Have you had good luck getting availability with current codes?

I have been thinking about taking advantage of one of the codes for a WDW stay 12/4-12/11/02, but am wondering (since I waited so long to jump on these) if the availability is dwindling for these great rates? Has anybody tried to book with them lately and what are you experiencing? Thanks!

I have a friend who called Tuesday about availability Dec 6-13. The only thing they had was BWI. I think they quoted her $2100 for 7 nights plus LOS passes. Hope this helps:jester:

I called yesterday for 12/2-12/10. Was told that the resorts were about sold out. A few left at sports i think. Sold out? So why are they crying that their going broke. The pop warner folks dont make it there to 12/8 so i dont know whats going on down there. Looks like i may not make it this year.

I've always had good luck with codes, but I already had a reservation. So as soon as the codes came out for my dates, I called and had the code applied to my exisiting ressie. No problem.

I did the same thing as cassie and had no problem, but that was back when the codes came out. I've since tried to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for our last two nights, using the codes (this was about two weeks or so after they came out) and they were already gone.

I've been on the phone with them both yesterday and today. Trying to book for 12/7 - 12/11. The only thing I could get using the codes was BWI, POR, AKL, and ASSp. That was it!!! So... late this afternoon I changes the dates to 11/30 - 12/4 and had much better luck. I'm now trying to decide between 1 room at Poly or 2 rooms at ASSp.

I just booked a 7 night stay at POR for $95.00 a night. I called last Saturday morning trying to use code CKQ and the woman said the code was sold out.

I called later that afternoon and I got the room. Usually, $133.00 a night.

Keep trying if you don't get in the first time. I am going first week in december.

Good luck.............

I've never paid rack rate for a WDW room, so I guess this means that I've had pretty good luck with codes and discounts. :D Rarely, if ever, have I received the discount for my choice of resort and dates on the first call, however. It took at least a week of calling to get my CKO-rate BWI room for Veterans Weekend, but I was finally successful.

If you want to go, keep calling and good luck!

They aren't sold out - that just means that there are no more code rooms available - that the number of rooms they had set aside for the code are sold out. There probably are rooms just about everywhere but you'll be paying rack rates now.

I tried several codes for AKL the lowest I could find was $159 which is okay but I was thrying to get either the $109 or the $119. Im going alone for Dis con so I didnt want to pay that much just for myself but if it was my whole family I would. Check the Southwest Airlines web site--they had a place for room ressies too, you dont have to buy air.

Thanks for your replies guys! I usually plan our trips far enough out, before the codes are issued. I typically book with my DC discount and then later switch to a code to reduce our cost (this was listed as a tactic in response to my original post). This is what I get for not sticking with my usual planning tactics! Oh well... I guess I'll give CRO a jingle, and will prepare for it being a loooong call as send them on a hunt!

This isn't necessarily the case. When I called CRO earlier in September to reserve a room at BWI for November, I was told that the CKO rate rooms were sold out, but I could book the room at the rack rate. About a week later, the room was suddenly available at the CKO discount rate. My understanding is that CRO's room inventory is constantly changing, both in terms of dates available and discounts available. That explains why many have posted that they were told "sold out" in the morning only to find discounted rooms available when calling CRO back later that same day.

I just booked a room today (Sept. 20th) for 12/13-17 at POR using the Disney Club code, $85/night. There weren't any rooms available using the CKO rate but my agent tried Disney Club as a back-up. There were also rooms available through Southwest as of yesterday for 12/6-10th, our original vacation dates, (code:SWEST). I guess you just have to keep trying.
