Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Got my second Pfizer Vax two days ago. Still lots of people being very efficiently moved through the site, but it was a lot less busy than during my first shot, possibly because it was 6 pm-ish and they were nearing the end of the day. Had 1 day of body aches and low fever yesterday, and was back to normal when I woke up this morning.

Due for my second shot this week. I posted on another thread that I got a rash on my face within a few hours. I keep hearing conflicting opinions on whether to get the second one.

Well I won't tell you whether or not to get the second one, how's that? I will say given the rash to consult with a doctor. Make sure you tell him or her how severe the rash was, where and over how much of your body and all your other symptoms too.

Updates from posts down thread. I chose to put em here for others that might be reading rather than adding new posts.

I asked my Dr but because I haven’t been in for a visit for the last 2 years he won’t give me advice....
Well go in and fill him in over the past two years. Then he'll give you advice. Or if you'd rather, find one that is taking new patients. Above all, don't pay attention to the Dis doctors. This might be a good idea also
It might be helpful to call your local health department and discuss your possible reaction with them. They may be able to give you a recommendation or refer you to someone to discuss further.

I would be more concerned about a fever lasting for more than a couple days rather than a fever occurring 1-2 weeks out.
True. A quick spike in temp for a day or so no red flag for me. Multiple days yes. I know of two people who got Covid with heavy symptoms between shots —most likely had it before the shot but were only diagnosed after the first; maybe they were aysmtomatic during first shot. Who knows. Myself as a person who rarely gets fevers nor has ever had a reaction to any shot would be a bit concerned if I had a fever that went on for multiple days after a Covid shot and would get things checked out.

I did but mainly because I have two cruises planned, hoping to travel internationally (Philippines and either Greece or Paris early next year) and I really REALLY like the way tacos taste.

45 years old, in great physical health

Ask the pharmacist. Pharmacists are more educated on how drugs/medications work in the body any way, as well as side effects and reactions. I have some severe allergies to some antibiotics, and I've hard pharmacists refuse to fill prescriptions and call up doctors to tell them to change prescriptions for me. Pharmacists know what's up.

Just scheduled J&J vaccine for DH and I for Friday. We're both 64. We're both so nervous about the vaccines so we figured go with just the one shot. I know we we not go back for the second shot. Hope things work out, would love to get some normalcy back in my life.

We ventured out again last night to eat inside. I wasn’t planning to go but I received an email from the restaurant that a bunch of new offerings were added to the menu starting yesterday. We arrived early, about 4:30, they switch to the more expansive dinner menu at 4, and we were the only customers at first. It started filling up closer to 6 when the half off a bottle of wine deal ends. Not a huge place, but there are extremely high ceilings and the air circulation was extra strong. They also have a large outdoor deck which was popular too.

Never would have tried this prior to being vaccinated. We were the oldest couple in the room, and I think we might have been the happiest.

I am starting to feel comfortable around people again. We had a water heater leak and had to have the wall torn out and dried. This happened one week before my first vax. I was a nervous wreck having people in the house. It took weeks to get through the insurance red tape and so by the time we got a guy out to repair the wall and paint I had my second vax. We’re taking precautions of course with masks and ventilation but I’m so much more relaxed.

Hi everyone!

I got my 2nd dose of Moderna this morning. I only experienced a sore arm with my first dose, so we’ll see how this goes.

My DH got his 2nd dose of Moderna yesterday. He had a typical sore arm and then very noticeable injection site reaction about a week after his first shot. Today, he had a temp of 100.2 this morning (down to 99.8 now), chills, and a headache. He’s not feeling too bad. He works from home and is working today.

I’ll be back tomorrow to report on how I’m doing!

I just want to be able to sit down at a restaurant and eat again. I'm one more week from being fully vaccinated. The last time I sat down to eat inside was at Glacier National Park by where you rent kayaks. The last time outside was at a local bbq place.
