Gone solo but only stayed at the hotel? I want a little Disney in my life when I am going to visit some friends in Kissimmee and was thinking of staying on-site for a night or two. Have you ever done this and not done the parks?

I've done this once or twice and love it! No need to get up early to hit the parks - just sleep late, hang at the pool and hit Jellyrolls at night. I enjoy these as much as my trips with the parks included! :goodvibes

No, but I would like to :thumbsup2 DH says he does not think he could be that close to parks and not gopirate: , man I loce my DH

I would like to go and really explore the resorts, restaraunts, go parasailing, maybe a little minigolf and pool.:beach:

DS's are 14 and 17 and after this past Christmas when they each had 4 gifts under the tree they are rooting for a go somewhere, even if it is just Christmas Eve.:santa:

I did this for a business trip in February. My DBF (now ex) was supposed to go but ended up cancelling at the last minute. The conference was at the Beach Club and I decided to skip the parks. I went to the spa at the Grand Floridian, went to Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk, took a taxi to the outlet mall. Went down to the pool one day. One night I ordered room service and just hung out on my balcony overlooking the pool. I had a nice time.

Not for the whole time, but I did a 5 day trip once, where I only went to the parks on one day (I had a pass with one day left and didn't want to spend the money for a new one). It was lots of fun-WDW has so much to offer outside the parks. The resorts are attractions themselves!

I am doing this starting tomorrow morning! I didn't buy park tickets, I didn't make ADRs. I'm going to tour resorts, swim in the pool, be away from the snow, shop in DTD (maybe catch a movie!) etc.

I really wanted to go minigolf while down there, but it was POURING all day on Monday and very cold. I didn't want to chance it today in case I got stuck somewhere and miss my Magical Express. I had a blast resort touring, and I even sat through a DVC presentation. (Those AKL rooms are gorgeous! I'm not a fan of the new Contemp. DVC rooms, just isn't an appealing style to me.. which is weird since I really do like modern looks.)

I watched the fireworks outside of Magic Kingdom on Monday night during the rain. :)
