Done laundry at the resort during a 5-6 day trip to WDW?
I'm trying to do this on my upcoming trip...the thing is I'll probably have to bring 10 pairs of socks.LOL!:)

I actually had NEVER done laundry on a WDW trip until I joined DVC and had a washer and dryer in my room. We plan on staying at the Poly in Feb for a week and I won't do laundry then. I just pack enough stuff to last the week for us, with a few extras!!

We've never done laundry on any Disney vacation. Last year we were gone from home 9 days and it was a real challenge packing enough to last that long and still fit it in the car! I hate doing laundry at home and I'm sure not going to do it on vacation. This next trip is for 14 days and we're flying. It's impossible to pack enough and stay within the airline limit on luggage, so I checked and WL has laundry service. I don't care what it costs, we're using it!:Pinkbounc

I have even gone for 10 days without doing laundry (but I don't have kids either - except for DH :p )

:)

With 4 kids, I usually wind up doing laundry wherever we go. Hate having to, but the alternative is to pack 15 pieces of luggage as opposed to 10.

I've seen pictures of the AKL Laundry it looks great. Besides with 10 days I'll probably need some peace time away from the kids. LOL

The only laundry Ive ever done on vacation was to dry my sneakers in a dryer after getting caught in a downpour. Even then, DH did that for me(it was our honeymoon after all!).
The longest Ive been away for on these trips have been 8 days with 2 kids or 11 days, just DH & I.

I don't do laundry on a 5 day trip. I jsut got back from a 15 day trip and did laundry twice! I do have two kids though. I

I TRY to pack enough so I don't have to do laundry, but somehow I usually end up having to wash something.

I have never done laundry on any vacation, a vacation is just that, no laundry, making beds, cooking, just having a relaxing time then when I get home I washed wash wash. :D

We always do laundry. Who wants to have to take the house with us. We stay for 10 days and on the fifth and the ninth day we do laundry. Who wants to take dirty clothes home.

We also have four kids and did laundry for the first time last November, which was our longest trip (10 days) We all have enough socks and underwear, but I'm the one without enough warm weather clothes to last 10 days. I wear grubby stuff most of the summer because I like to work outside. Also, if we would have had a couple of cool weather days (November), I wouldn't have had to do the laundry but we ended up wearing summer clothes the whole trip. I definately won't complain though because the weather was beautiful

but I actually enjoy doing laundry while at WDW. We always stay at Fort Wilderness and the cabin laundry is right by the pool. I take the kids to the pool, let them work off some energy and I enjoy doing the laundry and reading a good book in-between loads. I am usually finished by the time they are ready to go so everything works out great!;)

When it was just DH & I, we did a lot of travelling (2 weeks in Europe, multiple 7-day cruises, etc) & we never did laundry. I decided when DS came along that I wasn't changing the tradition. We have gone on vacation with DS for as long as 2 weeks without washing so much as a pair of socks. We always fly and somehow manage to squeek under the luggage restrictions. :D

We did laundry at the Dolphin (stayed at Swan). Ranged from virtually empty to packed with people. I took a book along the one night to read and the other time I wandered up to the gift shop - no one messed with our laundry.

We were gone for 18 days and 17 nites (1 nite University Visit, 2 nites on the road, 1 nite at Universal, 10 @ Swan, 2 at Marriott WGV in St Augustine and 1 on the road again). So with myself, dd and 18 year old son we racked up the laundry!!! It was really warm so I was changing 2x per day and when he was golfing he changed a minimum of 2x - once even 3x in a day.

I took along dryer sheets and the soap tablets (do they still make them? My local WM no longer has them) as they travelled really well.

I had never even *thought* about doing laundry on vacation. That is, until I took my nephew with me! Every trip to WDW where I brought him along, I've had to wash clothes!

Just the 2 of us - but, we have never done laundry on vacation. We will be at the Polynesian for 10 days this December & don't plan on doing any laundry then either. We always end up getting some souvenir t-shirts to wear if we run out of clean clothes! ;)

We usually do not do laundry on our trips. We have only done it 2 times in all the times we've been - once when my son was very small, and once when he was older and we allowed him to take a friend, and the friend's parents packed like 4 outfits for the kid for 2 weeks! LOL

When we take my husband's grands I always do laundry. Clay seems to insist on wearing his favorite shirt more than once and Brooke always runs out of something. I take a cool folding laundry basket thingy I bought at Target (it starts out as a little flat thing and out pops a carry-all, it's cool if you don't get smacked when it opens), some detergent I've doubled baggied and a bunch of quarters. Then I too read a book or sit by the pool while it gets done. Actually a quiet break for me - the "almost-grandma." And I too hate carting home tons of smelly laundry.

For 5-6 days I will not do laundry. For anything over that- definately. Also depends on the time of year. We're going in Jan this time and dont plan on sweating quite so much so we wont be changing our clothes so often nor will we be swimming as much. In Sept or Oct, I might do it- but def. bring pre-bagged detergent and bounce sheets. Its expensive there!
