Have you watched the WDW resort specials on travel channel.....

Have you watched any of the WDW resort specials on travel channel and decided not to to stay at a particular resort after watching it? I really liked the Beach Club show and plan to stay there some day.

However, after seeing the progams on the AKL and WL, I have no desire to stay at either one. I enjoy walking around the WL when we are in Disney, but I wasn't crazy about the room decor and I have heard the rooms are pretty small, at least compared to other resorts. I know I shouldn't let a 30 minute show decide whether or not I'll ever stay somewhere but I just wondered if anyone else has decided against a resort after seeing these shows.

Yes, I did see WDW on the travel channel and although it didn't send me running for a travel agent (like last time) it did at least get me back on this board. Last December was our third time at WDW and when we left I swore I would never go back. I guess enough time has passed that the hard feelings are wearing off, but I think if there is a "next time" the AKL would have to be a part of it. The show on the TC sure made it look like my kind of place.

I really like these shows and am staying at the AKL after watching one. But, the bad thing is, they always show Samamtha staying in the best rooms. My grandkids who are going with us really wanted to stay concierge and do the safari. The difference in price was $2,284.78 over the deluxe savannah rooms (for 2 rooms) because disney won't give disney club discounts for concierge. Of course I couldn' justify that much difference. That will pay for our plane tickets!!(7 people) I told the kids I was sorry but Samantha doesn't have to pay for her own room!! I just don't understand why disney won't give concierge discounts too!

I just watched the GF, AKL, WL, and YC/BC.

We are splitting our stay 1/2 at CR and 1/2 at unknown. Now that I've seen these resorts, none of them really jump out at me . Don't get me wrong, they were all very nice, but I'm not anxious to stay at any of them. If we stay at AKL it will be only for the animals, because the theme just wasn't my style.

DH only saw GF and WL and said no to both.

I guess I'll look closer at The Boardwalk?

I've seen the Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom resort. They both look great. We're staying at OKW and I've seen pictures of that resort and I can't wait to stay there! I wish they would do a special for OKW!!!

I know exactly what you are talking about! I love the idea of staying at a new resort, but AKL and WL don't appeal to be at all, either. I don't like the safari look and I don't like the rustic cabin look either! Also, everyone talks about how great the Polynesian is, but when I see pictures of the rooms they don't appeal to me at all either...


We are staying at the Beach Club. I like the seaside theme. I think I would also like Old Key West for the same reason. Boardwalk appeals to be also. Caribbean Beach Resort too. I've never been to any of these resorts, but just based on what I have seen and what I perceive the "atmosphere" to be in those places, the resorts I seem to like are the ones with beach themes.

My DD28, DGD7, & I watched the one on AKL last Friday...we're staying there in TWO WEEKS! I really enjoyed it...although I'd liked to have seen less of the concierge stuff too....at least cut the safari shots at AK. They didn't show anything on the pool & spa area. I loved it though, and it made me even more excited to stay there.

When I had told DD we were staying in a deluxe resort, I think she was afraid it would be stuffy & uppity. After seeing the show, she that she liked the fact that it was luxurious in a laid back comfortable way. I agree.
