started to bloom? I have seen some already blooming and mine are just still nice and green. Maybe the ones that are blooming were just planted??? Mine came back from last year.

Mine (that came back) bloomed about 6 weeks ago, but I'm further south.

DH & I were just talking about the mums last night. They haven't started to bloom at all. They seem late this year. We are in the Mid-Atlantic region.

My aunt was the town garden expert for many years and sold plants to everyone. She always said the mums would bloom too early if you didn't pinch them back three times before the 4th of July then leave them alone. We're in zone 6 (close to zone 5) and ours bloom in September and October IF they're pinched back. Otherwise they're leggy and have smaller blooms much earlier. I know nothing about other zones or areas, just know what auntie taught me.

r u suppose to pinch off the blooms or leaves by the 4th of July.

My mums are so small, cause it has been so cold in Wisconsin. We had a string of 80's this past week, but today the high is 58, unseasonable cool (ya think).

I could cry, cause I saw buds forming.
