Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

NC has apparently reached the point that they have plenty of vaccine available. I was grocery shopping today (Harris Teeter) and they announced more than once they had shots available in the Pharmacy.

I just read in NJ you can basically walk in and get one.

I got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday morning. Happy to report that the ONLY thing I have felt is a teeny bit of soreness if I touch my arm at the injection site. My brother got his the day before and didn’t experience any symptoms either. My elderly parents received theirs two months ago also didn’t have any symptoms.

DH and my youngest daughter get their second shots of Pfizer later today. Hoping they fare as well as I did.

I am wondering if there are a lot of us who have had no reactions but are hearing more about the ones with reactions? Would make sense in a way. I would imagine people are more likely to be open about it if they experience symptoms to kind of give others a heads up and share their experience. I think there are a lot of people who also don’t talk about it at all and don’t want to share whether they got vaccinated or not.

At any rate....hope everyone else fares as well as I did and we can get back to normal...whatever that is.😂

Are you saying you think the COVID vaccine caused the shingles?

Yes, her allergy doctor said it makes sense because the vaccine triggers the immune system. She does have many food allergies, etc. I feel so bad for her, she has been suffering with bad eczema this past year and now shingles. He still told her to get the second shot in two weeks.

About 18 hours post shot #2....feeling good so far, my arm is barely sore compared to first shot. Last night around 11pm I started feeling a little achy and my arm was getting really stiff and sore so I took a tylenol and went to bed. Felt a little warm about an hour or two later but didn't get up to check my temp because I was so tired so I don't know if I had a fever or if I was just having a hot flash...lol I slept well the rest of the night and my arm is only sore at the injection spot. Just like last time too, I am SOOO thirsty, feels like I can't get enough water. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

My dad also had his #2 yesterday. I called to see how he's feeling and he said he has a sore arm and was super tired last night but also, so far so good.

Be back if anything changes.

Those guys didn’t say a word to me as I pulled up, they just waved me through. So, I followed the two cars in front of me and the signs with arrows, missed the turn and ended up driving straight out of the facility! :rotfl: I don’t know if the other two cars meant to skip the observation area but all three of us drove straight out. Whoopsie!

That seriously made me laugh out loud for some reason (probably because I could see that happening to me). Glad all was well and you didn't actually need to be observed.

Myself, my S/O, my sister, and my mom's husband all got our second Pfizer shots yesterday.

Me - a TINY bit of a sore arm, less than the first shot. No other side effects. Honestly got worried she didn't push the plunger in with the dose, but that's just me being paranoid because no side-effects.

S/O - Sore arm. Same as first.

Sister - Sore arm.

Mom's Husband - Nothing at all. He had a sore arm with the first. He was convinced they didn't give it to him (he wasn't looking), but the pharmacist at my mom's company gave it to him and she saw them do it.

So....no side effects here.

I got my second today. So far, just a tiny bit of a sore arm, but its early. Kind of feel like I"m starting to feel "run down" but that could also because I'm hyper sensitive to ANYTHING that MIGHT be a side effect, and I also drove about 3 hrs round trip to get the vaccine, so.... who knows? Certainly nothing major yet.

I’m really liking to hear all the reports of no or very very minor side effects. I get my second shot next Wednesday and I am really hoping that is the case for me. I will for sure be following all the tips, tricks and wishful thinking that I’ve heard to help reduce the severity of any side affects.

I swear the Gatorade thing helped with my 2nd.

Lots of availability here in Michigan now, too. Many places now have walk-in vaccines available with no appointment needed.

That's not really a good thing, though, since we need to have 70% vaccinated to reach herd immunity and the momentum is slowing way down with us barely being more than halfway there.

It's the same in the country, too. There's now talk that the US might never reach herd immunity because not enough Americans are getting vaccinated.

We are on track - keep the faith:). With no 15 and unders allowed to vaccinate yet, we are at 43.6% of the country vaccinated with at least 1 dose (which represents 55.4% of 18+)...we can't vaccinate 15% more in a day, but give us another 8 weeks or so, and you should be very happy with where we are, whether or not the 12-15s are approved by then (and they should be, so we'll get to 70%+ possibly even faster)...

https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations
PS - It's 30.5% fully vaccinated (and 39% fully vaccinated 18+)...

I am stocking up this weekend. Plan to start drinking mass quantities starting the day before through the day after.
I read this without seeing the post you quoted, so I didn’t have any context. I thought you were talking about drinking alcohol, like you have vaccine anxiety or something so your plan was to go on a multi-day bender to get through it! :rotfl:
