Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Just an FYI/PSA, please remember to sign up for the V-Safe after your first shot. Very helpful for the CDC to follow up and useful for you also. Very easy to sign up. You'' get a text each day for 7 days and then one text a week for the following 3 weeks and then once a month for several months (if I recall those frequencies correctly).

Here is the correct frequency.....

How long do v-safe check-ins last?
During the first week after you get your vaccine, v-safe will send you a text message each day to ask how you are doing. Then you will get check-in messages once a week for up to 5 weeks. The questions v-safe asks take less than 5 minutes to answer.

If you need a second dose of vaccine, v-safe will provide a new 6-week check-in process so you can share your second-dose vaccine experience as well. Finally, you’ll receive check-ins 3, 6, and 12 months after your final dose of vaccine.

They say 5 minutes here. In reality, less than 1 minute, maybe 30 seconds to answer.

Link below for any and all information. You probably also received a flyer at your vaccination.

DH, DS & I received our first shots at two different mass vaccination sites. Neither site mentioned signing up for V-Safe.

They never mentioned to us either, but it was on the paper with out QR code
It may have been with our code too. I didn't notice it, but could have missed it. I really just skimmed over the link they sent. I no longer have it on my phone, so I can't look.

I didn't get any paperwork other than the vaccine card when I got my shot at Meijer. My sister did get paperwork with the V-safe info when she got her shot at Kroger. Not sure why Meijer isn't giving it out.

Unfortunately, the only other time I've seen V-Safe mentioned was on this board very early in the vaccination process. I had completely forgotten about it, until I read your post.

Same here, I think the only place I've heard about it is on this board come to think of it???

Not mentioned at all at our first or second appointments.

Its still too early to say. Studies coming out are showing it can stop transmission in certain cases. Full results are a long way off at the moment

My symptoms have been mild. Odd that my place of employment did the test to see if it was a variant but the lab refused to tell them if I had that or not. Pretty wild honestly. I did also take a blood test and the antibodies were indeed working.

The day after getting my first Pfizer vaccine and my only real symptom is a sore arm and it seems to be getting better throughout the day. Was a bit tired and headachy last night but that is not uncommon for me since I had come off a night shift the day before.

Update: DH & I received our 2nd Pfizer shot saturday. Yesterday, wasn’t horrible but as the day went on we had headaches, body aches, stomachs that were off and some fatigue. All in all, nothing terrible and had it been a work day, we could’ve worked. However, being a Sunday we did enjoy having a low key day. Today, feeling better but not 100%.

A co-worker got Mederna 2nd shot on Friday, We was down with a fever (got up to 103) chills, body aches, nausea and at times felt very hot and sweaty. She had this all day Saturday and it finally broke at some point last night. She said that she hasn't felt that bad since she H1N1 when she was in high school.

DH got his first dose of Pfizer on Saturday. He has had some arm soreness but nothing bad. Today he ended up taking off of work. He feels fine but he kept nodding off while he was trying to work. He is back in bed now sleeping.

I got my second Maderna shot this past Wednesday. Yesterday I got the swollen lymph node with some discomfort with it. Nothing that is too bothersome. I still have some arm pain but it is slowly getting better.

DD gets her first tomorrow......now she is nervous because thinking back she thinks when she was sick in Dec. 2019, she may have had covid, so we'll see her reaction to the shot tomorrow

That is another one of my thoughts - I was SOOOO incredibly sick in Dec 2019, 2 days after getting back from WDW. I have never been that sick. I wish I could test if I had antibodies already before getting the shot..

Got my Phizer yesterday woohoo, but my arm is so sore that I can not move it more than 2 inches. I had a frozen shoulder 10 years ago in that arm so wondering how long to expect this and if others had arm pain that badly. I expected soreness but this is really different and I read if they do shot too high you can get something called SIRVA. So how long does it take to recover and has anyone had their arm hurt that bad that they cannot lift it up sideways more than an inch or so.

I hope your arm is doing better. My DH had his shot last week and the next morning he couldn't lift it but just enough to wash his pit in the shower, ha!

My BFF had her 2nd dose last week and then ended up in the hospital 2 days later...it was suspected a stroke at first. How scary! They are saying "not related to the vaccine", but she isn't sure. She said it felt like a panic attack mixed with a migraine. Final dx was stress? She's a teacher, teaching in a pandemic, with all the tension of the world on his back...but, ya know. Oof.

Sigh. I hate second guessing all this stuff. I never used to overthink everything.
