yesterday, my friends and i went to see 'Inglorious Basterds' at the movies. i dont do well with violence, but its usually ok if i just close my eyes. so thats what i did. the only problem was that i could still hear everything and was getting some pretty horrific mental images.
40 minutes into the movie, i had to leave. i was traumatised and crying my eyes out.

anyway, my question is, has anyone else ever had to walk out of a movie?

Ishtar, but for different reasons...

I'm sure I've walked out of movies before because I seem to be very hard to entertain. :confused3

I felt like walking out of "Gangs of New York" because of all the violence, but then I would have had to sit in the lobby for who knows how long waiting for DH. I told DH it was like a bad sermon -- just when you thought it was coming to an end, it started all over again! I detest violent movies, so last weekend when he saw "Inglorious Basterds" I saw "Julie and Julia."

Back in the 80's when DH and I were dating, we went to see Zelig with Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. Woody played a human chamelion who always blended into his surroundings. A lot of it was in black and white and it was done in a documentary style. It was just the worst movie we had ever seen. We were there with at least one other couple, maybe two. After about 1/2 hour, we all decided to leave.

Sorry you took it so hard. Quentin Tarrantino films ALL have wildly violent images and sounds. It's what he's known for. I'll bet you went to see Brad Pitt!

DH and I walked out on Bewitched.

That stinks.

The only movie I have ever walked out out of was "The Man With One Red Shoe" with Tom Hanks. I remember it being incredibily boring or really dumb, it was back in 1986 I think.

I walked out on Dawn of the Dead. Not because I thought it was scary, but because I thought it was so dumb. I was pregnant at the time, and months later, I started having horrible nightmears about the movie. Guess I didn't walk out in time.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas= a bad acid trip that I did not wish to take!! I told my friend, he could leave with me or walk home, it was that bad. He walked home!

Forget the title=annoying evil fellow moviegoers who could not and would not shut their mouths!! demanded all costs of movie experience be reimbursed to due crappy experience, manager complied.

I have not been in a movie theater in over 10 years and will wait for satellite rather than deal with the so called movie experience!!

Have you ever seen any Quentin Tarantino movies before? He's not exactly the king of romantic comedies! :lmao:

And to answer your question, no, I never have. I have an edgier taste in books and movies though.

I've never walked out of a movie, but I did fall completely asleep during one once. It was a Robin Williams film called "Toys", one of the most boring movies ever made IMO.

Never walked out of a movie, but I've made more frequent bathroom trips, or more visits t the candy counter during the movie than I normally would (we always sit on an aisle). I did walk out of a bull fight in Madrid, does that count?

I walked out on Parenthood. My mom took me to see it when I was young and they got to a scene with an adult toy. I was a pre-teen and I was so embarrassed to watch that with my mom, I got up and walked out. I played games in the lobby until she came out after the movie was over.

That's what I was wondering, too, lol! I can't wait to see that movie.

The only movie I've walked out of in the theater was Armageddon towards the end. It was awful, but my actual reason was because I didn't feel good.

Starship Troopers? Is that what that horrid movie was called.

I just hated it.

I feel asleep during one of the early Batmans...maybe the Val Kilmer one.

I also did have to get up and take a breather during the most recent BatMan. Heath Ledger was just too much. It was his performance, knowing he died...all that. I needed a break.

Jackie Brown Which is buy the way a Quentin Tarantino movie. I never knew until I looked. I was the language that got to me.

Dumb and Dumber. It was what the title promises.
The only other show I walked out on was a 3D movie that was out of focus. Gave me a headache.

I had to close my eyes during some of the scenes, but never felt the need to walk out. I knew there would be violence in it..I wasn't expecting laugh out loud parts though.

The only movie I ever walked out of was Talladega Nights. I saw it at the second run theater, so I only paid $5, which included my popcorn and pop.

Ate the popcorn, drank the pop... then left. What a hideously idiotic movie.
