At that time, we were a FP+ trial family, and I think we used it for viewing at one of the parades @ MK. That was our 4th year in a row of visiting, and with a bit of a hiatus until now, as my youngest is finally over her fear of characters. Due to visit in early Nov, and I keep hearing horror stories about the new FP and your ability to get the rides you want.
My question is whether getting the FP you want is similar to getting those "must-have" dining reservations, especially for the Tier 1 rides and attractions. For example, our trip commences Nov 5 and we visit Epcot on Nov 6. Should we expect to still be able to find some Elsa/Anna MG, Soarin' or Test Track available, even if it's not at the time that we want, or are we looking at really just Tier 1A type attractions available instead, i.e. the things that nobody else wants? Is the best site for monitoring FP availability found @ Touring Plans?
Being a bit nostalgic here and looking back to better times where I would bank and use Fast Passes throughout the day, never walking out with one in my pocket. Those times have definitely changed.
Also, confirmation on one point- we are hitting the Christmas party one night and intended on arriving @ MK closer to 2PM, using one of our daily tickets. Would we be able to get whatever FP are available for the 2 to 7 window, and at the same time get Fast Passes with our hard ticket for the Christmas party from 4 to closing? Potentially 6 initial FP in one day? I wasn't sure if the tickets were linked.
Thanks very much for any feedback.
