Vanessa....here is one that is yummy!

2 cans artichoke hearts drained-chop them up into pieces
1 c mayo (not miracle whip)
8 oz mozz cheese
1 c parm cheese
garlic to taste

mix together and bake at 350 until hot and bubbly...serve with triscuits


Crabmeat app

8oz cream cheese
1 can shredded lump crab meat
1 jar tangy seafood sauce

spread cream cheese in a pie plate, pour over seafood sauce to cover cream cheese. spread crabmeat over the top...refridge for 1 hr to set
serve with crackers

Robin, have a great time!!! We have stayed at teh Poly a few times and it is OK....(and that is a stretch from me ) but the GF is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better. GF is wonderful.

Deb...sorry your son is sick. LOL on the governor....I think it IS is hair!!! It's just thick. It is like a helmet......I always thought he had an innocent face. OMG...am I naive. What a crook. I really don't like him now....after making me think he was Mr. Niceguy. Dawn sounds like she has a much clearer picture of him.

Vanessa, I always pack my Eddie B polarfleece....a long sleeve cashmere sweater and some long sleeve tees and turtlenecks...stuff that can be layered. We have been down there in Jan when it's been in the 30s in the eves and low like that in the mornings and we've worn down but it sounds like Lisa is there now and knows what's up.

I have recipes for spinach squares...love those....saganaki - omg..my family insists on this every Xmas...even though once I singed my ceiling ....and they love hot wings...but if you are looking for fancy...I am not teh one. We do casual. I am sure I have more but those are the favorites off the top of my head.

Siobhan those sound yummy. i have had the figs/proc(howver it's spelled)...and that chicken sounds like "Orange Chicken" from the Chinese place. Exactly! Hmmm.....I can think of more I know but i am in a rush to get Jojo MOVING!!!!!

Wow..that VIP Guide stuff is crazy. Marvel..I think you go to MK early, eat lunch at Cinderella's castle and then leave for GF time...or see other resorts. What do the kids want to do? Do they want to be in MK for Christmas and in the castle?!?!?!

I must have missed this yesterday...
That is just what i want to do but im just afraid that by 11am it will be so pakced we cant move. Lunch is at noon and if i cancel it has to be 24 hours before or we lose that money.
The kids do not even know we are going yet.
I think we are telling them this weeked. My son keeps asking to go for his birthday so I think we'll 'give' him the trip as one of his presents.

Careful Marvel- I "gave" Quin a huge outdoor wooden play set for his Birthday two years ago..then the older boys started wanting to know if they could have a super expensive gift too .

We carefully explained to them that it doesn't work that way, and as teens they kinda understood, but barely.

The next B-day Quin wanted to know if he could have another BIG ($$$$) gift.

We created monsters!!!!

Great point Sheli but this is the reverse situation here.
We once went around Halloween and my daughters b-day was near halloween so we said it was a present. My other dau has a summer b-day so we told her we were going for her birthday this past august. So exactly as you say my son says we went for thier b-days why cant we go for his? Luckily his b-day is near Christmas.
I bet he says we planned this anyway and it had nothing to do with him

OMG Shel......You hit the nail on the head....I couldn't agree with you more . My two are 15 and 13 and each year their wants get more expensive . DS15 is into music and guitars BIG TIME......and all he asks for are guitars and amps ......and those aren't cheap . And DS13 is into snowmobiling and dirt bike riding.......so again.....the things he wants keep getting more expensive each year . And my two always expect MORE each birthday and Christmas than the one before .


Chan........I can't believe that's his real hair . It looks like a stinkin' rug on his head it's so thick .


Marvel.....I'd post snow pics if I had any . All the rain we had yesterday wiped it all away and last night we only got a dusting . I do hope we get some for Christmas Eve and Day ....but after that I'll REALLY start looking toward spring .

Hey Gals and Marvel....

I am just popping on here to say hello! Life is busy with a 5th child

We went outside because the weather is gorgeous this morning and I raked leaves for about 3 hours and am pooped! The good thing is almost the entire back is done and now DH just has to come home and pick them up!

OK all you fretting about the weather all I can tell you is the 7 days forecast looks great! Friday is gonna be cool, highs around 65 but Saturday it is gonna warm up again and be mid 70's through next tuesday!

I would seriously plan for both warm and cool. It is so unpredictable here..... well anywhere!

Here is the link to the news station I check for Orlando weather: wesh dot com

I don't trust any forecast that is longer than 7 days. JMHO

OK gotta run I am nasty from raking in my crocs, lol I wore my Mickey ones and I have mickey shaped dirty spots!

BTW: My sister told me to use a spray bottle with water and touch of vinegar and spray the dog when she would not respond to "no" I am havign a horrible time getting her to leave the kids alone when they are at the table for meals or snacks, she thinks she can just jump up and eat their food. If I put her in her cage she barks and whines. I told her no and then sprayed her once and it has been meal time bliss since! Also worked when she tried to chew on a chair and would not stop when i told her no. Now i need to just pick up the bottle and she stops. Have any of you tried this? I don't want to abuse the spray bottle because i want her to learn to stop when i say no, i cant carry a bottle every where we go. Does have to be fro a long time or just when you are training them? Also, does this work on two legged children?

Thanks Mandy- I knew better than to look too far in the future. I am just a little stressed about finding clothes etc, outfits and all that. You know how it goes...especially with girls. I want them to match and look cute but we may have to just throw some stuff together!

It is 100 days until spring. This is my last spring update until I come back. No need for a spring countdown in Florida.

I do not take a coat with me. Just a fleece jacket and a sweatshirt. The pic of someone wearing a winter coat and gloves was probably someone from the south. They think 65 is cold.

I just got home from work. I am officially on VACATION.

Checked in for my flight and got A 18 and 19. Kristin, only 2 people beat me.

HIi Gals and Marvel!

Things have been sooo crazy here that I have not had time to DIS

But I have missed chattting with you all and hopefully things will slow down a bit now....

I was in Florida for work and did manage to get those few days in at Disney and it was great...ofcourse

Stayed at the CR and it was nice as always but my heart was at the Grand...I had lunch there at the GF Cafe...and spent time enjoying the shops and the beautiful lobby...the tree looks spectacular and that gingerbread house!! and it smelled yummy...

I even stayed and watched one of those demonstrations on how to make one...let me tell you she made it look effortless...I make a kit every year with my DD and niece and it NEVER looks that good...

I did see Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos getting off of the RPC elevator..they both looked georgeous...and so slim...

Princesses Did you stay in RPC...did you see them??

One thing I did notice is that the GF lobby was very crowded...much more so than usual the shops too...especially the lobby though...much more hustle and bustle..

I heard a bell choir play Christmas music...just wonderful!!!

If I wasnt in the holiday spirit before I sure am now...

The weather varied warm during the day(people were swimming) and cool (cropped pants and sweat shirt )in the evenings...Except for one night....the one that I went to MMVCP(was able to get last minute tickets..)...it was like 45 degrees... I was a little cold...long pants would have been nice...IF I'd brought any along that is...!

Let me say this to everyone who is going soon...EVERYTHING looks beautiful !!the castle with those special lights was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures...

My only regret is that I couldnt stay longer... well that and that I didnt stay at the GF....there is no place as nice at Christmas...Magical!

So here I am writting a novel again...when its disney I cold go on...and on...

Just want to add I hate the cold...how many more day until spring Maxie...

We stayed in SL on our last trip and loved it...I have never stayed in RPC which I know everyone says in incredible...but you will love SL too...nice CMs and the perks of staying CL are always sooo nice...ENJOY and have a safe trip

Stayed at the CR and it was nice as always but my heart was at the Grand...I had lunch there at the GF Cafe...and spent time enjoying the shops and the beautiful lobby...the tree looks spectacular and that gingerbread house!! and it smelled yummy...

I even stayed and watched one of those demonstrations on how to make one...let me tell you she made it look effortless...I make a kit every year with my DD and niece and it NEVER looks that good...

DF got me a kit because I mentioned I would like to make one. OMG it is horriffic! It's a little skewed and the icing is all globby and yucko looking! He was howling with laughter while he was watching me do it, and the dog was trying to "help"...it was just an all around fiasco...really fun to do but the end result is soooo bad I am embarassed to have it in my house! I was going to try to "improve" it this evening while watching Top Chef!
