P- What are the costs of the rooms over at Universal. Right now I am paying cash at the Beach Club Villas for two nights because there is no availability on points. My cash rate is around $600 a night. Just trying to see if there are any cheaper options out there over New Years. I thought about moving over to Sea World area. Anyone stay there before?? Any other thougths anyone??

I will probably just stay put since we are already moving once during the trip. I am getting more and more excited.

Have a great day. I am going to my niece's marching band competition today. She actually did years of this and now is an instructor. It is supposed to be beautiful today!!

Harvest is in FULL swing and dh is a total CRAB. I hope I make it through the next month.

I am on my way out for an early soccer game!!

Vanessa....I can't do that anymore either......I feel miserable after too much booze. One of the things that reminds me I am getting older. Never did Sea World in Orlando but we did in San Diego....yuck. It didn't thrill us at all....well Jojo liked it. Universal would probably do fun things for NY. You can go to the Loews (I think I spelled it right) website and check the hotel availability and rates.

I promised that was IT. I am getting excited but then again nervous......This time next week I will be up and running to get everything together to leave for the airport.

Hey, everyone. I've missed you all! This is the first few minutes I have had to breathe in weeks!

Just wanted to chime in and say Hannah's Aurora doll also sports a rat's nest on her head. It must be "THE LOOK" these days. LOL. It totally bothers me that she carries it around by the hair, but oh well. She enjoys her at least!

Mandy, you should totally audition. I was a singer a looong time ago in college for this great group, 100+ mixed voices and once a year we sang with the Boston Pops. My voice has not been used since and I really miss it. Sounds like a great opportunity for you!

I am suffering right now with neck/shoulder pain. Does anyone frequent a chiropractor? No OTC meds seem to help and I don't want to be taking muscle relaxers or pain killers.

We are relaxing today. Hannah's school has a "Family Fest" at a local small amusement park tonight. Should be fun, but it is still very warm and humid here which means lots of mosquitos!!!
