Have you ever switched resort reservations close to arrival date?

I posted this on the resort board, but figured i may get some good feedback here too.
So here I go again, thinking of switching from CBR to Poly. I just checked and the garden view room is still available, we are very close to our depart date.........I guess what is bugging me is the construction going on around the main beach/lake area at CBR, I know others have said this is not an issue, but something about all that construction stuff bugs me, I know these things have to be done,
on the other hand, I was leaning toward Poly when I booked to begin with, mostly to be on the monorail, and yes because it looks amazing. but back when i booked hubby talked me out of spending the extra $$, but now with the construction stuff at CBR, he is willing to spend the extra $$ if I want.
So now I am left to decide, I fear if something goes wrong of course it will be my fault since we have perfectly good reservataions at CBR in a preferred room.
but on the other hand something is bugging be about it all, and my gut is saying go for the poly.
if i do call to change what do they do if it's too close to send out new paperwork? I fear something getting screwed up.
and plus i already mailed a package to CBR...........would they send it over to Poly if i changed,
so much going on and so close,
any advice please!!!

No question about it - the Polynesian is a spectacular resort. I can't imagine anything negative coming out of an upgrade. If you call the front desk at CBR and ask them to send your package to the Poly, I'm sure they will. Don't worry about your confirmation coming in the mail, just write down the number and have your drivers license with you - that's really all you need. Have a great trip!

thanks, i can't see how anything negative can come out of it, but I am envisioning maybe getting a room in the farthest building from the pools, and hubby being upset over that, and saying "see we had the preferred room at CBR" that would have been nicer! but the Poly doesn't look all that huge to me as far as walking to the pools from the various buildings.
maybe I am wrong though having never been there.

We change our resorts and dates as close as 15 days before arrival and have never had any problems. We also stayed at the Poly last July and Samoa is right in the middle of both pools and one building away for the ceremonial house. Have a great trip!
