Have you ever had your eyebrows professionally done?

See, I knew you couldn't stay away!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc The question now is, what shape is your eyebrows in? :flower:

Buckalew11, you could use that little magic wand on me. Heck while we are at it could it take care of the hair on my legs? (that one is a whole nother story! :rotfl: )

:rotfl: From what I hear these days, I'd be waving my magic wand all over people!!!!! :rotfl2: :teeth:

I get mine waxed every few weeks. It's $12. I get it done at the hairdresser. Yes, it hurts, but not too much. I find that tweezing hurts more.

Back home I get it done every few weeks, for $12. I actually really enjoy having them done, they always look so much better afterwards! Now that I am in central London, its 15 pounds (around $27/28) minimum for waxing, so I have only gone once and have just tweezed the rest of the time. I am looking forward to going back to having perfectly shaped brows again. :)

My hairdresser does mine for free. Since menopause, I only have to have it done every 6 weeks or so. My brows are getting whiter, and the growth has slowed down to a crawl (same in other formerly hairy areas) so it's almost an non-issue these days. :rotfl:

That's another good thing about menopause. I used to have to shave my legs/pits and tweeze daily. (But I always shaved my armpits at night so I wasn't applying anti-perspirant to open areas. It harkens back to the good old days of deodorants that would sting!)

I get mine done every few weeks or so, and in between I just pluck what grows in where they waxed...I follow their line, so to speak.

It costs about $10 where I go.

I get mine waxed everytime I get my hair cut. It looks so "neat" when they are waxed. It's slightly painful, but only lasts for a few seconds.

put me in the boat that has "never had it done for fear of maintenance".
I think I get my hair cut MAYBE 3 times a year.
in the winter, I dont' go for pedis as often.
and I'm just scared of someone screwing them up...

but would love to get it done...i pluck the strays in the middle...but I'm scared to do too much and have to wait for them all to grow in

I get mine done religiously every 3 weeks. I go to a spa and pay $16 plus tip. I've been going to the same girl for almost 2 years and she is great. I agree with the other poster about getting it done somewhere that you lie down on a table with lots of good light. My girl waxes first, then tweezes any hairs that were missed, then trims them with little scissors. I don't think it hurts. It's like pulling off a band-aid. In the past I've had it done at by hairdressers, but they don't seem to do as good of a job. They usually have you sitting up and the results aren't as good that way.

I love having my eyebrows waxed! It looks so perfect and lasts (I think) much longer than tweezing. (I'm terrible at trying to shape my own brows, so when I tweeze, I usually end up with one very surprised looking-brow or one very thin brow that starts at about the middle of my eye.) Waxing is definitely the way to go! I try to get mine done about every 4 weeks or so.

I'm terrified of getting mine waxed.. I'm 17 and my eyebrows look okay right now, but what am I supposed to do if they get too bushy?! Yiiiikes!

See and spellcheck wouldn't of helped me there because it actually is a word. At least I have good typos. I bet he sometimes wishes he was moneyboy! :Pinkbounc ;)

I get mine done every 2 - 3 weeks. My manicurist does it for me. Since she is also a friend, she never charges me :teeth:

It is slightly painful, but I find tweezing to hurt much more. I love how they look when they are done.

I had mine professionaly done once. They came out nice, don't get me wrong. But I have blonde eyebrows. You couldn't tell the difference between when they are professionally done, when I do them, or if I never did them in my entire life. So I don't see the point of paying for it.

My college roommate used to get hers threaded every 2 weeks. It only cost her like $6 and she said it didn't hurt much. But it does require maintenance.

Now I am dying to get them done, but I don't know when I would find time. I am not due for a hair cut for a while. I saw them doing it to one lady one time I was there, she was just sitting in the hair washing chair, I was't impressed.

I am thinking about seeing if the salon in the gym (lifetime) does it. I am sure they do, but I want to see HOW they do it. (and how much) That is the only time I think I could find time to do it. The girls could go to the childcare. I really need to getting around to working out. Not today though, too much snow to bother. :cold:

DisneyPHD I go to lifetime! I LOVE that place, and I have used the salon services! I go to one in the Chicago area!

I have had 2 arches there, about 15ish (same everwhere here in Chicago) they do a good job (I have a place I prefer, but will use them in a pinch-ha get it pinch, cause it hurts a pinch) You lie down and get the light and the wax then tweezing etc.

The best part is have the kids in the child care center! For a fee built into
your memebership costs!

I get mine done for $8. she sometimes charges me $10 if I go a long time without waxing and she needs to wax more than once for stingy hairs and if she needs to tweeze a lot. It only takes 5 minutes and even though it's a little painful, it's over quickly!

I just remembered something kind of funny about my last eyebrow waxing. I had waited a long, long time in between waxings. I was sort of apologizing for my unkempt-ness and the lady said, "Oh, no problem at all." RIIPPP! "I love it when you let 'em get nice and meaty for me." :rotfl:

So I finally got to the gym today (Lifetime) and before my work out I asked how much it was to get your eyebrows done. It was $20, a bit high from what I hear, but I went for it anyway.

The skin around them is still a little sore, but I have to say I like it. It was a nice spa room where you lay down and the stylest spends some time with you.

I even signed up for a faical next week. Looking forward to it! (Happy valenties day to myself.) :cool1: :rotfl:

Here's a funny story....my dd13 just won a free eyebrow waxing from a local salon and was very excited. I took her there last week to get them waxed. She gripped the chair the whole time while it was being done but didn't shed a tear. When we left, she was mad saying it was the worst free prize she had ever won. I felt like the worse mother on the planet for taking her for her free eyebrow waxing prize. The next day, she started noticing everyone with groomed brows and now loves them. :hippie:
