Have you ever had one of the very small rooms at DLH?

We just returned from a stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Our only prior experience there was in May of this year. During that trip we stayed in a room in the Sierra Tower overlooking the roof of Hook's Point. It was a nice large room with a daybed, lots of room around the beds, a large bathroom with double sinks, etc.

Last Wednesday, we checked in and were assigned room 2651. It is also in the Sierra Tower, on the 8th Floor and overlooking Downtown Disney. We were first surprised to see that our room was with another (2649) behind a pair of double doors that we first used our room key to pass through before reaching our actual room door.

We were very surprised by what we found on the other side. The living room portion was barely large enough to hold the two double beds. One bed touched the glass door, the other touched the bathroom wall and there was only about 18 inches between them. There was no daybed, a much, much smaller bathroom with a single sink and the closet was inside the bathroom. It was perhaps HALF the size of our first room (roughly the size of one of WDW's All Star Resort rooms). A look down the hall revealed that only one set of double doors existed. My guess is that all of our lost room went to an adjacent suite, perhaps.

The hotel was sold out this weekend, so we couldn't move. We had a great view, and I am thankful for that, but I was just surprised that a room this tiny existed in the Disneyland Hotel.

I have not had one of those rooms but have read reviews from people who received one of those. This was their first experience with the Disneyland hotel and it didn't make a good impression as it would not with me. One of my favorite things about the DLH is the large rooms.

I got stuck in one of those tiny rooms for one night last weekend. It was horrible. My room had one queen sized bed, a small table with one chair, and an amoire. If the chair to the table wasn't pushed in, I couldn't walk between the bed and the table.

The bathroom was tiny, as well. One sink inside the bathroom, and a small closet across from the door.

I wound up complaining about the room after one night, and a half dozen problems in the hotel (my experience at the hotel--aka the comedy of errors) will be outlined in a post later today).

I have had one of those rooms, and it was my one and only stay at DLH (go figure!) so I was shocked when I went on the DIS and saw people describe "huge rooms" at the DLH!!! Ours was at the end of a tower and "L" shaped, and there was only one bed with only about a foot or so of space between the edges of the bed and walls on either side. We couldn't lay our suitcases flat at the foot of the bed because of how close it was to the TV.
This was by far the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, and we also had a parking lot view! :crowded: :guilty:

Because of the DIS, I now know there are other, better rooms available, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to go back there when we've had great experiences at the Grand Californian and Paradise Pier! :sunny: :goodvibes

Were are these small rooms at again? I have res. for DLH coming up in a few months and would like to know where these are at?
Thanks for the help.

I think they can be used as bedrooms for some of the suites. I think a lot of the time these are located behind the elevator or maid closets and such. If you are concerned about getting one put in a request for a room with two queen beds and a daybed and that can help.
