Hi, I did the 4-H and fair thing when I was a kid it was fun.

Now that I am an adult,,, a middle age adult.. oh my.. I have been working on a cake recipe for a while. I think I have it just the way I want it to come out. My friends say it should be entered in a contest. So I am looking for some advice.. Anybody..
Thank you soo much!

Yes, I've entered a few including the Pillsbury Bake-Off and a local contest. I won a prize in the local contest while in High School. The local paper used to sponsor an annual contest with several categories. All finalists from the categories had to go to the Tech HS nearby for a cookoff. We had to make our entry and have it judged by the Culinary teacher from the HS plus other local "Celebs" and Chefs. We all got a catered lunch too, besides tasting the other entries.

My entry was "Mexican Hot Dogs" in the Low Cal category. It was sliced hot dogs (LF or non-fat) in a spicy tomato based sauce that included green peppers, onions and corn. I developed it while on a diet and I really wanted something tasty, filling and not just a plain Dog on a bun. I won a Cake Decorating set and had my picture in the paper.

Margie congratulations! Btw, your hot dog recipe sounds yummy!
