Have you ever....

I am going with out my Hubby but I am the one with back issues. My entire spine is fused solid.

I do not experience as much pain as your husband, though. I took DD now 13 when she turned 6, and left DH and DD then 2 home.

Now DD13 is going on a trip with school so I am taking DD 9 for her 'mommy daughter' Disney trip.

We went 2 times in between with both kids and DH. He is just not that interested in going back to WDW and so he is staying home.

It will be my first solo trip away from DH in 3 years since my last major surgery. DD 9 is a little dissapointed the whole family won't be there but she is also excited that it is just her and I.

Your DH will probably enjoy the rest he will get being left home.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!! It has gotten me even MORE excited. I finally have a place where I feel like I'm allowed to show how excited I am!!!

Of course, I can't show it here at home anyway since the trip is a surprise for the kids!!!

I do feel a bit badly about the fact that I'll be waking them for the airport and saying GET UP!!!! We're going to DISNEY WORLD!!! (but your dad isn't) I know they'll be disappointed, but I know they'll get over it asap!

I've gone without my DH and kids. ;)

THis next trip my Mom and I are taking the kids...and DH isn't sad to be staying home. ;)

He'll live...he's a big boy that can take of himself. :thumbsup2

Yep...my DH is weird, he chose not to go 2x. So, we got him to drive us and pick us up at the airport, called numerous times etc.

It was great...however...absense really does make the heart grow fonder. I remember thinking...oh, I can't wait to see him etc.

Yep, many times with other family members and I was fine. The only time it was a problem was when I went to WDW solo to meet some Diser's. I ended up being alone alot of the time and missing him terribly because I was so bored! That trip would've been easier if I had ANY family member with me though.

Hope you have a great trip OP!!! :)

YEs, more times than I have went WITH him :)
He really doesn't enjoy crowds very much.

DW and I have each been to WDW without the other for biz related reasons.
It's certainly more fun together, but even under the worst circumstances you can still have fun at WDW:earsboy:

Not quite the same situation as you, as my kids are grown and on their own. But yes, I have taken a trip to Disneyworld without my DH. Just this past March in fact, a week there with my Mom. She's 72, and my Dad is no longer with us, and she wanted to see WDW once more before she dies (her words!) so she wanted to go, and she asked me to go with her. It seemed kind of strange, and at times I did wish DH was with us, but yet it was nice to make those kinds of memories with my Mom too.

I hope you have a great memory-making trip with your Mom too!

Yes, I've probably been as many time w/o him as w/ him.

He loves WDW. Hoever, he only gets X amount of vacation days a year. Me? I can take off as much as I can afford. He thinks I should never turn down a chance to go because he knows I love it and it makes me happy. He's a good guy. I probably would not be so nice about missing WDW trips! haha Although, he can go do a mtn. biking trip any time his heart desires!

Mom and I have gone several times just us or just us and a few kids (mine and my sister's). Mom and I also went with just dgk when my dad was alive. Those are precious, treasured memories!

Once I went a lone and met up w/just my parents. That was one of my most favorite trips. We had a blast.

In 25 days I'll be going with a girl friend. Just us, no kids. This is a first for me. To leave both DH and DD home and go with a friend? DD didn't want to go and neither did my friend's son. I think it'll be a blast. My friend is a lot of fun and we get a long well.
I have a few clients who are wanting me to go with them when they take their families too. I'd get to be "the tour guide" lol. We'll see! lol
