I woke up this morning and it feels like someone stuffed 20 cotton balls in each of my ears. I can barely hear anything at all and it is driving me crazy!

I can't remember ever having this happen before. I have had the occassional problem over my lifetime with one ear sounding muffled but to have both at one time is a new thing. :(

Work should be fun today...at least I don't have any important meetings to attend.

YES, and I loved it ( for a few days only of course ) , I didn't hear the kids whine, all I could do was.....DIS!!!

NO, But I'm sure it happens to my kids A LOT

No but if it ever happens I hope it happens at work and lasts all day!!!!

LOL, Boosmom! Mine too.

My husband went temp. blind twice, that was scary. It was due to allergies and he's already legally blind in one eye.

Sorry, couldn't hear you, what did you say???

Happens to me all the time when I have ear infections. It's really yucky.

I can't be sick again! :(

I don't have any pain or any other symptoms other than some congestion. I took a decongestant and I am hoping that will help clear up my entire head including my ears soon.

I really hope it is not an ear infection. I have not had one since I was about 15. When I was younger I always had lots of pain a and a fever with the infection so maybe this is not it.

Yes, that did happen to me once. I had mono at the time and my glands were so swollen that I couldn't hear a thing. It was very scary. I did go to work but couldn't hear anyone. I also locked my keys in the car with the engine running because I couldn't hear it! Thankfully, it got a little better the next day then slowly went back to normal. Good luck. If things don't start to improve, definately call the doctor to make sure everything is okay.

My eardrum burst when I was younger and I've never been able to hear out of my left ear quite the same. And every once in a while it will get worse until I can only hear with my right ear.

my wife wants something done.

Yup.....after a George Thorogood concert. We were standing right in front of the speakers. I couldn't hear for two days afterwards :D :D :D

This has happened to me lots of times now. I don't always have ear infections either, I can just be really congested. Give yourself some time with the decongestants and see if everyting goes back to normal in a day or two.

I've had it happen once in college, but just in my left ear. My ear was just blocked with wax. On the first trip to student health, the doctor recommended Debrox which is over the counter. That softens the wax up so it will come out easier. That didn't work so I went back a few days later & the nurse irrigated my ear & out came the wax. I didn't have any pain when my ear was blocked, the sound was just muffled. It's been about 10 years & it hasn't happened again.

This happened to me a few times when I had an ear infection or sinus infection and got fluid in both ears. I hated that feeling :(

Hope your "deafness" clears up soon.
