Good Morning!!!

Kelly - I hope your feeling better today!!

Kristin - So sorry to hear about the strike!!

Channing - I love your kitchen sick pictures. Thank you for sharing. I may get one of those in December. My dad loves ice cream and I would love to see his face when they bring it out.

Today is my birthday and my office has brought so much food that we will be eating all day :thumbsup2 . My husband took off work today (I think he needs to go shopping) and said he is going to have a big supper ready when I get home. I didn't know that 36 could be so much fun!

Hope everyone has a good day - Lisa.

Does anyone know if they do anything special for Christmas for the HDDR? So far we only have Artist Point booked and thinking the HDDR would be fun if they do something Christmassy, is that a word? Has any one done the sleigh ride at FW? I hear that it is better than the one at the WL. We are taking DS's DGF for her first time during Christmas and want to do as much as we can. She will probably be off to grad school next year and it may be a few years before she gets a chance to go again.

Not sure how different the sleigh ride at WL is vs. FW, but we did the one at WL 5 years ago and we loved it :thumbsup2. I've read reports that FW is better but we've only done the one so I can't compare them . I actually didn't even know there were two different ones until I started reading some threads on it :confused3. I'm sorry but I can't answer your question on HDDR as we've never been :rolleyes1. But have a great trip.....we loved Disney in December when we went in 2003 :santa: :santa:. We can't wait to get back that time of year.....hopefully it will be 2009 .

Deb TEENS....:headache: every day is an adventure...

Isn't that the truth :rotfl: :rotfl:. They know EVERYTHING and mom and dad know NOTHING.....it's a neverending battle :headache:. Gotta love the teenage years :lmao:.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :bday: party:!!!!! Way to go to your DH for making you dinner :thumbsup2. We take the easy way out here and go OUT for dinner on birthdays :rotfl: :rotfl:. Enjoy your day :flower3:.

Deb :upsidedow

Lisa!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes Enjoy your day!!!!:flower3: :flower3:

Kristin!
  I heard about the strike on the news this morn.:headache: That is a shame. I hope it gets resolved quickly. Isn't that the truth...about the two working parents. They are stuck. At least you are home. Have to look at the bright side..... That is just crappy for the kids though. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR JUNE TRIP, EITHER!!!!! What if you had flights booked already? The strike is not under your control. Have fun with your DS today.:goodvibes Maybe bake something?!? Does he like doing that? Baking together was one of each of my kids favorite things to do.:goodvibes I will cross my fingers the teachers can work it out. A 5% raise sounds pretty decent to me. I know the co DH works for USED to give that, but lately they've really REALLY cheaped out.

Kelly!!! FEEL BETTER! Is your face swollen and purple and yellow? I remember when Zack had his 4 wisdom teeth out it was fine for the first two days and then his face swelled up and he was a wreck for about a week. I hope you still get to go out to lunch. Take your meds and let somebody else drive. You'll feel good just to get out and forget your troubles for a little while.

Deb!
How could you be in Orlando & not go to the parks!?!?! I would freak....we want to go to the Keys sometime but I don't even know how I can be in FL and not do WDW.:rotfl: It would feel wrong.:rotfl2:

We've taken the WL "sleigh" ride a few times. We usually go to WDW for Thanksgiving but we aren't this year. *sigh*....really having to rearrange a lot of our usual plans because we have a crabby DS.

OMG..I got totally sidetracked from the sleigh ride talk.... it's kind of OK at WL...you just go down the path toward the petting zoo and back. Very dark and quiet. Nothing to see. There was no Xmas music when we went. The horse had jingle bells. It felt dorky to even talk to eachother because it was sooo quiet and the driver would just be listening to our conversation. We did it twice and not after that. I personally recommend it for one time. After that eh. It's a novelty that's about it. I haven't heard anything about the Ft WL ones.

DS started not wanting to go with us anywhere on vacations at about age 16. It started the afternoon before we were set to fly to Disneyland. He was packed, even. He found a friend's family to stay with!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I got a Jet Blue credit and sold it on Ebay.:thumbsup2 (along with his DL ticket).....from then on he hasn't gone with us much. He did go in July but spent 90% of his time alone....and on his cell keeping touch with his real life up here. We were thinking about taking a friend with in July but 2 wks is a long time and I didn't know how that would play out. Also....we'd need two rooms and why we'd want to put ourselves out with that is beyond DH. He feels like DS has ruined a bunch of our trips with his attitude and made us miserable....so why play into it. If he wants to stay home he does. In July it just didn't work out that he had other plans.;) He couldn't book himself a room anywhere else.:rotfl: So we were all stuck together. He met up wiht us in the evenings for dinner and that was about it. He'd sleep til 1. go to DTD and then dinner with us and maybe late EMH.:confused3 He used to LOVE WDW...but he's been going since he was 1 for like 2 to 3 wks a year...so it's old news at this point.

My basement is fine....it was a big puddle right in the center.:confused3 DH insists the pumps are owrking or it would have been much much worse. it's never happened at all before....so not sure. It was an awful lot of rain though.

Talk to ya later...have to walk.

Chan:)

Good morning, everyone. I feel sicky today; Yesterday I was sooo tired and I got plenty of rest during the day so I was hoping I would wake up refreshed this morning. Well, I woke up at 1 AM and couldn't sleep. Oh, it was miserable. Today I am suffering with a sore throat and a house to clean. (See, I didn't mention the "L" word. Haha.)

Chan, I love those Kitchen Sink pics. That one of JoJo is a classic. I actually recently discovered coffee ice cream. I never ever liked it before. I thought it was gross. But my mom and I tried it with lots and lots of hot fudge and I am in heaven. It is my new weakness. I wouldn't want it without the fudge though. Something about the bitter coffee taste and the wonderful chocolate does it for me. :rotfl:

Kristin, so sorry about the strike. But TRY to enjoy your time with Kyle. Sometimes I wish Hannah was still home all day. I miss her! (But only sometimes!)

Kelly, glad you are feeling a bit better!

Have a great day, everyone. I am Lysoling the house and changing the sheets and trying to get out the germs. It is supposed to be a little cooler here this week (Think 80 instead of 95!) and I am hoping to open the windows for a bit at some point!

No lunch. I still to bad. My face is all swollen and I feel like crap. I took some more meds and I am trying to get some work done and play with Anty.

Chan ~ I know.....not doing Disney parks in March was different, but knowing it was spring break/Easter week made it a little easier knowing the parks were very crowded and we weren't there :rotfl:. We did the same family trip in March 2007 and we ended up doing a few parks that year.....but it wasn't Easter....just spring break...so we didn't think the parks were too bad ;). Now I have to wait until July to go back :scared1: :scared1:. But that will make the GF all the more to look forward to :thumbsup2.

When DS says he doesn't want to go to Disney, I just tell him to suck it up cuz you're going :lmao: :lmao:. He goes grudgingly but when he gets to the parks, he enjoys the rides :yay:. But it takes alot to get him to the parks.....all he wants to do anymore is sleep late and lay around the room :headache:. I had to kick him out and get him down by the pool last year when we were at the Poly so they could clean the room . I try to remember that he's just at that age where all he wants to do is hang out and not do much :rolleyes1.

Kelly ~ Sorry you're still not feeling well :sad2:. I hope you start feeling better because all this sicky stuff has really been hanging on to you . I hope the meds start to kick in and you feel better soon .

arbonnette ~ Sorry to hear you're sick too . Feel better soon :flower3:.

Deb :)

Morning~

Ughh! The running back and forth and eating junk fast food has caught up with me I am not feeling well. I actually had a lot of heart palpitations and was lightheaded yesterday afternoon. I am feeling better today but still not as good as I normally feel. I actually gained 5 lbs, I think it is from all the siting and munching in the car and fast food. I haven't walked in a few weeks either. We took advantage of the valet parking at the hotel AND the hospital. Then, BAM! I am at church singing for like a hour and in high heals, i tuckered out after all that activity after days of being sedentary and getting heavier! This morning was back to my healthy diet and some elliptical time..... I hate that machine! :headache:

ANYWAYS! I had to read 4 pages to get caught up....... And I am in no mood to multi quote. YOu girls were chatty! I am ignoring all the post about ice cream and all that! I need to stay a away from that stuff right now!

My dad is doing better. He has to have a NG tube and he had some breathing and blood pressure issues but he is doing better. NO Oxygen or NG tube anymore. He is hoping to be released late in the week if he does well eating.

A few things:
Kristin I am mad fro you about the strike! 5% not being good enough is sad and greedy, get a life people! My hubby's raise was SUPPOSE to be 5% but all raises got cut to less than half...... He also is getting a smaller COLA (cost of living adjustment) He was down about it but I reminded him that yeah it sucked but it is still more. IMO a little more is better than none!

Ok, all this talk about Coffee ice cream and I have to share this! I shouldn't think about it much but I had to share! My grandmother makes this punch type thing called Coffee Frap! It is strong brewed coffee, coffee ice cream, and heavy whipping cream. It is so delish! People lap it up when she makes it! :rotfl: :drinking1

Kelly Get better girl! I hat that you are hurting, it seems like your mouth can make your whole head hurt!

Chan I have to say your DS being your oldest and being a turkey doodle makes me worry, only 10 more years and I will have 4 teenagers!:scared1: My son already wants to be alone. I think being home all day with 4 women takes it toll on him! :rotfl: Poor guy!

OK I have to go finish home schooling and start making lunch and figure out our dinners for the week!

TTYL!

Lisa~Happy Birhtday!!! ... enjoy the day:) and dinner too..

Hope everyone starts to feel better, Mandy stress will give you palpitations etc too( and you've had your share of that lately)...glad Dad is on the road to recovery again:)BTW that coffee drink sound yummy...

We have never done the sleigh ride but maybe I'll have to add that to the list of new things we'll be trying...

We still drag DSs along on vacation...not too much complaining...like you said Deb they sleep half the day away...:rotfl: less hours to complain.. its kind of hard to coordinate trips too as they get older ...

Since we are suppose to be throwing topics out to discuss, here you go:

Tattoos! This should be funny, a bunch of tangled sweaters discussing tattoos!

OK so my hubby has a wrist tat (pre me) but I love it. It is a two headed dragon with a tribal type style body. He got it in Germany at 19 and we have tossed around the idea of having it redone to kinda cover the dragon heads with their tongues touching :rotfl: I have also wanted one for a while but wanted to wait till I could think about a really good one since it will be there till.....well forever! I was joking with him last night about having a hidden Mickey tattooed on the tribal part and it hit me! I want to get four little tiny Mickey heads tattooed somewhere fro my kids! I want 3 of them to have little red bows for the girls. I am talking like tiny dime sized tats.

So anyone think I am a moron for thinking this is cute? Should I think longer about it? LOL! Are some of you shocked at the little church mouse conservative wanting a tat? :rotfl:

Tie up your sweaters, grab some tea, and discuss!:flower3:

*Tangles my sweater*

Tattoos are so NOT my thing. I can't imagine being 90 and having my great grandkids asking about it :rotfl:

But if you want to get one, by all means :goodvibes To each his (or her ;) ) own...

BTW: the next strike meeting doesn't appear to be scheduled until TOMORROW NIGHT!!! Guess that means we are off tomorrow too

Today is my birthday and my office has brought so much food that we will be eating all day :thumbsup2 . My husband took off work today (I think he needs to go shopping) and said he is going to have a big supper ready when I get home. I didn't know that 36 could be so much fun!

Happy Birthday.

I'm worried about you, this has gone on way too long.

And now to add insult to injury, the Park District cancelled soccer tonight due to the rain... poor kid is having a TOUGH day :sad1:

Thanks for the baking ideas! We made football brownies today (picture to follow later) and then picked up the Wilton football cake pan at Michaels with my 50% coupon and intend on trying the cocoa rice krispie football tomorrow (So much for living a low carb life :rotfl2: )

I have totally though about my grandkids..... but I figure I will be wrinkled and sagging and no one will think the tattoos were so bad to look at! I also think of a coroner having to note them in a autopsy report or the embalming people thinking "why does this woman have four Mickey heads on her body?"

I told my sister about my idea and she said so you are putting a polygamists Mickey and his 3 wives on you body? I was like "um, errr, never thought about it that way" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Probably will never happen  I think tiny tiny diamonds nose studs are beautiful but my hubby says NO! LOL, I am a rebel ya'll!

I am defiantly busting the GF " tangled sweater " mold! LOL!

Siobhan I told you I was not like other religious peeps! :rotfl2:

Poor fella! I have been a mean mommy today, they would not get their acts together to get done with breakfast so not morning playtime. It gets hot early here. We go out side early and late to avoid melting! :headache:

Actually we have a big fridge box I drag in teh living room and they go bazerk climbin gall over and through it! LOL

Your foot ball rice crispy cake sounds YUM-O! I LOVE Rice Crispy treats!

Happy Birthday.

I'm worried about you, this has gone on way too long.

I think I am finally getting better. The tooth is gone and my ear is almost clear. I am on clindamycin and vicodin and I feel way better than I did this morning.

Kel, I hope the pulling of the tooth is the "beginning of the end" of this for you!! :grouphug:

My 6pm strike update said they are meeting again tonight.... I guess that means another 5:30am phone call to tell me about school...sigh :guilty: ... this poor kid keeps going to bed at night hoping for school....

On a bright note: The White Sox just hit a 2 run bomb to tie the Yankees!! :cool1:
