Have you had to make two res at one resort for your stay?

My DH and I will be staying 17 nights and when I called CM said they weren't available at a discounted rate. So she broke them up into 7 and 10 night reservations. She told me to let the front desk know that we have a reservation for the same hotel and room type and more than likely they wont move us. I was just curious if you have ever experienced this before?

Yes, I have in the past and that is also the case for our upcoming reservations in December. When it happened to me in the past, we did not have to change rooms, but I have read on these boards about some who have had to move. It seems though that they try not to have you move if possible.

Yes I have done this before... sometimes they make you change rooms, (usually not though) sometimes you have to have new key cards issued.

I have never had a problem.

We had to do that last October since we were staying for 13 nights and they only allow you to book 10 nights at a time with a discount code. At the time I made the reservation, the CM stated that they try not to have to move you to a different room, but it is a possibility. This concerned us since we had kids and 2 rooms involved. We did not want to have to pack and unpack again. We called the manager of the hotel and asked what was the likelihood of having to change rooms. She was very nice and said she would make a note on our reservation and she guaranteed we would not have to change rooms. It was a very sweet thing to do.

Try calling the resort directly and ask how likely it is you would have to change rooms. Who knows, you might get a nice manager like we did.

We've done this as well. Call and ask that your first reservation be noted that it is a "continuing reservation" and note the conf# of the next ressie. That way when the ressie is downloaded to the room assigner, they will see it is continuing and can check the details of your 2nd ressie as well (which if it is 10 days later won't be downloaded at the same time) and they will do their best to keep you in one room. We were able to stay in one room and were told that we could do the check out/in thing at any time during the day. It didn't have to be done by the regular check out time, just that our keys to the world would stop working at midnight of the check out day on the first ressie so to be sure we went to do the paperwork that day. It was very quick and easy, no complaints!

at the ASmu for this upcoming July-Aug trip.

We had planned on a 7 day vacation so we booked a package of meal plan room & tickets thru AAA. All paid for by day 45.

DH finds out he has more vacation time this year so we decide to arrive 6 days earlier...Since we did not want the meal plan...way too much food for 13 days, and we have left over plusses on our old PHP, we decided to do a room only reservation. The clerk also told us that we probably won't have to move to another room when the 2nd reservation comes into effect.

As others have stated, let CRO know that your stay is actually under 2 reservations. When you check in, reiterate to the front desk staff that you are staying under 2 separate reservations and you would prefer not to change rooms. We have done this twice (once at Dixie Landings/Riverside and once at the Poly) and both times were accomodated. We did have to check in/out under each reservation but time spent was < than 10 minutes.

We had CRO link our ressies together. We didn't have to change rooms and it was pretty busy when we went.

Thank you all for responding. I'm glad to know that you all didn't have to change rooms. I wont have a fit, but it would be nice not to have to move our stuff. Then again, maybe it would be interesting to change rooms. We will see.
