Have you tried these "green bags"? Do they work?

Has anybody tried these "green bags" that are supposed to keep produce fresh? Do they really work? Any comments?

They have come out with GREEN containers...I got some coming...Hopefully this works.

I'm surprised that so far you're all saying they Don't work. A bunch of people at work were talking about them (like 5 people or so) and they were all saying how absolutely great and fabulous these bags work.

Thanks for that link! That's very helpful. I was going to get some for my MIL for Christmas and try some myself after hearing the folks at work talking about them. But maybe I shouldn't bother.

Anybody got anything to say about aquaglobes? No, I don't spend all my time watching infomercials or anything but both of these items were a big topic of discussion and I got interested in both as gifts.

I love hearing the good, the bad, and the ugly....keep it coming!

I think that putting your produce in a tupperware container with a paper towel on the bottom works better then the green bags.

There was a post here on the aquaglobes a while back and most people said that they clog up too easily and using a milk jug works better-but I don't remember how to do that .

I haven't tried the ones advertised on tv but I have tried some my brother got from a friend in NC that look just like what they advertise. Those ones that I currently use work great.

The key to the green bags is making sure you wipe out if you see any moisture in it. I have used them a few times and they seem to work ok. I haven't tried the cheese or bread ones yet though.

We saw green inside the Green Bags, but often it was mold. Blackberries became moldy after three weeks, strawberries and basil after a month, and peppers and tomatoes after five weeks.

I am sorry but if it can make my strawberries last even 2 weeks it's better than what I usually can do on my own... Maybe I am just doing things really wrong.

They work very well for bananas. Not so much with tomatoes, though. They lose their ability to keep thing from ripening after 6-8 uses.

I will try wiping the moisture out to see if they last longer.

They made my bananas MOLDY! Just the bananas - everything else I put in them did OK but I don't think they made them last any longer than "traditional storage" (Like they say in the commercial).

and so far I think they work great for bananas, lettuce, and spinach, haven't tried them on tomatoes yet as we still have garden fresh ones and don't refrigerate them

I'm so bummed! I figured these were a good gift idea and also something I wanted to try but it doesn't seem like they do much good .....oh well, back to the drawing board.

I'm still so confused about all the girls at work saying they work so great.
