Have you ever seen a ghost?

In honor of Halloween, has anyone ever seen a real ghost or been in a real haunted house?

Yes I have seen a ghost. It was awesome and scarey at the same time. This particular ghost has a bad rep in our town so I had to see if it were true. She wasn't that bad, but I didn't provoke her like some do.

I have never *seen* a ghost, but I firmly believe that I lived in a Haunted House. Not a scary, creepy thing, but a co-habitat kind of ghost! We have had many strange occurances in the house and one night I was violently shaken while sleeping. Nothing bad has ever happened and the shaking was a one time thing, but the noises are hard to ignore sometimes when they want your attention! LOL

My daughters, who are now in College, will attest to the fact that they have seen a ghost in the house. One time my daughter, Jamie, was watching TV and she swears she saw Mrs. Kelly (former owner of our house, whose husband was a Doctor and had his practice in our house) walk by the TV.

It is nothing to me now to listen to noises or footsteps upstairs because the same things happen all the time. Each night at 9:00 (and I swear it is the same time each night), I can hear footsteps in my bedroom that walk from one side to the other. That is it, nothing more after that! LOL

I swear I've seen Resurrection Mary. The Chicagoians will know what I'm talking about. Freaked me out!

My aunt swears her house is haunted but I don't really have an opinion about it.

I have 2 active spirits living in my house, I have a porthole in my bedroom where they just come and go from. Apparently my house was built on some sort of sanctuary grounds and my house is "home" to the spirit world. I like it though, and I make use of them. lol

I saw one when I attended Emerson College in Boston. It was very weird because at first I just thought my mind was playing tricks on me. I was waking up and I thought I saw an old man with a long white beard wearing a hospital gown or an old fashioned men's nite gown. I just thought it was my clothes playing tricks on me as I was waking up. You know,how you think its something but its actually just your jacket slumped over the chair.

Well, it was strange because I kept thinking about it all day. I later told my brother who was shocked! He then told me the stories about the residence I was in at the time. Later I researched my old dorm and was terrified to learn of its evil history. I did not stay long at Emerson. I was extremely terrified of the building and was not at all feeling welcomed.

Now its been turned into condo's. I wonder if anyone there has seen anything....

I live in the Beverly-Danvers-Salem area in Mass which was were the Witch trails took place! I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end!!!

the above mentioned towns were at one time, all one -Salem Mass. my friend grew up in DAnvers, right near the"Rebecca Nurse site" OMG there are some many stories!

Her house is or was haunted. we would sit at her table in the kitchen on a Friday night......windows shut, doors closed and this wind would blow by use! the first time it happened it was scarey, but we started to enjoy this ....!! the ghosts name was "corney" the only one who saw it was her son. who at that time was just learning to talk!

Ryan would yell out "It is Corney" she is here! we did not think to much of this till one night, Ryan was sitting there playing with these very old...collectiable blocks....there were on the built into the wall bookcase! there was no one in the house that could hand these to him....they were out of reach! the only ones in the house were Sue, Ryan and myself....and you would need a ladder t reach them.

Sue asked Ryan "were did you get them?" he told her "corney" so basically he is the only one who could "see" her.

another day, Sues boyfriend was looking out the back window. he yelled to her "who is that old women in your back yard" she looked......it was her grandmother!!!!

She had been dead for amost a year!
we decided that she wanted to see Ryan. the first Grandchild in the family...hence WHY she had come around and became "corney"

and somewhere I took pictures by her house of 2 ghosts....whcih do not take pictures,,,,you just see this "blurr"!
so , yes, I could go on and on...it has become part of our lives!!!

I had a weird experience back before I got married and when I lived with a roommate. We shared the bedroom, and one night I woke up out of a deep sleep and the room was dark, but there was enough light from the hallway to see what I thought was my room mate standing in front of her dresser. She was wearing a long nightgown and it looked like she was taking clothes out of the dresser, folding them, and then putting them back in. I questioned her, why was she up in the middle of the night folding clothes and she did not answer but I could see her turn and look at me. All of a sudden, it looked like she was walking toward me and then she vanished. My heart started pounding and I called out her name, and reached over to turn on my light and lo and behold, she was not even the room, her bed still made. I waited up, (I couldn't go back to sleep!) and she got home from a party about an hour later. I was totally freaked out and moved from that place not long after. I later found out that a young woman had indeed died in that house and that was her bedroom. That was the only time I was ever freaked out. I didn't really believe in ghosts before that, but now I do.

I have never actually seen a ghost, but a few months after my grandfather passed away I was standing in the dining room of my home. I turned & saw these beams of light with floating star type things at the end of them coming towards me - it was kind of strange. This happened one other time to me after we moved. To this day I believe it was my grandfather just coming to visit - at least I like to think that!

I've never seen a ghost. I've "felt" their presence though and smelled the pipe of my great grandfather.

I have never seen a ghost but I believe I have heard them or felt their presence. We have a son who died and I often hear someone call me Mommy when no else is around. It is very distinct and always sounds the age of what he would have been at the time I hear it. I have also felt the presence of my grandfather. Always at weird times. Have not been able to pinpoint a reactionary for it, but there have been time I feel he is standing near me watching. He died 6 years ago and it has happend maybe 10 times.

I previously worked in a local college bar for 11 years. It is in a very old building in a small town. They have since remodeled much of it, but I did see a ghost when I first started (before all the renovations). Apparently two people died in this building-one by suicide and another in a fire. I was in the basement getting ice and I looked over and saw a black blurred, human figure run past me. There have been quite a few sightings/feelings from employees.

I also smelled bananas after my grandfather passed away (he loved them!) and cigars from my uncle.

I have been on ghost tours throughout Gettysburg- now thsoe are some spooky and interesting stories!!

yes I live in a huanted house . People never believe me till they stay here . Some never make it through the night they leave when the "feel" or see him , sometimes they run !

This is very wierd that this post came up. I believe in spirits. My mother-in-law passed away three years ago on Nov.1st. This morning my mother was watching my little one when she says she saw a shadow of someone walking by in the living room. The shadow was dark like it was someone. This happened twice. She also told me she had been thinking of my mother-in-law because on Nov.1st coming up. I believe it was probably her making sure everything was okay. I had a surpise baby after 17years. She only new my first two girls. She loved them so much! She only had two sons so she was thrilled when I had my girls. I know she would be so happy with our third little girl. We named her Isabella Santa. My mother-in-laws name was Santa. She was from Italy. A wonderful, wonderful women who died of liver failure at 57 years old. I miss her dearly. I know she is around us.

I've seen a couple of what I would call spirits, or angels. One was grandfather who visited me when he died. He had his heartattack very early in the AM. He visited me at the foot of my bed. He spooked my cat and the cat is what woke me up. Paramedics got his heart started again, but he died later that day.

the second Angel was my friend Pam who appeared to me a few weeks after her death. I was very depressed at the time. She had jsut been murdered and my 2st marriage had ended very violently. I had nothing, no job, no money and really place to live. My now ex had been threatening me so I was leaving town to stay with my sister for a while. I had decided to commit sucide by running my car of a bridge. I knew I would have to be going very fast to go through the guardrail so I decided to floor the excelerator as soon as I passed the county line (I was on an interstate and the lake was abotu 2 miles from the line) By the time I coudl see the bridge I was going near 100MPH. just then I felt someone in the car with me. I look over and it was Pam. I all of a sudden felt like I had a life to live. It was like she spoke to me without speaking. She then pointed down the road ahead of me and there was a huge rainbow stretched out in the sky.


We also have a ghost in our house. He stays in the kitchen and at first would play with the stove. We would hear the burners come on (the clicking of the electronic ignition). A couple of times we would find the burners on. When I told him to stop her started playing with the tea kettle. He would throw the whistle or make whistling sounds when the kettle wasn't on. I told him to stop that so now he plays with the ice maker. We will hear the ice maker dispenser come on with no one in there. Then we will find ice all over the floor

I do believe....

Someone comes to me at night. I smell smoke from his cig. I think it's my friend Sam who committed suicide, but it could be my Grandfather.
My husband did not believe me b/c he couldn't smell the smoke (and he was closest to the window where IF there had been smoke, he would have had to smell it). He had to roll on top of me to smell it (he tried to walk around to my side of the bed and couldn't smell it). He believes me now.
Sam as come to me in my dreams... we just have a normal conversation... his death is never mentioned. It's always when I am at my most stressed out moments these two things happen. I really miss him and it's been over 10 years since his passing.


When we lived in Skagway (Alaska) a gold rush town, we lived in my Grandma's old hotel/ restaurant and we'd hear people going up and down the steps and doors opening and closing. And we were the only ones there.

we have lived in several haunted houses over the yers, have a ghost now that erally likes our cast, we will catch coco and or shadow playing with someone,, up on back paws batting at the air,, and no one is inthe room.. no bugs,, etc,, she enters thrugh the very center of the house,, which is our fireplace, and she likes the ideas we hgave to fix up the house,, she also has changed our mind son a few things ie kitchen colors and a bed room ceiling


i've seen a lot of ghosts , the most recent i was on web cam visiting with a frienbd in south louisianna and i kept seeing a vague human shape pass behind her following her kids around, she never saw her,,, till i froze her webacm imagfe and sent it back to her, she says its a lady that used t o live in her house,, who had left behind her dog,, hich the fmily had adopted and taken in.
