I reported someone last night along with dh and about 3 others...

DH saw a girl whose signature read "Lift my skirt and make it hurt" scary thing there

She disappeared and a message of "the situation has been taken care of - thank you for reporting it" popped up lol

I reported a nasty boy a week or so ago. He was blocking the log that leads to the other side of the forbidden temple. He was asking girls to be his and when they were saying no he was saying "fine I have a bit and get a lot of as anyway". NICE!!

I reported a girl yesterday. I was on the Jungle Cruise Dock bridge and she told me to get off her bridge and to move (I was not blocking the way), so I ignored her. Then she said, "I will kick your as" over and over, so I reported her.

No I have not reported anyone. I guess it never occured to me to. I laughed out loud at someones name though I guess it is not appropriate it made me I don't think my 11 year old would get it. It was Captainlongsword. Should I have reported him? I don't know but he did make me laugh and laugh and laugh.

I reported another person- this one had the name that can't even be typed on this board but it rhymed with twitchen and started with a b and didn't have the t or w in the beginning...

I just clicked report and put in "do you really think this title is good for all the kids to read on vmk?" I wish appropriate/inappropriate was in the stupid dictionary by the way...

Got the "thankyou for helping keep the environment safe" message lol

does the vmk staff ever show up when you report someone?

I had staff come one time when I needed them. There were a bunch of kids that were blocking the way to the tomorrowland games (of course, I'm there all the time...lol), and I reported them. BTW, they wanted people to pay to get past. Well anyway, one of them crashed and before one of his friends could step in the space, I teleported past real quick. Then, you got it, VMK_Blue comes in the room and says, "Don't block the path". Now here comes the kicker. They said, "You cant make us"...I was like, 'Oh my goodness, they are dead meat!!' VMK_Blue did not say anything, but they started to vanish one by one. Then VMK_Blue said, "There you go; all clean...lol". So thats my expirience with reporting...lol. BTW, that was fun lol!!

It was my first week ever on VMK and I boarded the monorail. There was this guy there who asked me r u taken. I simply said yes (married 10 years and 2 boys...means taken right?)...He then started calling me a "beach" and many other things that didn't make sense to me at the time...now they do...I was so turned off I almost logged off never to return, then I saw the report button. I did report him, but I have no idea what happened.

This board has made me realize that VMK can be a fun safe place for adults to hang out too. My hubby laughs at me for playing, but I think he is just jealous!

ok this is beginning to sound like the same girl I reported yesterday and today again...She got booted both times I think she is heading towards a permanent ban. She was going around calling everyone a beach.

I often report when kids (I assume) are being especially verbally mean or cursing. Mostly if they do it repeatedly. I've seen plenty of "beach", "-kick-", "as" and "ugly".

With the dictionary, you can't say "call", "word", "said" or "repeatedly".

One time, I reported a girl in Small World for going around calling a number of people ugly. Because of the dictionary, I couldn't clearly explain what she had done. A little while later, I got a message saying that I shouldn't call people names, even if they had done so. I can only assume this was from what I said in the Report box. In the room itself, I was just reminding other players of how to use the Ignore button.

I'm starting to think the answer is to just report and not give a comment, or maybe just one word, like language or offensive (obvisously something that is in the dictionary).

Yes, Jellyrolls - I forgot you were there as your mule! That was her second trip back, actually. I reported her before that, told her that I did, and she took off. Then she came back and acted as a sentry on the end of the bridge.

In response to Mal, I think this girl had a name, not a Guest123456 title. She was quite rude.

I've met some rude boys, too. One came into my room and said he had to "pi pi" (how that got into the dictionary, I'll never know!). He proceeded to walk to the corner, and then made some kind of hissing sound that the dictionary allowed. We were all so shocked, no one reacted at first. Then my good friend, RiceOwl, approached him and admonished him. We all reported him as well.

But I have to agree with you overall, Mal. The girls do tend to be ruder than the boys I have met. Go figure!

Oh, that reminds me of something that happened to me when I was still
new in beta. I had my name already, but I was sitting on Main Street
when a Guestxxxxx came up to me to tell me:

"u r ugly"

Ok... My response:

"I don't care." So then he tells me I'm ugly again. My response was:

"I still don't care." The boy clearly seemed taken aback by my lack of
response to his little game, so I continued on:

"I like being ugly." After that, he disappeared.

I was in DoomCookie's room last weekend, and some girl kept on telling me I was ugly when I was dressed in my ugly clothes. All of us were trying to tell her to be nice, then everyone else got ugly. She kept on getting right in my face saying, "You are ugly. You are ugly." Someone reported her, and a staff member did end up coming. Cookie had just booted her.

One time I was in Central Plaza and this girl wearing gold ears was going around calling people names (aka cursing). I told her to please be nice,then she told me to shut up. Then the ### showed up! I reported her and got the Ignore message,then she walked over to the end of the room and before she could get through,she got banned from VMK. It is so obnixous for people to "dance around the dictionary." I'm still glad she got banned.

I tried to report someone recently but by the time I found words that are in the dictionary, the person was long gone so I gave up. Why on earth do they have a restricted dictionary for the report feature? It shouldn't be necessary because the report goes to VMK staff, correct? I suppose some users could send abusive reports but the staff could just ban them.
