Have you ever upgraded multi-day ticket to a power pass?

when the multiday ticket and your visit occurred during blackout dates?

Have you tried and were told can't upgrade to a PowerPass but could upgrade to a Preferred Pass w/o blackout dates?

Is it a relatively quick procedure at guest services to upgrade for the difference in ticket costs?

Do you have to upgrade on final day of multiday ticket? I think Disney 3 play tickets could be upgraded to pass later, after trip, they just were set to expire one year after first day of multi ticket.

The only thing you can't upgrade to a power pass would be the 3 park pass. You need to upgrade before you leave on the last day that your tickets are valid.

Isn't this an obvious workaround to blackout dates on first visit? I'd just feel better knowing someone tried it recently.

So, can buy 2 day P2P for $177 and then on second day, before leave park, make a quick stop to guest services and pay the difference between FL resident PowerPass $190 and $177; $13 to upgrade to PowerPass?

They give full credit for amount already paid................ just seems a little too good. Is the upgrade policy in print anywhere?

Thanks for the info.

It is only a work around if it is your first visit with the pass. People do the same thing at Disneyland all the time. Universal and Disney want you to come back and spend money.

Give guest services a call if you are still unsure. Upgrade policies never seem to be in print.

i believe that when you upgrade the 2 day PtP pass to the power annual pass, it will use the first day (of usage) of your original ticket as the start date for the power ap.

damo will correct me if i am wrong on that.

Yup, that's right.

But they're not going to make you upgrade to a Preferred Pass if what you want is a Power Pass.....even if you are upgrading during a blackout period. They are concerned about what you will do once you get the pass, not what you did before you got it.

Can you upgrade tickets you bought from a third party? (Undercover Tourist for example)

yes you can.

but, you pay the difference of your original price to the present price sold at the darkside.

they don't bridge like the motherland does.

if you bought the UO tickets before the recent price increase from UO, you would pay the difference for the upgrade to what the present price is at UO.

the bar code on the park tickets will reflect the price you paid for them.
guest services will scan the tickets you are upgraded and will know what price they are working with.

Thanks everyone! I was wrong about Disney, specifically thought it couldn't be done but found this......... I guess it's pretty easy to work around blackout dates if on first visit. I never thought I'd consider going anytime it was blacked out b/c of crowds.

Guests may upgrade to a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass or Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass even if the Magic Your Way Ticket was used during a block-out period.

Is it usually a pretty quick visit to guest services to upgrade and should be done BEFORE leave park, right? (Looking at two day multi-ticket option and then upgrade to powerpass w/o knowing if will come back but for the $13 price difference..........)

This is great information. We are going in two weeks and DD and I are big potterheads. If DA isn't open or have softs available I told her I would take her back on her college spring break which is in March. From what I see I can upgrade our tix (4 day ptp) to a powerpass on our last day and be good - correct? :woohoo: Anyone know the current gate price of the powerpass?

I thought I would update - I did upgrade our UT tixs to powerpasses on our last day and it didn't cost anything! Actually it came out that they should have given me $1 and some change back but I told the girl at customer relations not to bother.

Thanks for the information. Just curious if you remember where you bought your ticket from.
