I am thinking about getting t shirts made up for our group for our upcoming trip. I have found zazzle.com and wonder if anyone has ordered from them and if so, what has your experience been? Are there other places I should consider?

Thanks

I did 2 years ago. I ordered white t-shirts with Mickey on the front with our names underneath. They were fun, but faded very quickly. I was disappointed in the fading. I posted about this before, and no one else seems to have had the fading problem like I did...no, I didn't bleach them! ;)

We made our own shirts for our last trip this last Dec. We just bought t-shirst at our local craft store and designed the pics on the computer. Each shirt had an emblem on the front left area with each person's favorite character and the date of the trip. We then printed them on transfers for colored shirts and printed them out, ironed them on and we were set to go. We did get some coments about them the days we all wore them. Even a few coments from CM.

Thank you for your input. I don't feel "crafty" enough to do what you did Becky. Do you typically do stuff like this?

We ordered from zazzle... The shirts turned out great! We didn't experience any fading. :smickey:

There was a thread a while ago where a bunch of people posted the iron-on designs that they had made so others could use them. My mum and I used a couple for our trip (and got some really nice comments) and I think the craftiest thing we had to do taking that route was cutting the designs out :)

I have thought about Zazzle, but I think we will make ours. I like to be creative and truthfully, they seem a bit costly to me.

One thing you could do would be to get plain white T-Shirts, wax paper, and crayons. Have everyone make there own design(making sure to spell everything backwards) on the wax Paper. Then Iron on the wax paper to the T-Shrit. The kiddies seem to love this and it adds to family time. Then it you really want to add to the trip take sharpies and get the charcters to sign the T-shrits. Its a cute and e-z treasure that your kid can always have:thumbsup2

i ordered from zazzle and loved the shirt that i got! zazzle has so many options! i was actually just on their site last night and thinking about ordering from them again. i tried the iron on thing and ruined 2 shirts, so i'm clearly not crafty...

I ordered a Zazzle shirt for MNSSHP. The quality of the shirt is nice and shipping was fast. I can't comment on fading as I've only washed the shirt a few times. Since it's a Halloween design, I don't wear it often. The sleeves seemed a little long (I got a scooped neck woman's t-shirt), but otherwise the fit was good. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would order from Zazzle again.

i havent ever ordered from zazzle-but i do know people that have and also had trouble with the fading. i have ordered from designashirt.com and was really happy with how they turned out. this company does screen printing (instead of iron-on) and the shirts have lasted for a couple years! they do have a minimum order of 6 and you can sometimes search for coupons on their homepage. good luck!:cool1:

You can also try out CustomInk.com for your next family trip/adventure t-shirts. I work for the company and see lot's of people making vacation t-shirts through our online service.

You can either make individual shirts (digitally printed) or traditional vivid colored screen printed t-shirts -- all online. Keep in mind that there's a minimum of six t-shirts for screen printing but still few enough to be "family-friendly".

Good luck!

My husband has very recent poor experience w/ Zazzle.com -- in November, he ordered an apron for me for Christmas, with a photo of the kids printed on it. Well we got a message on our answering machine several weeks later, as it turns out Zazzle shipped my apron & order summary to a different customer in another state (they looked us up online to call and let us know they would mail it to us, since DH told them it was to be a gift). The next day, DH received somebody else's Zazzle order in yet a different state.

Zazzle does not have a CS phone number; they only do CS by email. Til my husband finally contacted them (attempting to get this apron before Christmas) they emailed that they would send a replacement... 4 weeks later, it still has not been received. They told us "just to wait" and DH has asked for a full refund plus postage because of the service fiasco mix-up, but they insist on re-sending the product if we don't get it within a couple weeks.

Thanks to a total stranger who looked us up and sent my apron--out of their own expense as well-- I did eventually receive my apron. The quality of the apron itself is really nice, but the photo is crooked and IMHO not much better than T's I've made by printing a pic & ironing on at home.

This experience was the 1st I'd ever heard of them(DH found it somehow online) but I know for certain that DH will never order from them again. Good luck!

I had the exact same problem. Ours faded immediately with just 3-4 washings......and we washed them inside out, cold water, hang to dry.
