Have you ever requested and not gotten connecting rooms? (with a door)

We are a family of 5... three small kids.... and DVC members. I would like to stay at all the resorts at WDW, but we really want connecting rooms and I fear not getting them, since they are a request and not a reservation.

We requested connecting rooms in July at AKL for my DS and his best friend. When I made the reservation CRO said we would definately have one due to the ages - both 14. I was a little surprised that she was very adament that we would have connecting rooms - and we did! I would make sure that when you make your reservation you let them know the ages of the children in the other room. Maybe they just didn't want 2 14 year old boys "on their own"!

We have requested connecting rooms twice. Once at WL and once at All Star Sports. We got them both times.

Whenever I've requested it at POFQ (at least 6 times), I've always gotten it.

We requested connecting rooms at Pop Century last week and received them.

When traveling with children I have requested and always received a connecting room at Deluxe and Value.

We checked in once a few years ago and did not receive connecting doors, but they told us not to unpack because they would be moving us the next morning to ones that connect. My parents were in the next room.

Requested twice -- no problem either time. Coronado Springs and All Star Sports.

I was told when I made a recent reservation that a connecting room is guaranteed when you are traveling with children as long as there is not a third adult in the party. If there are more than 2 adults, it becomes a request and not a guarantee.

With 2 adults and 3 kids you should get what you have requested.


Also, my previous experience is similar to the other responses. I have taken my mother along on a couple of trips and have always gotten the connecting rooms I requested, even with a third adult.
