My wife and I are considering a 3-night escape to the Don CeSar resort in St. Pete. Most of the reviews seem favorable, but I'm a bit nervous about their "pet-friendly" environment.
Please understand that I am not an anti-pet person; in fact, I have a delightfully clueless Golden Retriever that I rather enjoy.
But I NEVER get to take a trip with my wife sans kids. All I need is to drop a bunch of cash on a 3-day beach trip only to have someone's "Fido" wake/keep us up every night. The hotel claims that pets are only allowed in certain rooms, but I know a dog's bark can really carry.
Should I worry or not?

The places we have stayed with our dog do not require anything extra as far as shot records. A couple places did charge extra because supposedly they would then do extra cleaning in the room. The only time ours barked was when the pizza delivery guy knocked on the door and when housekeeping knocked to ask if we wanted extra towels. As for sleeping on the bed we brought her own bed and kept her off the furniture. Not saying everyone does this but I'd guess the "extra" cleaning some places did involved washing the bedspreads.
