I electronically filed our taxes on Saturday and still haven't received a confirmation email. We didn't itemize. But I did see they recently released all the itemized returns. Do you think they are just bogged down by all those returns?

Should I be concerned? I think it said they'd accept or deny it within 24-72 hours. Also maybe because it was a Saturday? (But I think I've done it on a Saturday before and always gotten the email the next day.)

What do you think?:confused3
Thanks! :)

I filed yesterday and honestly don't expect to get a confirmation until early next week.

They just began accepting returns on Monday for itemizers, and I suspect there is a significant backlog for those who chose to send them in before the 14th.

We did ours through HR a few weeks ago. But because of the IRS not accepting them until 2/14, they weren't sent right away. HR sent them in Monday morning and we got the acceptance email from IRS and state by Tues afternoon. IRS said that things could be delayed a bit longer than the normal 48-72 hours, but that wasn't the case in our situation...and ours was a bit more complicated than a normal one.

We filed Saturday also, but we did itemized. I just checked Turbo Tax and it was send to the irs around noon yesterday. I'm still waiting for the IRS to accept it. I wouldn't be concerned.

I filed on 2/1 with Turbo Tax. They had to hold the form until 2/14 (itemized). It STILL hasn't been transmitted to the IRS. TT says the IRS asked them to only transmit so many backlogged ones per day. So it does look like there is a massive backlog. I'm assuming we won't make the "Accepted by 2/17 for 2/25 direct deposit" deadline, unfortunately.

We also had to wait until 2/14. Turbotax emailed me late last night that it was accepted however if I go to the irs website it still doesnt have any info.

Same for us. We used Taxact last week. We got a text and email that night saying that it was done but they were waiting to submit them to the IRS on 2/14. This morning we got another text and email from Taxact saying that the IRS has accepted it but the IRS site hasn't updated yet.

Honestly, I'd rather they work on getting the returns processed and the refunds set for deposit instead of updating their site.

We filled Yesterday 2/15 at 7:11a mst and I received a confirmation TODAY 2/16 at 4:31a that the IRS had accepted out tax return and we should expect out REFUND by Friday 2/15.

We filled 1040 itemized.

I purposely waited to file after 2/14 cause I figured there might be a back log.... looks like that may have been the case. :scared1:

SORRY....

Just curious, is that from the IRS "where's my refund" site or from the program that you used to do your taxes?

For us, Taxact shows that the return was accepted by the IRS and gives us a date of 2/25 but the where's my refund site doesn't show anything.

I assume that you mean that your refund will be there 2/25 not 2/15.

We used Tax Act as well, and both the Federal and State were both accepted today. Where can I find out when the direct deposit will hit my bank account?

We used HR Block to e-file our return on 02/05/2011. We had to wait for the 02/14 update. We got an email from HR Block on Tuesday saying stating our return was accepted but it to it did not show on the IRS website till today 02/17. Even if HRB,TT, or TAxfree gets your confirmation it takes the IRS 24 hours to update their system.

It takes the IRS up to 72 hours to update their website. I wouldn't worry about that. I went ahead and filed 1/21. The taxes were in the queue 2/14 and filed. This morning, I got the email it had been accepted as of 2/15 at 6:43. No update on the "Where's my refund" site, but there wasn't one for me there last year, either less than 24 hours after submission.

I did the free file fillable forms - sent them electronically on the 14th - got an e-mail on the 15th that the IRS had accepted our return.

I don't get it, I still haven't heard anything. Filed on the 12th. Tried calling tonight and I couldn't even figure out how to talk to a real person. Guess I won't worry yet, maybe I'll hear by next week.:confused3

We filed with an itemized return at 11pm last night through taxact, no update yet. I am also not concerned at this point.

I used Turbo tax and was also held up until the 14th. Last night i got a REJECTION email because the IRS didn't recognize my pin #. I called them and got it for both my DH & I.
Does anyone know if this might be because I had someone do my taxes last yr? I called the # again to verify I entered the correct pin and resubmitted. I got an email saying it was sent and I should hear by tomorrow if accepted.

Well on the IRS website it said they got my return and expect a refund March 1. So at least I know they got it. Never did get the acceptance email from them though. :confused3 Oh well, glad they got it! :)
