you're not allowed balloons? We are planning to go to the world for dd15's sweet 16 and november and would love to stay at AKL but no balloons might be a deal breaker. i was planning on have a balloon boquet delivered to the hotel but that would be out of the question if we stayed there. I know it's kind of silly. But has anyone else ever felt like this?

If that is the only reason, that you aren't going to stay there, than you're going to miss out on possibly one of the best resorts of all WDW property.....They also don't have plastic straws tooo...Not sure if that's going to be a deal breaker, just thought I'd add that.....

If I were you, (Which obviously I'm not) I'd think again about the balloon thing..Or possibly Can it be done at a park or at dinner...Honestly they only last a few days at most anyhow right..:confused3

No way would the lack of balloons stop me for going to AKL. There are so many other things you could do for here sweet 16. I really doubt she would notice no balloons with all the animals outside the balcony.

No, I wouldn't let the balloon thing stop me from staying there. As another poster said, there are so many other nice things you can arrange for her birthday.

Nope. Plenty if other things you could get other then balloons. If I was given a choice of AKL or getting balloons, I'd choose AKL ::yes::

Definitely not. Staying at AKL and waking up to a view of zebras and giraffes outside my window trumps a balloon bouquet for any birthday. You can always do the balloon bouquet when you get home or for a different occasion.

No, I wouldn't let it stop me from going to AKL. It's a beautiful resort.

Maybe plan an alternative surprise, a dozen beautiful pink roses? That would turn some heads in the lobby when it comes in for delivery, we love our flowers don't we? princess:

I agree with others...no balloons would not be a deal breaker. AKL is a beautiful resort and there other things you could have delivered to the hotel for her.

Nope, do something else special for her birthday. And I'm glad you brought this up, I had no idea and we're staying there this summer. Now I'll make sure we don't buy balloons in the parks.

Wanyama Safari (aka sunset safari) it is expensive but what a wonderful sweet 16 gift. We are taking our DS on it for his graduation when we stay at AKV Spring Break 2014.

You could also do animal friendly paper decorations in your room like streamers and such. How about having flowers delivered or a dessert basket. Stuffed Animals are an ideal also. Maybe a Disney Custom Cake.

AKL is one of our favorite resorts and it is our DVC home resort. We love it :)

So many wonderful options that are animal friendly.

Nope, We were going to stay there but we got a huge discount by going to WL so we are staying there instead but the no balloons isn't a deal breaker.

No, balloons will never be my deciding factor in picking a hotel LOL. AKL is stunning, I would choose it over a balloon that will die in a few hours any day.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Turns out I might be able to get the deal I was looking at for akl at AoA instead!

I would never be persuaded from one of the best resorts on property because of balloons especially for an older child's birthday. They are just not that important to me when considering the experience to be had there.

I would never trade a deluxe resort for a value resort over balloons!

And, like others have mentioned, the balloons aren't going to last anyway, & there are so many other special ways to celebrate a 16th birthday.

But that's just me... ;)

Actually we were never planning on staying Deluxe we wanted AoA all along its just I found a deal for when we were going and I thought our only option were deluxe and so we choose akl because it was the cheapest. But I found out yesterday that the deal can also be applied to AoA family suites so now all problems have been resolved
