that your dog was stuck up in a tree??!!
Today I went into the backyard because I could hear our chocolate lab barking and wondered what was wrong and there he was, up in the tree about 10 feet high and inside the treehouse with our 2 youngest kids!
I really haven't figured out how he got up there because the ladder is almost straight up, the only thing was that now he was up there he had no idea how to come down!
DH was out of town so I had to make a phone call to my FIL that I never in my life thought I would have to!
"Hello, could you maybe come over and help me get our dog out of the tree?"
He asked me to repeat myself a couple of times and even asked....."You do mean the cat don't you?" :lmao: :lmao:
Oh, how I love my Jebediah---he makes our lives so much more interesting!

:rotfl:

You should set up a video camera in the backyard & see if it catches him doing it again. Did you ask your kids if they saw him do it? Sbella

HOLY COW!!!!! Now THAT'S a new one!!! My beagles tree squirrels, but they've never treed (is that a word???) themselves!!!!! Too funny!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: That is funny. I doubt he will make that mistake again!

:rotfl2:
So how did you get him down? Did he let someone carry him?
Thank goodness our lab is too stupid to figure out how to do something like that - but he's a happy guy so it balances out I guess!

That is so funny. Yes, how did you get him down? The biggest question is how did he climb up there? :confused3

I have a couple of trees that my part Basenji can climb. It's funny! But she gets herself down.

But I would love to know how your dog did it.

I've tried to get my choc. lab to climb the ladder to the attic and she couldn't. They are some crazy pups!

Yes, basenji's have been known to climb trees! Scary, isn't it?!?!?!

OP...what a great sight that must have been! Too funny! :teeth:

:rotfl2: I am so not surprised it's a lab!

A couple of years ago, I heard this dog howling, whining, and barking in the neighborhood and it was non-stop. I went outside because something just didn't sound right with it. Well, it was stuck on a roof! The neighbors weren't home, so I called her at work (luckily I knew where she worked) and she asked me to go in to her house and get the dog inside. It had just managed to get out a window and crawled to the roof. The thing is, she has other dogs that I was a little leary of, but I still went in to save the poor dog. It was even funny at the time, and that dog was so grateful to me, he didn't even think to bark at me for being in his house.

Too funny. If my 100 pound lab ever found himself stuck in a tree, I think
I would laugh myself to death!!

surprised that with the recent tagfest activities,, the tag fairy has not manmaged to give op one about her dog stuck in the tree...lol...

We had a sling type thing made of sheets rigged up to put him in to lower him down but after almost an hour he lowered himself to the second step :confused3 and then leaped like Superdog!! We thought for sure he'd get hurt, but nope...he was dashing all around the yard with his tongue hanging out, totally senseless but lovable!
I honestly wonder what the neighbors must have thought looking out to see what was barking only to see a large dog in a tree :lmao:

Yes both kids saw him climbing up but didn't know how to stop him!
They said he stood on the ground looking up at them, whining for awhile and then started to climb the ladder and in their words "Jebby climbed up the ladder just like we did!"
