have you ever had to walk out of a movie?

Haven't walked out of a movie yet.

Though Long ago my dad and uncle saw "Full Metal Jacket" when it 1st came out, everybody left the room but them. Good 'ol Gunnery Hartman lol

I wanted to walk out of Inglorious Basterds so bad! It was so boring and the bloody parts were gross. I almost fell asleep twice from all the reading of the subtitles!!! So it was a combination of closing my eyes at the gross parts and then realizing that I was probably missing dialogue if I closed my eyes for too long. That movie was too much work!!!

I walked out of Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. There have definitely been others that I wished I had walked out of (Eyes Wide Shut, Vanilla Sky, Pulp Fiction, Talented Mr. Ripley)

Well I probably would have walked out too. I think the director is FITH. I do NOT see the appeal for his movies! I saw "Pulp Fiction" and hated it. Everyone raves about his movies, but he seems obsessed with blood and violence. I think he's got one sick mind, he creeps me out!

The only movie I ever walked out of was Sin City. I *hated* it. Not at ALL what I expected!

Yeah, are you talking about B****** Out of Carolina? It was disturbing but I thought really good too.

I've never walked out of a movie but I almost did with Leaving Las Vegas (most boring, stupid movie of all time) and I also fell asleep during one...sometime in the 80's...a comedy with Danny DeVito and I can never remember the name, lol. I would have walked out if I was awake, lol.

That was the movie - the movie was great, but that one part was just too much for me. They could have left that out and it still would have been a great movie. I feel like they crossed the line with that scene.

Yes. We walked out of District 9 a few weeks ago.

It was just so stupid. And that way of shooting was making my hubby nauseous. Motion sickness like, with the camera following things, all wiggly, and jumping all over the place.

It was a terrible plot, and just a waste of time.

We left after 50 minutes. Went out to the lobby. The manager looked at us, and our friend told him why we were leaving and asked if we could get our money back, because it was so bad. He said yes, and gave all 4 of us vouchers to return for a free movie.

That is the way it is at most theatres. If you leave within the first hour, you can get your money refunded.
I left another one because of extreme profanity once, but I can't remember the name of it.

That's a shame. DIstrict 9 was an outstanding film (IMHO of course). Truly groundbreaking Sci-fi. Terrific plot and the acting was well done, again IMHO.

No but there were a few I should of like for ex.. the Day the Earth stood Still(too long and boring) or Don't Mess with Zohan(just not funny)

I wish I could have walked out of one of the recent (within 10 yrs) Dracula movies but I stuck through it for DH and his friends' sakes - and had nightmares for about a week.

I fell alseep while watching Star Wars Episode 1 at WDW. Jar Jar was too annoying and made me lose interest in the entire movie. Again, I stayed because it was opening week and DH is a huge Star Wars fan.

That was the movie - the movie was great, but that one part was just too much for me. They could have left that out and it still would have been a great movie. I feel like they crossed the line with that scene.

Yeah - this movie was really disturbing for me too. There's one scene that especially sticks with me and I can't watch anything that actor is in now.

OH YES. i walked out of the first Saw when the girl had her head in the bear trap. :scared1: nooooo thank you.

i DID end up watching the movie, years later, in broad daylight with lots of friends around, hahahah.

Generally speaking, i am terrified of horror movies. i've always known that, but i thought i could tough it out so i could hang out with my friends...won't be trying that again!

The only movie I have ever walked out of was Firestarter (ages ago). I have a hard time leaving even when I don't like a movie because I keep thinking it will get better, or it will suddenly make sense or the end will be redeeming, etc. Wish I had left Black Robe (too violent) and Master and Commander (too boring).

I think it has only been once. DH wanted to see Superstar and I went along to be a good sport. Thankfully he realized how moronic it was about 30 minutes into it and we escaped.

I desperately wanted to walk out on Legally Blonde 2, but we were with my brother and he wanted to stay. I can still feel my brain cells killing each other in protest of being subjected to that.

One of the bourne movies because I got motion sickness and Cloverfield for the same reason--I was basically dry heaving in the bathroom it was so bad!

I saw that (Cloverfield) when I was pregnant and had to walk out! I thought it was just nausea from the pregnancy, but my DH swears I couldn't handle the motion sickness from the movie. Who knows, but I never know how it ended :rotfl:.

We also walked out of Gosford Park, after about 10 minutes- it was so boring. The Deep End of the Ocean as well, and my DH wishes we walked out of Ghost World, Deep Water, and One Hour Photo :rotfl:

I I detest violent movies, so last weekend when he saw "Inglorious Basterds" I saw "Julie and Julia."

It's a shame you and I don't live closer, since that's just what DH and I did last weekend, he went to IB and I went to JNJ! I can't deal with all that violence, either!

Terri

You are the only person that I 'know' that knows of MAnos: HAnds of Fate. I love that movie and own it on DVD...of course it is from the MST3K
collection.

Manos: Hands of Fate! Truly Horrible movie! Yet, I've only seen the MST3K version, like you, which at least, makes it watchable! That's cool you are a MST3K fan, too!

As for movies that I have walked out on. None, so far. I rarely go to movies in the theaters (maybe 2-3 per year) and when I do I carefully pick them and read reviews about them. Last one I saw: 500 Days of Summer- loved it! Also, I'm probably the only person on here that finds Talladega Nights to be hilarious. I guess you need to have some sort of twisted humor to like that movie!

Ive left just once.

I am a big feardy.

I dont do horror.

Well, I was datin a guy I really really liked and he wanted to see Silence of The Lambs...yes I know...not even close to horror.

I was sooo into this guy I went along.

Now I should have know it was going to go well when I was hyperventilating in the line.

I made it through to the part when Clara has to wear the infra red glasses in the house, I could hear and feel my heart jumping out my chest and iwas shakin from head to toe.

I ran out and started shouting and demanding to see the manager,to whom I ranted " this is not right, they shouldnt be aloud to make films like that...look at me Im a mess !! "....he didnt argue.

When date came out ( he stayed to watch the end ) I was sitting on the floor breathin into a brown paper bag.

Romance didnt last long after....not even till the sequel !!

I forget what movie I walked out on but have slept through a number, lol. American Warewolf in Paris provided quite the nao :rotfl:

Back in the 90's my date and I walked out of Bugsy. I would have left the Passion of Christ but my husband really wanted to see it so I toughed it out...

I've wanted to, a couple of times, but didn't. The latest one was a few years ago, "Lady in the Water", one of those M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong's movies. I thought about leaving, but thought it had to get better. It didn't. What a waste. But I know that if I would have walked out, I would have wondered if it ever got better. So at least I know it didn't. :) That's the one consoling factor.
