This is a new place that just opened up near our house. It's a "take and bake" pizza place. You pick up the pizza and cook it at home. It's supposed to be cheaper than delivery and "better" than frozen. Just curious if anyone has tried it and what you thought.

Is he Papa John's brother or cousin?:teeth:

Sorry... never heard of it.

The pizza is great, of course I may be a little bias since I worked there! I worked at the first Papa Murphy's to open in Colorado Springs about 7 to 8 years ago.

I'm surprised it took so long for one to open in your town, but you'll be glad! I recommend the Chicken Garlic Pizza. It has a white ranch garlic sauce instead of the traditional red sauce.

If you're into red sauce pizzas, they have plenty of those! The pizza takes anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes to bake, so it's really convienent. You can call ahead your order and they'll have it ready for pick up.

I wouldn't say it's cheaper than delivery. Most large and family size pizzas run between $9.99--$12.99. Papa Murphy's will run specials, so always inquire.

They also sell calzones, bread sticks and other items that I don't know of. Since I don't work there anymore, I'm out of the loop!

Beth,

I also recommend looking at Papa Murphy's website. They have a menu online.

Just my opinion, but Papa Murphy's tastes better than Papa John's.

Papa Murphy's is really fresh. All the dough and toppings are made and chopped daily. I remember rolling the dough. That was fun!

The pizza comes on a disposable tray. Just pop it in the oven and discard the tray afterwards.

You probably didn't need all this info, but Papa Murphy's was one of the funnest jobs I had. Worked there for almost 2 years.

::yes::
We just tried Papa Murphy's last week for dinner and enjoyed it quite a bit. They were very generous with all the toppings and everything seemed very fresh. THey also have salads, cheese bread, low-fat/Low-carb options, and homemade chocolate chip cookie dough to "take n bake" as well. ENJOY!

We love Papa Murphy's! Their family size pizza is bigger than anything else you can take home in our town. I get cheese and take it home and add more cheese and turkey pepperoni and it tastes just like a restaurant baked pizza! They can be put right into the freezer and frozen, if you like, but they should sit out a little to allow the crust to rise a bit before baking if you should freeze them.

For New Year's I thought I would be real smart and bake 4 of their family pizzas on a pizza stone instead of the tray. I thought they came out so good on the paper tray they come on, I thought they would be sooooooo much better on a stone. BIG MISTAKE! They don't come out better baked on something else....leave them in the paper trays!

Yes, I've heard of and tried Papa Murhphy's. Almost everyone I know loves it, including my family. Except me! I don't like it, sorry! It's a great idea, I wish I liked it!

we love Papa Murphys and eat it probably once a month! :)

LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!

NEVER goin' back to soggy, lukewarm delivery!

It's a lot less expensive in Indianapolis too! Yummmmmmmm!

We love the Cowboy, Papa's Favorite, and Veggie Garlic. We find that the garlic sauce pizzas with meat are too greasy.

LOVE the low carb and we aren't "low carb" people, it's a thin cracker crust, but it's not very filling! MMMMMMMMM!

Love the cookie dough, the salads are hit & miss.

They ALWAYS have coupons, they never expire! We keep them in the car so we can just drop in!

Wow, this is good to hear! There's a PM in the complex I work at, and I've been wondering if it's worth bringing DH home a pizza every now and again. I guess so!

We love Papa Murphys. I don't know if there is one in AZ.

Love Papa Murphys. Our family favorite is the Barbeque Chicken pizza which is only available during summer. It is awesome!!!

YUMMY! I love Papa Murphy's, it's SO delicious. I've been eating their pizzas since I was a little girl. I love being able to take one home instead of the nasty soggy delivery stuff.

It's also great because if you have veggies, pepperoni, olives, chicken, sausage, etc in your fridge already, you can order a cheese pizza and add your own toppings at home. :D
