I have never done this before but I am thinking of just taking carry on suitcases because we have had too many problems with our luggage lately so I thought if I ship my shampoos, coffee filters etc then I won't have to worry when I pack. If this is possible who do you ship to ? We will also have the owners locker this trip so anything extra will fit nicely inside my locker. Thanks for any info. :cheer2:

yup I did it for me last trip no problems. Addressed the box to the resort and then put attn: My name /Check-in Date:

They had it for me at the front desk when I arrived. I shipped by UPS so I could track it.

Hi tink4ever,
Lots of our Members do this and it's easy--just like DVCAmy says. You'll need the street address of the resort you're staying in...let me know if you don't have it. It sounds like this will be your first trip using Owner's Locker. If so,you might want to look over the lists of things people store in their Locker to get ideas of what you'd like to keep in yours. Many people have a stash of things at their home that they just use while at WDW. There are probably some other items--like full sized toiletries, laundry detergent, liquor, etc. that you might want to buy in Orlando rather than ship because they are too heavy/bulky to ship.

I ship a box every year to BWV - no problems. They hold it until I arrive and then deliver to my room. I use UPS also; can use FedEx too; but absolutely DO NOT use USPS. UPS and FedEx deliver direct to the front desk of the resort. The U.S.mail gets delivered to a central mailroom on Disney property and it's been reported by others, that it can take days for your package to make it's way over to your resort.

Always ship a box....waiting when I arrive...

put your name and day you check in.

I did this last year. It worked out well for me. I sent it to OKW and it was waiting for me when arrived.:)

Great to see this thread! DW and I are ging to be getting an Owner's Locker before our summer trip to AKV and I was thinking of shipping down the things I am going to put in our locker. Sounds like an esy process!

I wonder how long they will hold the box for you? 2008 will be the first time we actually spend Christmas at WDW. I want a Christmas tree for the room and probably a couple of presents for DD (from you know who...Ho Ho Ho). I really don't want to fly with all of this stuff, but I want to ship it as cheap as possible and it still get there in time. I'm trying to figure out the best way to enjoy our Christmas at the world.

P.S. I feel totally crazy for planning for Christmas now.

I do a lot of promotional products (logo stuff like shirts, etc) and often ship multiple boxes to conference hotels (including Disney) for companies that are having meetings on site. While I generally have a pretty good idea of when packages should arrive and aim for an in hand date, often a factory will surprise me and get the products done and shipped a bit early. I have had no problems at all with hotels holding shipped packages for several days. Just be sure the label includes the words "Guest (your name) arriving xx/xx/xx" You should be just fine.

How many days before your arrival date do you ship it to the resort?

We usually arrive on Saturdays for most of our vacations; so I try to plan so that UPS delivers on the Friday before. In 2007, we were arriving the Sat. after Thanksgiving, so not knowing how the holiday would affect shipping, I allotted extra time. My boxes arrived at the BWV on the tues. before we arrived. I had the label marked with my name and date of arrival; there was no problem with them holding it for me for those extra days.

It will depend upong where you are shipping from. I was arriving on a Sat so I mailed mine by UPS on Monday so it would arrive Thurs or Friday. Give yourself an extra day ro so just to be on the safe side.

Last year I did quite a few ship-to-resort boxes from Amazon and Drugstore.com - they both offered free shipping w/orders over 25$ - and that way I just ordered stuff I'd need online, clicked a button, and it was there waiting for me @ WDW.

I even had a book I wanted pre-ordered to ship to VB as soon as it released, so I got a new novel 1/2 through vacation to read! :thumbsup2

I'm shipping down a 28 pound box with UPS 3 day mail and it will cost me $18
