BTW, I was scrolling through Circusgirl's photos again and just noticed the illustrations on the sides of the boxes. Looks like everyone will be happy to get a few more drawers this time around on the armoire, and the night stand looks pretty but maybe slightly less functional (less storage space, more leg).:magnify:

I asked this on the Concierge page..and got the answer from IPO..but wondering if anyone has used the Spa for the sauna's and steam rooms? I guess they charge you $25 for the visit and just wondered what was in there. AKL has it off the pool and it is free..just wondered what makes it so great (other than it being the SPA of all SPA's..lol)

Sheesh, I don't know!:scared: Did you use the facilities at AKL before or after the refurbs and switch to Senses? If before, maybe AKL is now charging as well. ??? Either way, seems kind of steep.

To be honest, I felt the Saratoga spa was bigger and better than the Grand spa (or AKL), but I visited all before the switch.

I too have been perusing the photos of the boxes. While I am happy to see that armoire go(did not like the style), seeing drawers on both sides of the fridge space has me worried that this new armoire will be much wider. In some of the pics it seemed like the daybed, armoire, and desk were kinda cramped along the wall. I hope they keep the desk with the rolling table in the new design. I love those things! They are so useful.

Puhleeeezze....let there be a new armchair to replace that ugly country blue chair :crazy2:

HAHAHA! I second that.:thumbsup2

Is it possible the fridge or drawers are smaller? I'm gonna go back and see if there are dimensions on the box. ETA: just checked, they are about 5-1/2 foot long. I do think that is longer than the current armoire.:scratchin

I hope they keep the desk, too, but have to confess - we have never used the rolling table! Cool concept, I just don't know what to do with it. How has your family utilized it? Private dining, maybe? We haven't had it since back in the day when there was a table in the room.

I looked at the dimensions on the box but it didn't help me much since I don't know how big the current one is.lol

We use the rolling table for eating breakfast in the room almost every day. The kids also use it when they are drawing. I believe DH has even used it to play cards as well. It is nice because you can roll it to wherever you need it in a room. I may need it to set my glass of wine on while I am curled up in that new NOT blue chair....:rolleyes1

HAHA! Good idea.

I see why I haven't found a use for the table - I haven't had young 'uns with me since those were added.;)

As usual, I edited my previous post while you were responding (I have a bad habit, lol). I'm quite sure the old armoire was NOT 5-1/2 foot long. I'll post a photo, brb.

Not the whole wall, I'm still looking for that one. But you can see about how long it is - doesn't look over 5 ft. to me.

I'm at the airport now, so am glad to be leaving the mission in your capable hands. :thumbsup2

I got a few more pix today that I will post after I get home, and there is a desk with rolling table. Best, I got a peek at a piece of artwork, a small print that is in silhouette style in black and white with an Alice theme. Someone was carrying it down the path, so no idea if it is for the rooms or the lobby. It was lovely and suitably Grand in theme and period.

Ooh, more details, thanks!:goodvibes Can't wait to see more photos. Safe travels home.pixiedust:

Where is everybody today? There's only the sound of crickets in here.

MommyGina - :wave2:

The work monsters realized I'm going to the GF and have made the Yeti at the top of the Expedition Everest seem sweet and kind. :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb: Think of that as chained to my desk....but not for long.

I'm here!!!

When I'm not at the Grand I don't have much to say because I only like to say nice things.
I can always find nice things to say about the Grand!

I'm home in Massachusetts and I do love my home here too, but it's cold here so I wish I could still be in Florida.

We stayed an extra day because our flight was canceled. We enjoyed our extra day and spent a long time listening to the piano player and a singer on Wed last week. They said she sings on Wed and Fri in the Grand foyer.

We went to the Wine Cellar at Epcot in Italy at night. It's my family's favorite place for specialty coffee and desserts.

I have been thinking about going to VGF in Oct, we have only gone from Dec to May. Do you like it there in Oct?

October is a beautiful time to visit --- that is my preferred month. This past October was the first time in 5 October visits that it was actually summer time too hot for a couple of days. Most of my trips in October the temperature is low 80s and less humidity than the summer. This past October we had a few 90s and it was humid -- lots of water consumed.

Plus, Epcot Food and Wine is in October, so much fun.

DO I?!?:yay: It's one of our favorite times in the World, the weather is (usually) good and as Tom posted, Food & Wine is going on.

We have never been to the Wine Cellar, we'll have to look for it on our next visit - what do you like there? We love La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico pavilion, although we're bummed they have shortened the menu of appetizers.

::yes::

(sorry about the extra heat this past October - DD and I haven't been able to go that month for a few years, her college schedule and then new job schedule prevented it ~sob~)

Been busy cleaning today...taking a break before making dinner.

I agree k&a&c'smom I do not think the current dressers look that long. Maybe 4 1/2 feet?? I sure hope circusgirl is correct that the desk and rolling table are staying in the new design. I think the rooms with the connecting door may be a little cramped on that wall but we shall see. Looking forward to seeing more pics!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes
