Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

They are interesting numbers; however, when I was discussing it elsewhere and using the same statistics, someone told me that the clots from AZ and J&J are not standard DVT clots that you'd see normally (the type in the stats above). This is a very rare type of clot in the brain that could cause death easier than run-of-the-mill DVT. But yes, it does put them all into a perspective.

I know they say rare and still are giving the shots here . I did know when I got it could be a brain one. The doctor all keep saying the benefits of this one out ways it . I don’t want COVID either.

It does help to know blood clots happen everyday probably a brain one as well.

I told my husband it is like buyers remorse ....lol Just don’t know if I want the second one now but I do have until August to decide that .

I just got my first dose of Moderna 1 hour ago and I'm doing very very well so far

I'm absolutely ecstatic that I got the Moderna vaccine that was the one I really really really really really wanted, in addition it was also, at a local vaccination site, a warm-ish weather day and it was in my left arm which is the arm I also really really really really really wanted.

Sorry if I feel like I'm ranting a bit here, but I'm so super ecstatic right now
Rant away! I felt exactly the same way about mine, except it was Pfizer (which I really really really really wanted). Welcome to the vaccinated club!

Moderna is 4 weeks between shots, 4 weeks from today I have my second appointment.

I also didn't get any fancy stuff too, but i'm just so happy that it was Moderna so I can be thrilling about that.

I would of refused to get AstraZeneca if that was being given out, and demanded either Moderna if possible, or Pfizer if for some odd reason Moderna couldn't be given out.

Why were you so set on Moderna over the others?

Weird possible side effect. All I have been craving for the last 2 days is SUGAR. I have had very little appetite and have had to force actual real food down but sugar is the only thing that sounds good. I have had hersheys kisses, maple candy, strawberries with whipped cream, and a fudgesicle. The idea of regular food makes me nauseous.

I was set on Moderna since December. Stayed that way throughout. Certainly because I like what Moderna contains compared to Pfizer/Johnson/AstraZeneca/etc

I got the Astra Zeneca shot on Tuesday and now I’m freaking myself out as there is 5 cases of the blood clots now in Canada out of 1 million + shots given. That is small but I keep wondering if I should have waited...the last one happened 2 weeks after I am going to be walking on pins and needles until that point.

That been said they want to lower the age to 30 from 40 .....at first it was 55-64. I live in Ontario Canada and are in a stay home order makes me think I should have waited can’t go anywhere but thought it would be months before it got to me since they were stuck at age 60 here with no supply of the other coming to fast. I’m 58.

My husband just says can’t do anything about it now...I’m a worry wort though.
I'm sorry you feel worried. If I were you I would consider calling a health line (assuming you have one in your province as well) or asking a doctor about it. They will have an expert opinion and it may help alleviate the stress your're having :)

Your husband is right. You can't do anything about it now. But let's be logical. You don't sit and worry about cancer, do you? Or heart disease? You are much much more likely to die of cancer or a heart attack in your lifetime than anything else. We should not be worrying about anything at all. We all need to just be living and appreciating life. We never know when our time is up so let's just enjoy each day without worry. We aren't guaranteed anything. Make a decision to only focus on the positive! You will be absolutely FINE!

I realize the messenger is a different type molecule and the lipid delivery is different ...but curious as to specifically what swayed you to Moderna? That's over my head....

I hope more companies follow. Bring on a vaccine passport. 👍

This seems to be a CA thing, so I'm hoping Disney follows Sea World. My understanding is that you need you vaccine card for entry if you're not a resident of the state. I'm pretty sure if that's the case, I won't be riding any water rides.

We did get the Pfizer and we were given both a slip of paper and an e-mail reminder to return in 21 days. That was my bad when I first stated we received the Moderna. Ours were sponsored through the Head board over our Hospitals and they were issued at local mass vaccination clinics with no appointments. Again no side effects other the sore arms. We did receive band aids, stickers, and on the way out they were passing out drink cups labeled with the sponsers and it contained bottles of hand sanitizer, ink pens, chap stick. Also our local Staples Store are laminating your vaccine cards for free.

SO VERY THANKFUL....

Over the last couple of days both my youg adult kids (19 and 26) got their first Moderna shots. Now just to wait until May 22 for the second ones. Besides the obvious of being more protected ... this means there are activities programs classes etc. that they can resume or be able to participate more freely...since both are in college/grad school, and it will be required at Umass-Amherst for the fall

You're not the only with a bit of buyer's remorse. There's an article in the New York Times today that 5 million Americans, or about 8% of those vaccinated so far, have not gotten their second shot. They attributed this to apathy, fear of side effects and a feeling that "I'm good" with just one shot. It's a shame that our "one shot" vaccine here in the states (J&J) has gotten so much bad press.

It made me wonder how successful we'll be when the booster shots come around in the fall/winter for Pfizer and Moderna. For many of us, the second shot was the one with the big side effects (it was for me with Moderna). My thinking is a larger percentage will skip the booster.
