Have you ever gone to DL and..

Everytime we go! Then again we live in CA and only go during school breaks, so its not too surprising.

Everytime. Live in Nor Cal and its a common thing for people to go to DL when the kids are out of school.

We went two years ago and we stopped to watch the street show outside of the Golden Corral (is that the right name?) and I instantly recognized one of the actors as an old school mate that I hadn't seen since I moved from FL back in 1992. I went up to him afterwards to see if he remembered me and I was surprised he did. I don't think he much liked me in school so I don't think he was as excited to see me as I was him :rotfl: (he was the first person from school I had ever run into so I was excited, I know lame ) But for the record, I thought he did a really great job in that show. I wonder if he still works there, hmmm.....?

The funny thing is that when you TRY to find people in DLR, it never works. When you are least expecting it - or least WANT to see them - is when you seem to run into people you know!

In July at DLR, on a Monday morning, my friend ran into a guy who she knew and who she had just had lunch with two days before!!! She hadn't told him she was going there, and he has AP's and took his kids, and they bumped right into each other in TL.

Another time, a big group of us went to DLR and one of my friends had just broken up with her boyfriend and wanted to be away from him at all costs. He found out she was going to be in DLR and he vowed to show up and find her. He had no idea where we would be at what time. We could have been anywhere, in any line or corner of the park. But somehow he found us and made my friend very uncomfortable!

Every time I go to DLR, I see someone who looks familiar, like maybe I have crossed paths with them in the past. As DLR expands and adds more things, it seems it should be less possible to run into people, and yet, it is still happening! And we tend to see people/strangers early in the trip, in a specific line or at the hotel, and then we keep seeing those same people for the rest of the trip!!

Oh, and one time I was in Universal Studios and ran into one of my "boyfriends" (to use the term very loosely) and his girlfriend out of nowhere. I hadn't even talked to him in two years, so of all the parks on all the days to be there...it was quite weird.

On our honeymoon we visited DLR. It was Labor Day weekend and was PACKED. We were in line for Space Mountain, the place where the que line winds around and around a big room. From up on the top I saw a girl I had gone to high school with. The thing is that we're from a little town in northern Oregon and we were a small graduating class. There's no way I thought I'd see someone from my high school a state away amongst the mass of people at DLR that weekend.

We saw the brother of the family that lived next door. They were staying at our hotel. We are both from Kansas City and were so surprized to see someone we knew!

We were in DL on my birthday one year, which always happened to coincide with the now-defunct Disneyana convention. I had been out of the loop and hadn't heard they were having the convention in DL that year (it was one of the very last ones).

We were in line for Indy and lo and behold - my pals that I used to hang out with at Disneyana from Wisconsin we right next to us on the stairs! OMG - I hadn't talked to them in years!!!!! No time to exchange numbers, but it was fun to see them.

A WDW one - ran into a coworker - who I didn't know was on vacation that week - and didn't know her touring plans - in 2 separate parks on the same day!!!! That one was just bizarre.

Yup, we ran in to a couple of friends once.

We were actually there the same time as MIL, FIL, and BIL and his family was. But we were there in secret from them. LOL They can easily ruin a trip for us, so it was interesting knowing they stayed at the PP and us at the DLH, and we never saw them! LOL

Yes! It was so crazy. My husbands good friend and his family were eating brunch right by us at the plaza inn.

Another day, same trip, we ran into my sons friend from school. So fun!

I ran into my best friend from 3rd grade by the New Orleans RR station. I can't think of any other occasions I have ran into somebody I knew/Know, but it's probably happened.

Yep!:thumbsup2 Last year I was taking a pic of the castle before the fireworks started and I hear "HI Michelle" . I turn around and there is a girl I know from here in Calgary! I had walked right by them intent on getting my pic and it was her husband that recognized me.
I just found out that other friends of ours from here in Calgary are going to to be at DLR at the same time as us in a few short weeks. Crazy!! We are going to meet up with them and have supper or do a few rides.

I could see running into people you know when you both live in California, but all the way from Canada? Crazy:rotfl:

After I graduated from high school my friends and I took a trip to DL (from northern california). We were walking through the parking lot to get back to our hotel and we saw one of our other good friends walking the other way! We had no idea she was going to be down that week too. And yes, maybe less of a coincidence being from California than some other state (or country) but it's a big state so it still seems strange to run into someone there! Even now being from So Cal and knowing several people with passes, i would still be shocked at seeing someone I knew.

That is crazy! What are the odds they would be going at the same time?!! It is so hard to imagine running into anyone you know in a restaurant, concert or movie theater somewhere in life, but at DLR - as big as it is (and growing all the time) and as many people as there are there - it is almost unfathomable. And yet, we seem to all be having these experiences in some way!

When we were at DL in December 2004, I was walking down Main Street and saw one of the gals from my scrapbook store posing for a photo. And we live in SW Washington! I had no clue she was going to be there at the same time so it was a nice surprise to see someone from home.

Yes we have! Our last 3 trips we have run into people we know and it feels so weird because we live in a small little town in northwest Washington.

It was summer and we ran into my son's teacher from the just ended school year. The funny thing was, we kept running into her at various places around home during the summer and then saw her there too.

WAY back 40 years ago, gulp!, our family was vacationing from Atlanta. We were in line for a ride and kept hearing my brother's name being called. Then the caller added his last name!

It was a girl in his high school class from Atlanta. He was in the 9th grade at the time. And was SO embarrased by the attention! :rotfl:

That was my only trip (so far) to DL. Hoping to get there in January '09!

Once I brought my kids to Disneyland on a school day, I was a Preschool teacher at their school, and we were playing hooky! :rolleyes1 And I saw a boy from the preschool, but not my class, he was playing hooky, too! :dance3:

Years ago, we ran into my Mom's Aunt and her cousins, they were from Washington and just happened to be there the same day as we were, we just ran into them in Adventureland. :grouphug:

I live in Las Vegas and have run into customers from my store, old friends , kids classmates and a teacher last year! it is a small world after all!
