Mandy -- how is your Dad? I hope Conner's second day goes even better than his first. Good for you for giving him such a good base of skills that he can go in to accelerated!

Channing -- I'm glad you decided to go on your trip. I always enjoy getting to see pics of the clothes/spending spree before you go. Keep those pics coming!

Shell -- my boys are all going on a Dad's campout with the school this weekend, so my agenda includes lots of clean-out. I wasn't going to do my linen closet, but having seen yours, I might add it to my growing list. Can you send your girl to Texas for the weekend? :)

Hi Girls and M&P

Busy day here trying to get lots of stuff done...

Fell very behind on the you know L.....:rotfl: and I think I'll be folding until midnight...:scared1:

Shelli What a closet transformation:) how long did it take...my linen closet always has too much stuff in it ....I'm going to try Mandys sheet idea...anything that'll help...

Mandy Glad to hear your DS had a good first day and a new best friend too:)
thats great...

Vanessa The whole economy thing is awful-I dont watch the news that DH's domain...I already stress too much::headache:

M&P and Marci I think the VIP tours sound terrific-I remember when Brook posted about how much better it made her trip..seems like it really allows you to make the most of a day... (even an area to view the parades-how nice)...enjoy! Maybe we'll have to try that some time???

Off to the supermarket...cant remember where I put the coupons:confused:
I'll probably find them after I get back home...

Have a nice day all:flower3:

It sounds like a couple of us were on the phone to VIP this morning....:rolleyes1

Marvel -- did you ask for parade viewing at MK in case you are there through the parade? Availability goes quick on holidays.

I didn't know you had to ask...no has ever mentioned that to me before. And last time at both DS and Mk there were few other people there besides us.

thanks for the heads up!

EDITED** just got off the phone and was told that the woman i spoke to this morning already had a request in for us for the parade viewing. Thanks again, Marci

Hey Mandy!!! I am glad your son did ok with his first day. I think he will love being in school...and if you can avoid anymore CSI-esque clean-ups you might be able to enjoy the little break only having 3 will give you. (Just imagine how clean you can have his room if he is gone from it for 7 hours a day :rolleyes1 ) Thank you for the support and advice on the closet cleaning! My helper is an amazing kid and I am really loving that if I say it is closet cleaning day then she really makes sure I do the job.
It really only took an hour (well with 2 of us that is!!)
I am cranky today. Yelling at both sons, made one cry at school (yelled at him for losing his iPod!!) Then I told the other one that he can either shape up or go live in foster care (he thinks his ADD meds are optional...they are you have a choice brat: take them or move somewhere else!).

A great day all around!!!

Shelli Have had many of those days over the years...;) When DSs were younger and misbehaved I used to tell them that I was sending them off to military school!!! Now they tell me they werent even sure what that was...:rotfl: it just sounded scary...:scared1: Boys you gotta love em....

Well you know, Mr. Marvel, you are probably considered a VIP while the rest of us nobodys have to ask... ;) JK -- my guide told me to always ask in case it is a busy day. :) Patrick told me that even for holidays they don't usually book up all the tours on the first day of availability, but the parade viewing often does.

OK, Martha Stewart officially checking in today!!

:worship: To Shelli for the closet (As Martha would say, Organizing- It's a good thing!)

:worship: :worship: To those planning ahead for parade viewing on Christmas etc. (As she would say, Planning Ahead- It's a VERY good thing!)

As for me, this kind of cloudy, cool crisp day inspired me to pull out the cookbooks. So I reached for Ina Garten's this time and am making Roast Chicken with roasted red potatoes and a homemade apple crisp for dessert. Can't wait for the heavenly smell of chicken, garlic and thyme :cloud9:

I figure all this cooking will distract me as I eagerly await the start of tonight's game  Alas, no tickets tonight, but we are good to go for either game 3 or 4 against the Rays this weekend :rolleyes1

TTFN!

My dad is doing well. He is still in the hospital. Tomorrow will be a week this time around. They are not even talking about discharge yet. He has to get the heprin a coumadin levels correct before he can go home. So we wait. I talked to him this morning and he sounded winded so I don't know. :confused3

Thanks for asking!

Well, Conner is home from school and the first thing he told me was he got in trouble for tattling. That is my pet peeve and it is unlike him to tattle so I asked him what it was about and he said a kid would not let him have a turn on the computer. They were suppose to take turns an the other kids was mean and said to bad. I am about to email his teacher and let her know that I would appreciate her class rules to be sent home so I can go over them with him so he will understand what is acceptable and not acceptable behavior. The teacher kinda gave me a little eye roll when I told her he had been home schooled up to that point. I have a feeling she has a prejudice again homeschooling like a few teachers I know. We shall see what she has to say. I normally side with adults but I don't feel like he did anything wrong.

I don't get that at all...for what possible reason could he get in trouble...especially if they are supposed to take turns...isn't the teacher there to make sure everyone gets a turn?

Hey, all!! Marci!! Long time no see.:goodvibes Glad things are going well!! Wow!! You guys and your VIP guides.:) I will wait for the verdict on those. DH laughed when I told him about that as a possibility. He is so UN Disney. And Mr Cheap, too.:rotfl: (I guess those two things go together;) ) Sounds like you guys are going to have FANTABULOUS Christmas trips.:wizard:

I had to report in....Marvel...GUESS WHAT I BOUGHT TODAY?!?!?!!?!? The "My THREE SONS" Season 1 complete set!!!:rotfl: I saw it at Target and snagged it! I LOVE old shows...and I love that show. I thought since you are a Fred MacMurray fan you should know it's out there.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

OK...I have been out like CRAZY all day. NOw I have to get some stuff done. Talk to ya later!!!

PS..Kristin that sounds delish for dinner!! I LOVE love love me some applecrisp.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Mandy...I hate when teachers do that junk. He TOLD instead of hitting that creepy greedy kid that didn't seem to want to SHARE the computer. Hello!?!?!? THAT is NOT tattletailing IMO. I am glad he wasn't upset today and hopefully it will keep getting better and better.

Chan

I also am confused about getting in trouble for tattling :confused3 Especially at this age when they are still learning about taking turns etc.

I think it is great that you are being pro-active with getting the rules. Keep fighting the good fight :goodvibes

:wizard: for your dad as he continues to recover

ETA: Chan, did Jo end up at school today??

Hey, that's great! I'd love to see that! I haven't seen it in some time.

A point on the VIPs As time goes by im not sure if I will always want to use them but at least right now with the little ones it sure makes things so much easier. Maybe when we aren't carrying one or two and pushing a third we will feel different....
As i type im thinking i would still use it. Its nice to see more than the big thrillers of the parks. I loved that the guide made sure we were going to do the ...um...drawing attraction in DS... where they show you how to draw a charcter. What a great keepsake and we laugh each time we look how horribly we did.
The guide was a relaxed pace where I was used to rushing around.

I also liked that they asked me what guide I had last time so that we might get the same person. When i mentioned she had been promoted they told me they would call her and ask her for a recommendation on who we should get.

Evening Gals....

watching the Sox right now...crossing my fingers!
Speaking of fingers...I was making dinner and sliced a chunk with a flap off my knuckle...There was blood everywhere and I am so not good with blood. Good thing DS was home to get me a bandaid while I put pressure on it...OMG it hurts(I dont do pain very well)

Mandy..glad your son is doing well at school! We have had 2 families at our school in the past who have either come from HS or went back to HS...one family is truly focused on their kids and the kids have blossmed and are brilliant. Gifted, KWIM?? Mom just felt she could meet their needs better/7th grader is doing college level classes...I totally respect her/their decision.
The other family well lets just say it was done for the convienence of MOM...first they were at school, then she pulled one out and left one in. Back and forth this went on with 4 kids....That was one messed up family...last I heard the boy(who was OFF) rode his bike NAKED home from middle school, about 1 mile :scared1:

Vanessa...how bout those fing SW rates???? I know its my fault for going at a holiday..but come on cut us a little slack:confused3

Sheli...Im too pooped right now to clean a closet. Im lucky if I get my laundry done:scared:

Kel..where are you...I will email you my list!

OK off to watch game, jim thome just jacked one....bout time:rolleyes1

hehe I put my fireplace on!
dawn

Evening all :).

Mandy ~ I can't believe your DS got in trouble for tattling :scared1:.... OMG.....and for the teacher to give you an eye roll when you mentioned him being homeschooled up to this point...all I can say is   !!!! I guess that hits a nerve with me because I homeschooled my two DSs....my now highschooler was homeschooled for 4th/5th grade and my now 8th grader was 3rd/4th/5th grade....then they both went back when they reached middle school (6th grade) :teacher:. I know alot of teachers can't stand the fact that kids are homeschooled, but I think sometimes some kids learn MORE getting schooled at home than at school . I was a little nervous when my two entered middle school coming off of homeschooling but they have done great :). They both have maintained A/B grades and passed the ISTEPs with flying colors....with my older DS passing with PASS PLUS and recommended for honors math and science..........so I guess I did something right . And so have you.....especially since your DS tested for accelerated classes :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2. And good for you for contacting the teacher for the rules :thumbsup2. Hang in there....I'm sure it will get better with each day :flower3:. And glad to hear your dad is doing better :goodvibes :goodvibes.

Dawn ~ All I can say is :scared1: :scared1: about the boy riding his bike home from middle school NAKED  :scared1: :scared:!!!!! How's your finger??? OUCH :scared:!!!

Hope everyone is having a good night :).

Deb :rolleyes1

Evening all! Guess what? As I am typing out my email this afternoon I get a phone call from his teacher and I said oh great I was just emailing you! :rotfl: We discussed him behavior issues and he did have issues about being whiny about the other kids not sharing BUT she said she made him move his name to yellow because he did not want to pay attention during story time. She said "For me story time is not just a thing I do to kill time, we learn and I ask the kids questions" HE scooted over to the bookshelf and got a spongebob book to look at instead of listening and got BUSTED! Oh well I am glad it was not the way HE told the story!

Have a great night !

Good morning gals. Still a little down and out but I thought I would post and say Hi.

Dawn~ I looked yesterday again and nothing. I checked a Ding yesterday and saw the ding to Omaha from Chicago and just laughed. I have no had anything on ding for Orlando for either Chicago or St. Louis. Indy has a cheaper rate but the flight leaves too early for us so I will just keep waiting.

I have meetings all day so have a good one! I'll catch up later. :)

Good Morning

I am getting DS off to school and the other one breakfast. I am so glad things are getting Mando!

V-PLaying the air game is torture. I hope you have a good day today!

Chan I hope Jojo is getting better!

Morning All! Hi Kelly...I was not home last night to get your e-mail. Sorry I missed you and Mandy.

Mandy I'm really glad your son was not really in trouble from tattling. That seemed so mean of the teacher- whoshould be trying to make his first few days great, not being mean!!! (grr!, mean teachers = pet peeve of mine :)) Grabbing a book from the shelf and not doing story time is not "ok", but it is really NORMAL!!!

Tonight I will have the computer (Poor 13yo son does not love losing his computer to me...TOO BAD! :) )

I still have to find time to sit down and talk with my oldest son about his school work. I am underwhelmed by his effort so far this year!!

And just to be cheerful, NOT! It is raining again!!! I should have had fins instead of hands, I am going to need fins soon to get from my house out to the road. (My driveway turns into a pond when it rains.)

"n- n- now th- that don't kill me
can only make me stronger"

I am really in a good mood, honestly...I just need a trip to Disney to plan. :)

Oh- Did I mention Hubbys job might be moving - AGAIN?!?!?
He is already 3 hrs away, It might be a 7hr commute soon GRRR! They are talking New Jersey. And I will not be moving with him, imho, kids need continuity and stability...his job moves too much to give them that (every 9-18 months.) I just hope they give him enough of a raise to pay for my Disney Cruise in 2010...he says no cruise, but I always win :rolleyes1
