It depends what kind of appraisal the bank orders. If the bank orders a full appraisal they will take outside pictures, measure outside of house, and enter your house. They are not there to inspect cleanliness, just count rooms, make note of types of flooring and general conditions of house (ie.= new, like new, excellent, average) There is also a section on the appraisal for comments.
If the bank orders a drive by. They basically drive by, see that yes there is a house there and take a picture from the road. They basically just take the room, square ft info and such from the town hall records.
