Did you have any problems? Worth it?

I hate doing stuff like this right before a trip, just in case it doesn't go well. But as long as I follow the instructions, it should be fine. Fingers crossed.

Do a backup first - just in case. I have a 3GS (and a 4 coming tomorrow) and it went very smoothly. There are some new nice to have features - all mail in one in box, folders for apps, etc. But I would hesitate to do it before a trip. I once did an upgrade and it bricked my phone right before a trip. I was lost!

I upgraded my 3GS and so far no problems. I love some of the new features!

I've gotten emails from the makers of a couple of my apps warning me that their apps won't work with the new OS. Their upfitting is in the Apple queue for approval, but hasn't been approved yet, so no go. I think I will wait, since they are apps I use daily.

I did the upgrade to 4.0 a few days ago, and haven't had any issue on my 3GS version.

I upgraded and didn't have any problems, but I've read a few stories from others who have. If I were getting ready to leave in the next day or two on a trip, I think I'd just wait to upgrade until I returned. There are some nice features with the upgrade (folders, camera digital zoom, unified email, etc.) but nothing that demands you upgrade immediately, IMHO.

My iphone 4 arrives today. The new OS will be on that, just waiting for me to try it out.

I did my iPhone this morning. I really haven't done much playing around to see anything different. The upgrade process automatically backed up my iPhone before it started installing the new files.
