haven't been for 5 years, help!

hi guys,
i have booked for 3 nights going on 18 december staying at davy crockett ranch with meal plan plus. there are 4 adults and 6 kids aged between 9 and 4 as me and Michelle, angel659, are teaming up as there is no tour guide mike for dlp i'm gonna need some help. The attractions and such i know about but could do with some restaurant recommendations, how far out i should book them, which attractions are the busisest so where should i be heading first thing in the morning to ride and get fastpass and if you have any reports of davy crockett ranch and hints and tips, basically any hints for the whole trip would be great, i am a wdw girl and i feel a bit lost oh yeah, if you have been at this time before, the weekend before christmas that would be helpful too as we arrive the thursday and come back on the sunday, i'm thinking that i have the thursday and friday before the masses arrive but if i am wrong then let me know.
oh and could someone please explain how to get tickets and in for the lion king show as i have not managed it yet, the crowds put me off so i never sussed how to do it.

Hello,

At the top of the thread list is a restaurant information sticky. But my two must do's are Cafe Mickey in the Village and Walt's on Main street.

There aren't tickets for the lion king show. You just have to line up outside the theatre. But we watched it from the restaurant behind the stage bit and had a great view, and didn't have to wait for long, jsut went in 5 minutes before.

Hey Claire.

Restuarants you can book 60 days before you leave.

Also make sure your at the Studios proir to opening and be prepared to run in the Crush Coaster olympics. If not you will be waiting 90mins plus to ride.

Not stayed at the DCR so i cant help you there, but there is a hotel sticky at the top of the board that may help

I would also recommend Inventions. Great food and great character interaction.

Christmas time at DLP is just magical. Did you know that Santa's reindeer live here all year long

For a Disney fan some of this will I'm sure be known.
Make use of EMH. In the case of the morning it is mainly Fantasyland and a few rides in Discoveryland that are open early.

Crush Coaster is unique to DLP and as reported can have crazy queues.

You no longer have to get tickets for the Lion King show. Just check out when the English shows are and you'll see the crowds forming about 45 mins beforehand.

Hello!!

I recommend checking out the Hotel FAQ and the Restaurant Sticky at the top of the board... These are an invaluable resource!!

I would recommend Cafe Mickey, The Rainforest Cafe, and Annettes Diner.... Great food!!

We went this time in 2005, Thursday - Monday on the last weekend before Christmas and it was busy the whole time however the weekend was horrendous, rides had over two hour wait and it was hard to walk in fantasy land as they was so many people, it is still fun though as there is the parades, characters, Christmas decorations, shows and stuff so plenty to do if you can't get on many rides. Just be prepared for it to be very busy.
