smack someone else's smug obnoxious brat upside the head?

That was me yesterday. After he did something that could have killed someone and did injure someone and the kid walked away laughing. I restrained myself but I really, really wanted to.

Your not allowed to say that someone's little angel is a brat, its not allowed here. There will be all sorts of excuses and hidden disabilities you are supposed to think of. As an answer have I ever wanted to smack someone else's smug obnoxious brat upside the head of course. The little darling I saw in the Magic Kingdom trying to kick a duck in the head for one.

Yes; I babysit for a family weekly. The kids are 4 and 2 and a half. Last week, the 4 year old had a pool party, and the mom asked a friend and I to come and help supervise the kids in the pool. We were warned that all the kids were under 5, and that there were 20 of them, so we would really be doing a lot of work keeping up with them.

All the parents were there, but one little boy's grandfather wasn't really paying attention to him. The little boy reached over (totally unprovoked) and grabbed the 4 year old I babysit by wrapping his hands around his neck and started shaking him. I freaked out and got his hands off and pulled the kid I babysit away, and told the other boy he wasn't allowed to do that. He got mad, and ran out of the hot tub to his grandfather, who turned to give me a nasty look.

I would have loved to smack him upside the head, but I didn't. I later found out from the mom I babysit for that the child has no rules, disrespects any authority figure, and gets away with everything. The family had never RSVP'd, so she hadn't had a chance to warn my friend and I how bad he is.

Yes and their parents to who I witnessed to them letting said child behave that way.

I'm with hereyago. I want to discipline the kid for the behavior and the parent for not disciplining for the behavior :rotfl:

YES!!!!!

we watched a friends two kids a while back (this always sticks in my head when i think about brats though...), she was about 9, i asked her how her day was, what she had done all day... her response was " my mother told me not to tell you what we did today." talk about :lmao:, i was soo taken back that i didn't know what to say or think. so i asked her mom about it when she got back to pick her up, she had told her not to tell anyone what they had done that day because they had gone to the courthouse for a speeding ticket..hiding it from dad too.

Kids only know what they are taught. It's the parents who won't correct them that I'd like to smack.
