Have you stayed at Polynesian Isles or Summer Bay?

It has been a while, but we've stayed at Summer Bay twice. Nice resort. A little far out 192, but not really a problem.

Older resort, well maintained (Poly) in a VERY commercialized area. Easy access to almost anything as well as the parks. Summerbay is WAY out on 192 - we prefer being closer in. But the resort is nice - either one should work for you. There is an "older person" feel to Poly - a bit younger clientele at SB.

We stayed at the Polynesian Isles in Jan 2008. I don't recall specific grocery store or restaurant info, but there is a super walmart or a publix somewhere fairly close. As for the resort, we really enjoyed it. It was clean and quiet. The furnishings seemed fairly new and in good condition. There was not a washer and dryer in the condo but there was one right outside the door, seems like 2 units shared them so they were always available when we needed it. The landscaping was very nice. The resort is gated and had a security guard at the gate 24/7. They did try to talk us into a time-share sale talk (we refused), but thats pretty standard in Orlando. It was 3 years ago but we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed in 2003- Summer Bay Resort (Rt. 192)- This was a great place. Through a timeshare exchange we got a 3 bedroom condo unit with 2 balconies, 5 TV’s, a larger hot tub in one bedroom, a smaller hot tub in another bedroom, 2 washer/dryers, 3 very heated pools/ hot tubs, a clubhouse, bar, boat rentals and store. The units were new and extremely clean. The pools were large and warm enough to swim in during any weather.
