Have you ever noticed...

My friends and I were talking about disney movies today, and Alice in Wonderland came up. Has anyone ever noticed [I'm sure you have.] just how many drug references there are in that movie? She takes pills that make her shrink, pills that make her grow, she hallucinates [doors getting bigger, smaller, flowers talking, etc.] The chesire cat is basically a hallucination. The caterpillar is even smoking a hookah! The whole thing seems like it's based off of an acid trip.

Yeah, I bought an Alice wallet in Disneyland and on the back it shows Alice saying "Oh, a caterpillar smoking a hookah!" It's made for some good laughs.

It is said that Louis Carroll (the author of Alice in Wonderland) wrote this based on a dream he had while he was on drugs. That rumor has basically been solidified as time moves on. Many, many people are seeing how many actual drug references there are. In fact, Disney toned it down a bit from the actual piece of writing.

Did you know that when Alice in Wonderland first appeared on screens, it was a total failure? A lot of people rejected it (seeing the drug points) and this film was a major down point in Walt Disney's career. However, over time (as it became a classic) it became more popular and enjoyed.

i never relized til now about the drug references,i just watched it as being the dopey person i am
