Have you ever traded with a Jawa?

We went for Mardi-Gras 2016 and my kids had some really big cool shiny beads they had caught at some parades before we left. My kids did NOT want to trade them. The Jawa's kept going back and forth until they all surrounded my oldest and presented her with hand fulls of trinkets. My olders gave up some of the beads and the Jawa's rejoiced by running around and then quickly fighting over them. It was an awesome interaction. So the lesson learned might be to act not interested once they want to trade. It worked for my kids. :)

When meeting them in December, they took my husband! Took his hand from mine and walked away with him (after looking him up and down) LOL It was hysterical!

Last year, my niece tried to get a picture with the Jawa but he kept moving and didn't pose. So after a few attempts, we gave up and decided to take in the rest of Launch Bay. As we were leaving one area, my niece had her hands on the back of the seat of my scooter. Next thing I know, I hear her start laughing and several people around us start laughing. The Jawa had placed its hands on her shoulders and we had our own version of a Conga line. We decided that was much better than a picture! Now all I need to do is say "Jawa Conga" and she laughs.

We were there early February and the 1st time (around 11:30) the Jawas didn't trade
We went back later in the day and my son traded a large bouncing ball (from Old Navy .25). The Jawa chased it around the launch bay... So funny. DD traded a shiny bead necklace from the $1 store.
Really great interaction

I read in a guide that you could trade with the Jawas over at Launch Bay at Hollywood Studios. Has anyone done this? What did you trade? I have some beaded party necklaces that I was thinking of taking just to see.

They took my Mickey ears. The all silver one. My iPhone.
I got a squishy keychain in return.

We traded many times over our christmas trip. They loved our cheap colorfull necklace beads and also small disney badges.

Many times the Jawa's took our stormtrooper and Bb8 backpacks and ran off with them.

They have a tough job with heaps of people going up to them. We found just hanging back and standing at the bar they would always come over and approach us.

If you act casual you will most definately get a better experience from them.

Dont forget to shout Utinni with your hands in the air, they go nutts for it.

Sometimes you just have to join in on their fun and they will trade random "junk". One of my favorite memories of our trading was the time some little guy in front of us traded a glow stick to the Jawa. The Jawa played with it a while and then used it to cut off the other Jawa's arm. My son immediately grabbed a band-aid from our bag and the "hurt" Jawa gladly traded it even hugging him. It was hilarious.
