Have you or would you ever, buy a bathing suit from a thrift store?

Same for me. I shop thrift all the time. But intimate wear/swimsuits I would personally pass over. Same thing with shoes too...maybe it's just me

I used to say no on used shoes, then I found some vintage Frye booties like Beatle 2 zip boots and it totally changed my tune! Sadly, they were as expensive as new, but cost per use? Awesome!

Does anyone admit to buying used under garments? For me, its not like their is a style difference in a 70s bra than what I can buy, so the "ick" factor will always win out. I'm happy with VS or whatever is cute at TJ Maxx.

I have to say I spent quite a bit of time in thrift stores and I have never seen underwear or a swimsuit but I was not looking either usually when I am in there I am looking for jeans and a tee shirt

I would never need to swim that bad.

Doesn't matter if it's rational or not. Just no.

That said, I'm still a firm no on thrift store bathing suits. :)

Still a firm no on thrift store suits.

I don't think I caught that, is that a no for used swimsuits? ;) (Just teasing you, of course! lol)
Thanks for asking - glad I'm not the only one that was wondering...:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I would not for myself. I likely would have trouble finding something that fits right and is supportive. I have bought kids swimsuits at the consignment store and have gotten hand me downs for them. I will buy them new underwear and socks.
I won't buy used underwear, socks, bras, sheets and towels. At least for me, I tend to use those items until they are ready to be thrown out anyway so I don't see the point in buying those used.
I also wouldn't buy used baby bottle nipples either.

"No" on shoes, underwear, socks, bras, swimsuits, etc.... for me. When we do clothing donations we also don't include those items (unless they are new, unused, and with sales tags still on them.) The "ick" factor (rational or not) is just too high for us.

I purchase gently used clothing but not swim suits or underware.

Salvation Army sells both used swim suits AND used underware.

I just bought my 4 year old a bathing suit from a consignment store. Brought it home & washed it & she wore it this weekend. I buy her clothes from there all the time-I don't really see a problem with it since I always wash them before use.

No used upholstered furniture for me. Too many unseen, nasty things can remain.

Used stuff doesn't bother me. We are at the beach this week and I wore a swimsuit yesterday that I bought at a yard sale.

I sell used clothing on eBay as my side hustle and I sell lots of used swimsuits.

Weddings are always controversial....
Perhaps someone could make a thread about showing up to a wedding in a used swimsuit? That could be interesting! lol

I wonder if Serena Williams' swimsuit is new or used?
