Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Seriously? How many voters would mind seeing them put in jail? I don't think that's a realistic concern at all. And I'm from a very conservative area, so it's not about politics. Only fringe crazies would object to that.
Arresting protestors, which is all these people are (they aren't rioting, they aren't doing what happened several weeks ago), isn't usually favorable. No one has to like why they are protesting (and I don't) but the point still is they don't want to just go arresting people who are doing the same thing that has been done earlier on in the pandemic and the last several years. When you start picking and choosing just which cause you're going to start arresting people for that becomes an issue. That's all I will say, the rest gets too deep :flower3:

I thought it was stated that they were actively blocking vaccine distribution. If so, that isn't just protesting. That's disturbing the peace and endangering public health.

Remember the last several years and it might make more sense, blocked highways, blocked access to people getting to work and into buildings. It all happened in the past several years and for different causes. You may not like it, I may not like it, but I recognize it's a gray area when it comes to this and arresting people. If blocking access to things was a reason to get you arrested that would have been the case for all in the past, but it's not. If you want to talk more I don't mind if you message me but that's all I'll say on this thread.

I don't care what people are protesting about. Blocking highways and access to buildings is a crime, disturbing the peace, which can and should result in arrest.

He's good! He's tired and sometimes cranky, but I think he's just sick of everyone being around and wants to do things on his own.
And boy, he can't take being uncomfortable! But he seems to be able to do more and more as time goes on.

Thank you for asking! He did have ribs the other night! :D
That's good to hear he's doing well! even though he's tired and cranky  I can understand :)

Meanwhile, still no general public access at all here in KC. And our county health department was just told they aren't getting a shipment this week.
I saw that and thought "uhh wait what?" Between JoCo and Jackson both of those are juggernauts in the metro, we need acceleration of doses coming here not missed shipments. Do you think MO skipped Jackson in favor of their 'mass vaccination' sites elsewhere (that are not easily accessible for the metro)? I wondered that because of the news story that read "Missouri mass vaccination sites seek to inoculate 18,000 in one day" which was on Friday and really that was meaning 18K across 9 mass vaccination sites located around the state. I'll be honest I feel like that was just a clever way of making it sound like a lot of people were getting the vaccine. 18K is obviously good but it's not necessarily a whole lot spread out amongst 9 sites, it means some in each site got it.

Not defending the actions of these protestors.
But, if that’s what you think, I hope it’s consistent and believe anti-maskers should also be arrested.

Reality is, none of these discussed circumstances result in arrests.

I have no clue what the reason is. They posted that on the Jackson County Health Department Facebook page but made no mention of any reason why. It does seem that they are working a lot harder on the rural sites. I just wish they'd make some sort of statement on what is up and what their plan is. The comments were getting pretty rowdy. And rightly so.

I was able to get two appointments for Tuesday for my two sons who are Firefighter/EMTs. By the time I finally convinced them to get it, they ran out of the vaccine in their departments. One is very reluctant to get it so hoping he doesn’t change his mind. He’s been living with us and working on the medic unit these last few months and gets exposed to COVID every shift.

Some probably met the legal standard for arrest. At the very least disturbing the peace for walking around with bullhorns shouting towards vehicles. Again, the extent to which they "blocked" vehicles is under dispute. I heard that they did, but can't find any visual evidence.

I found this video from a college student working on journalism.

You are becoming a lab rat.

Free Speech!

I'm doing this for you, not me. I would rather be home. But you're going to kill youself. Voluntarily, becoming a human lab rat.

Voluntary lambs to the slaughter.

My wife got her second dose last week on Monday, had to take Tuesday off of work she was feeling so bad. Was fine Wednesday. This Friday she managed to get her parents vaccinated since there were some extra doses left in the vial at the end of the day. I was third in line for any extra they had yesterday, they ended up with two extra. I will wait as long as I need to but am ready to take it whenever I get the chance.
I hope you or others can answer this for me, even Moderna didn't know. Those of you that have gotten your 2nd Moderna Vac.... are you getting it in the same arm as the first shot?

BCLA........for the sake of what the OP (Mom2rtk) and the mostly helpful content intended for this thread.........maybe you should start your own thread as far as protesting the vaccine.......just saying. Not saying you believe in the protesters but just bringing their negativity into a thread that is suppose to be just informative.....might just be material for a different spot. :goodvibes

My father had his 2nd shot yesterday. So far no side effects. My mom is scheduled to get her second one on Thursday. My in-laws are not getting their second until 2/15.

No word on when I’ll be eligible. Our union spoke to DeSantis who responded that seniors are getting priority and when they are vaccinated, other groups will get the opportunity.

I have a feeling that I’ll end up with the J&J vaccine. I’d rather have one of the mRNA ones, but I will take whatever is offered.

I think I've already beat this dead horse. However, I really don't like starting a new thread if there's already a related one.

In this case, I hope you'll start another thread if you want to discuss it any further. It's the sort of topic that can derail an entire thread. And this one has a long way to go still with just the stated topic at hand.

I am scheduled to get mine on Tuesday at 5:30 at a teacher big vaccination event in Central Ohio. I still don’t believe it lol. We don’t have IDs this year because we didn’t do pictures due to Covid (small school)...so I’m taking a million other forms of proof. Still nervous to be turned away.

I will report back! I believe I’m getting Pfizer.
