Have you ever posted a vent, or what would be considered drama on here?

Not me, I'm a bit of a closed book when it comes to internet forums. No drama or vent posts coming from me, I prefer to talk to people I know in RL!

Yeah... I have posted 2 threads about issues I had with my brother and SIL.

I suppose I didn't want to vent to anyone I knew or who could know both of us, but wanted to get things off my chest. I try not to post stuff like that too often and even when I do discuss personal stuff I change names, locations, and any identifying details since the vent is really just about my need to talk! The first thread seemed to get laughs, the second one erupted into lots of drama....

No major drama from me. First, I am blessed with being very happy in most of my relationships. Second, people on this board and probably most internet forums do not know me well enought to know where I am coming from and things get all twisted. I will have to say I have been tempted a few times. How much does anyone want to bet that someone gets all bent out of shape about people talking about getting bent out of shape? See it has already started.

I have on occasion, primarily when I was looking for support during some difficult times (Mother diagnosed w/ cancer and subsequently passing away, a health scare, and then a miscarriage are a few that come to mind). I don't really have any close friends and sometimes I need to talk to someone other than DH or my sister. Everyone was very nice and supportive and the responses truly helped me cope.

Now, I have innocently started threads on rather mundane topics that subsequently turned into controversy but that's a whole other issue and simply the nature of discussion boards.

I posted once about my niece's weird behaviour towards my son, and thank goodness I did! Everyone on here agreed with my husband, who was extremely concerned about how she was acting. And if something makes the CB agree with each other, to a person, I'm going to pay attention.

Not on the Community Board but once I posted on the Family Board asking advice about DD13, makeup, shaving her legs and stuff like that. It got twisted into me being a prude who was trying to hold her child back. LOL Which clearly I'm not as both of my girls have red, blue or purple streaks in their hair! LOL It was a bit funny how many of the posters didn't even actually read the OP, they just skimmed it and made judgements.

Things do get really twisted around in internet forums. I've never really posted a drama thread, but I did get some fairly negative responses to two inoocent threads. I usually just let the threads go. I prefer to save my ability to slice and dice people for real life.

Trust me on this, HG. Boring IS good!

As far the OP is concerned, many times, I think the drama on this board stems more from the people reading and responding to it than from the people posting it.

The towel thread Meg mentioned is a good example of what I mean. She asked how to keep people from using her good towels, and that thread developed some legs! However, the drama that arose came from the people posting on the thread, not from her.
